i really appreciate the take here; a lot of DBS fans had the perspective that Ultra Ego was a regression of Vegeta's character, and i think this does a good job at deconstructing what Ultra Ego represents. specifically referencing Babidi shows how he grows and learns from everything he's been through, the good and the bad, and amasses it all into future growth, while still acknowledging the flaws in relying on ego and destructive tendencies

The fact that Goku's blows never feel powerful, but swift and precise. While Vegeta's punches feel simple ,yet frightening. Both of them reflect how passionate the creator is to this animation. Phenomenon job!
Especially the subtle details of vegeta using much more blunt hits like a hammer blow or roundhouse white goku is seen doing shorter kicks and jabs
@@notmr.barocksonjohnson570 I feel like vegeta landed one too many blows than he should have, almost none of those heavy attacks should have landed against MUI Goku considering he can literally anticipate them and dodge all of them without mistake. But I guess it's ok cuz Vegeta was landed most of the blows thanks to telekinesis and binding techniques, and because he was physically get a lot stronger it became easier and easier to trap Goku

Vegeta never lost a fight vs Goku ! he's 3-0 vs Goku, 1st encounter he breaks every bone in Goku's body while in Great Ape form, second fight as Majin, he still won since Goku could not access SSJ3 without using up all the time he had left on earth, and the third time he won fair and square in a no transformation fight vs Goku in DBS Super Hero. Black even admitted in Rosé iirc that if Vegeta got close to him, that he would be dead and thus chose to flee. So Vegeta did win in that he scared Zamasu off, he just didn't get a chance to actually finish the job.
Vegetas never lost against goku, he’s clapped goku 2-0 because the second fight in the majin series didn’t count. Bro clapped him the first time he turned into ape, and the 3rd time in superhero. He knocked out goku in majin series but didn’t count

The fact that the ending gives Vegeta’s so much characterization was a Godsend alongside his empathy in his Ultra Ego form and Yardratian technique was a chef’s kiss from Heaven. Phenomenal job Hyourinjutsu, can’t wait for your next masterpiece.

Vegeta gradually started hitting harder because of the factor of his form
Ultra instinct makes you dodge everything while needing no emotions and ultra ego makes you purposely get hit to get stronger while you need to have a specific emotion
@@pollinete7704 You don't dodge everything. If Yamcha or Master Roshi mastered Ultra Instinct he'd still get bodied by people vastly stronger than him. Only reason Vegeta didn't evolve fast enough to beat Granola in the manga is that he was passing out from too much blood loss due to Granola stabbing him.
I love that the thing holding Goku back is the fact that he's still a saiyan trying to imitate the would-be gods. This is a perfectly reasonable segue fight into Vegeta getting Ultra Ego to the level it is now, and Goku mastering the level of True Ultra Instinct that's unique to him. I love that even though your writing is phenomenal, it never feels out of place to be in the official storyline! Amazing production, Hyourinjutsu!
This is probably your most anime-like animation with so many beautifully drawn close ups on sprites with stop frames to ensure viewers gets a nice quick look at them.
They don't make the sprites, or the close ups They're from hyper DBZ. But they are very well implemented here

The only thing missing here is that Goku was fighting for art and not for his loved ones, here things really change depending on whether this factor is really applied in the script.

I love how they both fought with their entire bodies but in different ways. Goku fought like a God, wheras Vegeta fought like a Beast, and it worked SO WELL. I'm honestly in awe of this animation.

I can accept this. I prefer Ultra Instinct(Omen), but with everything Vegeta's learned since, it's a sensible outcome. He's known who he is all his life, with his only issue really being the bringing of his two worlds together - ironically the same issue Goku had faced up until becoming a Super Saiyan. Goku in the meantime is still discovering and figuring out who he is. Vegeta's faster progression in Ultra Ego makes sense.

The actual show needs something like this. A fight like this would actually make it feel like Goku and Vegeta are legitimate rivals instead of Vegeta constantly chasing Goku's coattails. Also Vegeta has far more reason and motivation to want to push himself further with someone like Black Frieza in the picture.

I love how Vegeta doesn’t have counters for new attacks like God Bind but he does for things like Instant Transmission Showing how he’s been watching, planning and training to counter Goku for years now
Spoilers for the Moro arc in the manga: Vegeta learns Instant Transmission on Planet Yardrat when he goes there to train. He actually teleports to Earth to fight Moro, and before Toriyama/Toyotaro sabotage him with classic Vegeta overconfidence, he actually has Moro on the ropes with another technique he learns there called forced spirit fission, which strips an opponent of any energy they get by absorption/fusion/other means. He has to lose so Goku can save the day but before that happens, we get some really sick Vegeta development in a lot of the newer manga arcs. Definitely worth a read.

@@The_Memi mean yeah technically, but it's the classic Toriyama trope of someone using a move they've only seen/haven't trained with. Vegeta did this when he learned how to sense energy after going to Earth, and Tien/Goku/Krillin have done similar stuff.

