Is the 2021 Nissan Altima SR the better sedan to buy than an Accord?

The Nissan Altima SR has something the Honda Accord doesn't have, but does that give it an advantage? On the outside you will find a V-motion grill, unique wheels, and trim. On the inside there is plenty of room for your passengers, zero gravity seats, and Nissan safety features. Under the hood is a 2.0L VC turbocharged engine that produces 236HP & CVT transmission with power getting to the ground through AWD. Is the 2021 Nissan Altima SR the better sedan to buy than an Accord?

I appreciate it Steven! Thanks for being on the journey with me!
He has easily become my favorite reviewer and mature review channel. Lori always does a professional job too! I’d like to see her do more cameos
I’ve been here since 90K. Absolutely mind blowing how much this channel has grown since then.
I always appreciate your videos. Got a chill vibe, very informational, and not too biased. Thank you always!
Practical, fair, honest, real and fun reviews. That's the only reason I come here. Thank you!
Just got one. I like the feel of how it drives. Mileage is good. Main gripes are the low quality backup cam and touchscreen display/software. No lighting for example, in the cup holders, small storage alongside doors.
Joe, I love the buildup before you give the price! Look forward to it every time!
Absolutely love how you review the avg consumer cars. Loving the channel
It’s really awesome to see how fast the Raiti’s rides channel is growing. 450k here we come!
Not an Accord, but; after all the bashing on CVT's, pleasantly surprised with the action of this one. What about those of us who've learned to adapt and are happy with a 6-7" display? It gets the job done lol. Really loving the colour on this one. Thank you Lori for all your work, bringing us all the great leg work for these shots!
We appreciate you Adam! Thanks for being so supportive!
At this point Hostess needs to sponsor your reviews! You always make them fun and informational. Thanks.
I just bought mine last month brand new 2021 SR with premium package and I love it
I almost didn’t look at the Altima SR 2.0t bc of the reviews on KZhead. Then I went and drove it. It’s awesome. The speed , ride, and nimbleness is great along with the looks. You put on the radio and drive, it’s such a fun car! I bought it and love it. At least drive it b4 listening to the 50 KZheadrs that just repeat each others reviews. You won’t regret it.
I drove it. It shook a little soon as tried speeding up the car. Im going to go test drive it again though. Hopefully it won’t be the same

Some CVTs are alright, like Subaru's chain driven CVT. They're not the greatest, but at least they use a pull chain, not a push belt like on the JATCOs that Nissan uses.
Pretty nice vehicle. I'd still go Mazda but these look pretty well assembled. Even the K5 is quite compelling now especially with the upgrades from past. Thanks as always Joe

Nissan should've put their excellent 7 speed automatic into this thing.
You are so very right!
Nahh they need Toyotas 8 speed automatic and or Hondas 10 speed
@@tougeruzbay If fuel economy and low end torque was high on the table, Toyota's 8 speed would make sense, but for quick acceleration Nissan's 7 speed is king. You should watch a few Nissan Armada acceleration runs. They're very impressive.

I drove several rental 2021 Altimas for over 5000 miles. Apparently they have done some programming because even though it has a VCT is feels like it shifts like a regular Auto trans. The tack revs up and then drops down like it is shifting gears. Very different from the 2011 I had and my wife's 2015 Altima. The 2015 we get about 34.4 miles/gallon. The rental 2021 Atimas I drove got between 38 and 43 mpg. The 2021 had good power and rode and handles nicely. The car wanted to go 85-90 on the highway and I had to be careful to keep the speed down. I am 6'2" and overweight and the seat is comfortable. I had no problems driving 10-14 hours a day . I like the fully auto seat instead of the old hydraulic lift they used to use. I drove two different models and they both acted the same. A decent car.
Altimas are underrated. I enjoy the heck out of my 16 Altima SR
Good review & great Nissan.

