  • Great video! Do u also recommend potting soil instead of potting mix and bone/blood meal?

    @harmonyholisticshomestead4526@harmonyholisticshomestead452624 күн бұрын
    • Potting soil and potting mix are basically the same. While they are good to start at transplanting, most bagged potting soils will be out of nutrients in few weeks. So you need to amend soil on a regular basis. If by "bone/blood meal" you mean the one with NPK 3-9-3 (Westland), yes it is a good option. Otherwise I recommend using a complete fertilizer for vegetables, any tomato fertilizer would work. Hope this helps and thank you very much for your comment!

  • Now I really want to try this! I don’t have room for a big pot like that. I wonder if I could grow one or two in a smaller pot?

    @EffSharp@EffSharp20 күн бұрын
    • You will have much better results if you have more plants. The pollination of the flower will be much more successful. It is possible to plant 2 in smaller pots but I strongly recommend to plant at least 2-3 small pots. Happy growing and thank you so much for your comment!

  • There will be more kernels and less skips per ear if they are planted in a block shape instead of a line 😊

    @CabinGRL@CabinGRL7 күн бұрын
    • It works more for the corns planted in ground. For containers, it doesn't make a big difference since you need to hand pollinate and also because of the planting orientation in the pots. Thank you for sharing.

    @olithequeen7965@olithequeen7965 Жыл бұрын
    • You can start feeding every two weeks from transplanting into pots. It is important to feed plants as soon as they develop flowers. Thank you for visiting!

    @traceybennett8053@traceybennett805325 күн бұрын
    • We are lucky to get plenty of sun in our area (zone 9b). the good thing about planting in pots is that you can position them to receive needed sunlight. For the raccoons and rodents, I rely on my dog- he does a good job protecting the plants 😁 . Hope you will have a better results next time and thank you so much for your comment!

    @healthyliving9601@healthyliving9601 Жыл бұрын
    • Ideally corn grown in containers should be 4-5 ft tall. You can grow other varieties (7-8 ft tall) in containers too but probably won't get many ears. If you want to grow for Halloween decoration, I recommend growing Strawberry popcorn corn which is perfect for containers. Happy growing and thank you for visiting!

    @gracielaruano6501@gracielaruano6501 Жыл бұрын
    • It means a complete or balanced fertilizer that contains all three main elements for plants (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) labeled as N-P-K ratio. In this case the NPK ratio is 4-4-4 meaning it has equal parts of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. If you want an easy option, any tomato fertilizer available in the garden centers will work too. @kimisrael66@kimisrael6610 ай бұрын
    • If the lower leaves are dying, then it is most probably due to lack of nitrogen and under watering. Try to add composted manure or feed them with water soluble fertilizers such as fish emulsion for a quick effect. I suggest to fertilize more frequently with organic fertilizers too.