Watching this again 5 months later it's still really amazing! The attention to detail to manga exclusive stuff, the cut between the buu fight and now, the dialogue and character moments, the endings, the close up, all the animation itself, everything is so well done!!!!
What i love about this fight is that u can see the mistakes goku and vegeta make, also you can see when certain fighters forget the other can use a technique. It give lot more depth to the fight.
As amazing as Hyourin’s animations are, it impresses me so much that the writing is just as 🔥! We may only get videos once in a while, but MAN are these worth the wait.

Your fight choreography, your ideas for fighting and how the characters use their moves, you never cease to amaze man oh my LORD. The way force-spirit-fission was used, how Goku tried using his Ultra Instinct forms in the fight while managing his energy... And not to mention, that final bit with Vegeta staying in his character and helping Goku up, the fact he didn't even GLOAT over it is awesome. Dang, Forced Spirit Fission is definitely one of the more OP techniques in Dragon ball. I don't know how Vegeta will incorporate the technique into his fighting style in the main series, but this was a good showing of how it can be used. I just hope Vegeta doesn't let his opponents fuse and overpower him before he can use FSF.
It counters so many of the best power ups and if taken to it's logical evolution could be even stronger... Forced power downs. Think about it, imagine if he could sperate god ki and normal ki, forcing a ssgss fighter back into ssj. Forcing fighters like Gohan out of potential unleashed and other forms as they were gifted by ritual? Force frieza into a weaker form. That would be one hell of a scene, and we know techniques like that could exist given the games give characters like fu such an ability, usually through magic sure, but this honestly works differently from normal ki techniques anyways, i wouldn't be shocked to learn it's technically an offshoot of magic.
@shadowsnake5133 I have argued that his ability to read ki is also growing enough that it provides an almost pseudo-precognition. He can know when his opponent is really pumping ki into say a punch or kick before it actually hits and dodge or counter what they are going to do. Not much, an instant's warning maybe, but an incredible advantage at the levels Vegeta fights at.

This technique forced spirit fission can also be a scary technique if Vegeta ever becomes possessed by Baby while Goku's technique may be able to be used while in normal form anad will be able to evade or will be able to learn this form too. Gohan or Piccolo should learn time skip from Hit.. that would be insane. hahaha

This should be entirely canon, its simply perfect, gives vegeta so much character growth and actually make his history much more logical, the detail that connects the majin mark to his ultra ego makes so much sense, its cherry of the cake, that and his growth as a person too, amazing.

@@alx7927 honestly I like them being on equal footing, as it begs the question of what the opponent will lose to, not what hero is stronger. It adds that element from og dragon ball that honestly should never have left, in they the way one fights is equally if not more important than their raw strength. The why is usually reserved as the final nail regardless, as it should be as sometimes a good enough reason can excuse one being so naive as to trust another and use bad means.
The choreography displayed in this video doesn't just show an unending passion for DBZ, but it also greatly shows that you understand everything that makes these fights so memorable and enjoyable. My favourite thing about this video is that the choreography is not just high energy, it's also flowing and creative. At every moment, the characters move and strike and ki-blast in relation to their current position, as well as in a manner that fits their personalities and fighting styles - making for an increadibly enetertaining and believable what-if scenario. This doesn't even mention the many other wonderful aspects of this video such as the Mugen style fighting game menus and blood-pumping music and DBZ consistent characterisation and dialogue. Thank you for this wonderful piece of art.

What Iike about this the most is that both transformation have been accurately depicted. If UE Vegeta and UI Goku were to fight, Goku would have the upper hand at the beginning due to his ability to dodge attacks autonomously. Him hitting Vegeta would make Vegeta's power grow overtime, while UI is steadily losing it's accuracy. In this animation, Vegeta indeed had a hard time hitting Goku at the beginning, while Goku kept dodging and hitting. But overtime, Vegeta landed more and more hits and forced Goku to lose his edge. Also, the inclusion of forced spirit fission and True Ultra Instinct is something I absolutely like. Well done!

as i hate to admit it that Goku MUI lost yes, Goku still needs to be able to learn the true way of ultra instinct which is why he still has growth and will get stronger
How not? His style since he was a child was always to learn to move calmly, with Mr. Popo we saw that, that's Goku's style, it also evolves. Vegeta is LONG overdue for a proper "I have finally surpassed Kakarot". Hell I felt like the entire first bit was Vegeta warming up to Ultra Instinct, taking hits and testing the waters. 10:13 - And this is an awesome technique. It also shows just how much smarter Vegeta has been getting in his fights with Goku too. Very "Know Thy Enemy" feel.
Vegeta finally has the chance to beat Goku here. But he doesn’t take it as an overloading boost on his pride and rubbing it in, but now sees it as a sense of inspiration and just says GG to Goku.