One More thing, I own a few Honda/Acura products currently including the 2020 Accord 2.0T and will be getting more products soon, but I love good cars and always liked the Altima I had a 2004 SE-R on a trip that normally takes 71/2 hrs and did it in 4hrs 23 minutes in 2005... while I don't drive like that most times anymore, I feel I could do it in around 3.5 hrs with my 2020 Accord 2.0... mainly because cars improved , but also the confidence from driving dynamics of the Accord...
My employer's motor pool has about eighteen Altima base model units from 2019 through 2021. I routinely drive them hundreds of miles on business. They have fixed the CVT......It works very well. These cars accelerate fast from a stoplight, have great brakes, ride smoothly, handle well, and are very user-friendly. They have been reliable for us......We auction them off at about 50K miles.
Nice review, but I’m not sure why the Legacy and Camry AWD direct competitors didn’t rate a mention. I like the styling with the clamshell hood and nice lines, the engine makes very impressive power/liter (almost 125) and everyone has nice things to say about the seats. From there though there aren’t many other positives and it doesn’t seem like a great value mid 30s. If I needed AWD I’d lean towards the admittedly boring Legacy which abandons sporty pretense for more quiet and luxury. If I didn’t need awd, I’d probably be looking at a v6 or hybrid Camry.
I actually have the car and the mother effer is smooth!! The crying and complaining about the cvt doesn't bother me. If it stops running before I pay it off (which I doubt), then I'll complain!!
People hate yet Nissan is a strong solid sedan especially now with AWD and a first commercially produced vc turbo engine you get best of both worlds if people were just stop being cheap and lazy and keep up with regular maintenance your car will be fine our family are Nissan addicts we’ve own just about every mode From 1997,-2020 Altima,maxima,armada,pathfinder,370 z ,300,sentra, our 2008 Altima has 400 K miles and still a daily driver with zero engine problems since purchase 13 years ago not one vehicle has had any issues sure some may have had some recalls but the best part is the dealer takes them in and fixes them for free nothing to crazy though mostly from hood latch or software update. Fact is if you want a luxury sports car you go with Lexus or Mercedes. If you want a fast every driver with awd sedan you get a Nissan Altima sr. Mpg is amazing as wel!

Hi watch your your KZhead video all the time and I have a question. I am torn between getting a Honda or Nissan. If you was to pick what one would you go with. Thank you.
Thanks again to you and your wife and team. You obviously have driven all these cars and can give insight, but just we are all different example male or female, 3'11" adults to 7'3" etc so are vehicles...no such thing as perfect car for everyone like in any area of lives. I like the information given, but if you like Honda buy Honda, if you like Nissan but Nissan, if you like Audi...etc companies have different philosophy of designers which gives consumers choices. So many reviewers say things like...it's not like.... that should be a good thing. It's ok some reviewers don't like things on a vehicle be reviewed, but the target market is customers that are new drivers, older, middle aged, tall, short, fat to skinny, rich to poor, car enthusiast to just a means from point a to be, etc. We need more objective review from all reviewers and to stop coping notes. Just like your wife enjoys being with you and not with another man for pleasure, that's how myself and millions of customers feel about our Honda products.

Wow, what a beautiful looking car, and with great equipment a 4 cylinder turbo with 4WD. Much better looking than everything else in its segment too. The moderate pricing and all these features should make it a great seller. I hope the CVT holds up as they are known to the problem with Nissan vehicles. The 240 HP/270 lbft tells me the engine is severely limited in boost, and that those who wish to turn the wick up will easily achieve in excess of 300 HP with no difficulty. The CC rating was not mentioned, and I wish I knew more about the variable compression of the turbo too.
A lot of your torque can be worked out with transmission manipulation when "racing" I once beat a crotch rocket from a stop light with a Harley Heritage Softail because of clutchwork. Were they surprised lol So was my husband haha.

Hey Raiti, help. Would you buy a 2021 Altima SR or 2021 Mazda 3 Hatchback Preferred?
Just want to say that I had a 2017 Nissan Altima SR Midnight Black and the transmission went out at 60k. Got lucky and traded it in for a 2020 accord 2.0t sport. I currently have it on a stage 2 tune with downpipe, intake, and charge pipe making 310hp and 360tq. I can literally walk chargers and challengers now. Forget the nissan altima as long as it has that trash CVT. Not to mention the Accord has the Type R motor in it as well which is a bullet aluminum block and heads. 10 speed automatic with 2 sets of planetary gears and its a beast and super smooth.