Whats always been amazing is that even in this heated fight there is still that level of respect. Seeing vegeta evolve to being able to respect Goku’s techniques and power is astonishing
I fw this outcome and how vegeta has shown his progress not only in training but mentality since we first seen him. He has truly changed

What i like the most in this animation is that he didn’t just make a fight , we can see how vegeta was evolving and improving through the fight , we can also see how he adapts , while using his own fighting style , wich reminds me of broly’s fighting style , and also , we can see the difference betwin a goku who mastered his ultra instinct and a vegeta who is just starting to get used to his ultra ego form , this is a master piece
Plus, there's clear and brilliant call backs to continuity, not just in jokes like 'dirty fireworks' (which I enjoyed) but the idea of 'Majin form taught me a lesson' is a really good one.
Not just the difference between a Goku who mastered his power and a Vegeta who is beginning to tap into his, but the respective warriors having a choice between something to imitate that ultimately doesn't suit himself vs. something that is RIGHT up the Saiyan Prince alley
Absolutely beautiful as always. Your work never ceases to amaze me. Vegeta got the win he wanted but ultimately Frezia is the one he deserves.

Interestingly enough, he usually would brag about his victory and his superiority, but the ending surprised that he showed a true sign of maturity.

I like Hyorinjutsu's analysis of forced spirit fission. Some what if author's tend to overpower it and make it so that it defuses enemies, extracts androids, or even reverts majin absorptions, etc. In the manga all it did was revert ki to it's origin and redirect ki towards a spirit bomb. And that's it. When you think about it, it's also the perfect counter for the spirit bomb and spirit bombed-esque powered up transformation. And it doesn't contradict true ultra instinct being more powerful than ultra ego as he essentially just didn't bother surpassing it and rather reversed it. This is great Dragon Ball fighting analysis. Hyurinjutsu NEVER disappoints. Also, neat ohzaru avatar idea.
You did Vegeta’s Ultra Ego justice. I wish Goku used his ki more creatively and skilled like this. It really suits ultra instinct. I’ve always liked the Ultra instinct sign look more, but this really helped me appreciate Mui. I’d like it even more if the hair was this white in the anime.

This is what we needed in the manga after the Granolah arc when Whis took them back home to Beerus' Planet. The animation looks incredible and the difference between the two in this arc and in the Buu one shows how far they got to this point. Best animation ever. I really love the nostalgia as well. This is truly amazing.
Except the ending doesn't make any sense, Goku is much more powerful than Vegeta and should have won the fight.
@@capitaojacksparrow2164 That's true. Goku has True Ultra Instinct now as Vegeta has Ultra Ego and Goku had the upper hand at first because of their gap in power. How Vegeta managed to beat him is because of Ultra Ego giving him an edge as it made him stronger over time with each second as he didn't give Goku enough time to react quickly or to even let him breathe either.

Throughout most of the story Goku is said to be stronger than Vegeta but that doesn't apply to this scenario. Vegeta was quite literally crushing Goku to death as a Great Ape and would have won if Yajirobe didn't help out last second. Then, Majin Vegeta beats Goku because of his "kindness" (or his stupidity to let his guard down in this case), then Vegeta beats him at the end of DBS Super Hero and it's exactly what they are trying to convey to you. Who would actually win between UI Goku vs UE Vegeta is debatable but it's still just a fan animation and just because you're a diehard Goku fanboy doesn't mean the creator of the animation has to make him win.

This guy didnt miss a beat. That awesome tune from Xenoverse 2 as the intro.. then it changes into a badass track thay suited the action so well. Taking into account Vegetas super spirit conteol and spirit fission and even referencing the Granolah arc with Goku not being able to make ultra instinct his own. 10/10

That was WELL worth the wait. I have no words for how amazing that animation was. The fight choreography, the strategies, the presentation, EVERYTHING. Simply magnificent.
This makes me realise how goku still hasnt completely actually mastered ultra instinct whereas vegeta has almost finished ultra ego.
Everytime you see a new db fan animation you feel like nothing can top it, but then you come across something like this. Truly magnificent.

It's beautiful. Both techniques are drawn out to their fullest ability. You even let Kakarot use both MUI and TUI for stat bonuses during the fight. I swear man, you animators understand the inner workings of this series more than Toyotaro does. Excellent work, dude.

@@songoku9069In case you weren't paying attention, Ultra Instinct is able to activate while exhausted, as seen in the anime against Jiren, and as seen with Gas, at that time he was even able to summon that type of of Goku's gigantic projection. I find it funny that they want to detract from Goku's doctrine, to magnify Vegeta, as this shitty fandom always does.

What I love about your series is the full utilization of a character's toolkit and the respect for the characters, no one is being sold short for the purpose of plot convenience, not even the villains (which is more than can be said about the people actually creating the show now). Deadass you could make a video about yamcha's comeback or even any of the zfighters and I'd still love it.

This was a masterpiece man, seeing Vegeta say he will kill Goku and destroy him I guess was a way to psyche himself up and get him hyped in the battle. Showing Vegeta has further progressed due to talent naturally and him having a headstart in the destructive path compared to Goku's think without moving from angels was a nice touch. Can't wait to see what is done with black Frieza here and in the manga

Hearing Vegeta's laugh in this has me imagining him slip into a different, Drummond-esque (if not *exact*) voice as he turns into Ego, and I think that fits the change in form, appearance, and attitude greatly.

That thing about Vegeta trying to get stronger than Frieza was such a nice detail. We tend to forget that Vegeta was basically his slave since childhood, was killed by him (twice technically) and he blew up his kingdom. It'd be nice to see the effect Frieza has on his mind more.
