  • I'm so incredibly proud of him for opening up about such issues he went through. I've been his fan for almost four years now and even if I don't know him personally, I noticed he was completely lost and I knew he was going through something extremely complicated. I'm so glad he recovered and he's doing great now, I could see myself and my own current experience with depression thanks to what he said, it's so true that sometimes you don't even actually notice you're experiencing something like that and struggle so much to accept it. I hope this video can help many people and save them before they can fall into something that's bigger than them.

    • Wow, it sounds like he's been through a lot, so much more than he's telling it himself. Anyway, knowing that, today, Tyler is doing great, that he's fine now, makes me feel peaceful and happy. Thanks for the information. Coming from a tierce person, it tells a lot about the guy.

  • The interviewer is also depressed? Well, it's surprising at the beginning. Then we understand why. She's in the middle, offering a kind of balance between a strictly professional talk and friendly conversation. Exchanging experiences always helps to learn more about others but also learn more about ourselves. I just wish that it's all behind you now. Be happy.

  • I really loved this interview! Especially the part where he talked about how he would still manage work during his depression but also knew, it was already really bad. I could relate to that so much because I was similar to that when I had a hard time dealing with mental health issues - but sometimes I was wondering if my problems weren’t as ‚legit‘ because I could still go to work. Now I know it was just a different way of handling it? (I guess...?) Anyways to hear him describe a similar situation, helped me!! So thanks man!

  • I have a feeling he is an empath like me. I noticed his behavior behind the scenes on Teenwolf. When he was on the show he was on a high because he had all that positive energy around him to feed and restore him. He wasn't looking drained or withdrawn. He was like a happy ping pong ball. The show goes off the air and he just seemed to sink inside himself. He has friends, but the energy he got revived from on a regular is gone. Being alone while you mature into your next self, can be overwhelming. You over analyze things around you until you sink into doubt...then here comes depression, like irritating family, and they set up shop. But now that he has passed the worst of it, he's out here doing what he also was meant to do. He is reaching out, and making impacts into people's lives, which brings empaths much joy. I understand because it's what I struggle with. He has grown so much. I am so proud of his metamorphosis. He is a butterfly now. 🥰

  • ok but like him talking about feeling good being depressed was so wild bc like, that’s exactly what makes depression such a bitch. when i was super *super* depressed i was so scared of being happy bc 1. change is scary 2. in reality life isn’t always happy when you have depression you get happy, you’re doing something you enjoy, but then it leaves. happiness is like a kind of island in the middle of a sea full of sharks. it’s a nice island but when it’s done suddenly you’re sinking to the bottom of the ocean. so you avoid being happy bc the sinking is the worst part.

  • I had the same experience and still do. I told some one once that you get addicted to not being happy or content. I went years with being content, and then it was just this emptiness and dark thoughts. I gave it God and praise be to Him, because He's all I need. Trust me He wants all the negative stuff, so you can experience joy. We will struggle but Jesus can hold the other end of our cross. It still happens from time to time, but I have a Father to lean on. If anyone thinks God isn't there, reach out with your whole heart, and be alert for you will see. He's coming. The dark Tyler described was a demonic presence that sucks all emotion from you. At least that's what cause it to come randomly. It's normal to feel depressed from death, but there are times that demons come for us. But Tyler's story about how he got help, was definitely God working whether he knew it or not. I see it. God is so good.

And I had the sense of dread and excitement when thinking of how my life would be after. I remember being so scared of the person I would become with part of me gone. I just knew that I didn't want to meet that person even though I was curious of who that person would be. I didn't get to meet that person thank goodness but I know I will one day.

  • I love that I've been able to watch and listen to this personal and so much open talk about something so important. "Check in with yourself periodically" and "Acceptance" would be the two points I'd highlight about having experienced Depression. Because as you both said, we are not concern about that kind of mind state and for that we are not able to notice it. So I hope more people acquire this awareness and notice these signs before they get into a darker and deeper place. We all have our minds and situations, but in the end we are all human beings so never compare, because the feeling is the same and it may be "good" in some way, as an inflection point, but it's not worth it. Mind does not know whats good for us and what is not. That's on us to analyze, learn and put into practice the techniques we learn. Thank you two for this. --- If any one wants to know, coming from a cheerful, all opened and active person: In my case, I went into a big depression last year, started to skip classes (college) and I did literally nothing with me and my life, just being alone at home, in my bed until I went to a psychologist (big summary). Then this year I had a rough week when things weren't as I expected and I started doing the same but, this time after 4 days I stopped and said -wait, analyze, I am repeating the pattern, not again, it's not worth it-. So yes, there is a way out and it's all about LISTENING TO YOURSELF.

Then he was very flippant about his drug use & how he was such a free spirit when actually he was clearly not okay & missing his mother terribly. I’m glad he came to terms with his emotions & realized there’s no shame in asking for help or in being in so much pain you can lose yourself if left alone to deal with it. Much love Tyler. Your mom would be proud & I’m sure you can feel her with you again even you can’t see her.❤️

  • I too once was having a really hard time , It was like everything just going wrong at the same time forcing me to the point where I decided to give and ignore that what was I going through was dragging me into a really dark place you know , when things keep breaking you beyond the limit you can take in .. and the scariest part is once you get used to feeling bad you just think that's how normally you are supposed to feel , And then it took a while for me to figure out that to feel low sometimes is human, remember your emotions are valid, to feel pain is a part of your life , it's alright to be not alright for a while, to overcome the pain, you first have to learn to face it , just respect yourself... take care of yourself... just know everything is going to be alright, when you're cut, you bleed .that's human, feeling the pain is a huge part of healing process!, It's alright to feel low , it's alright to get stuff screwed up , it's just human, we all have got ups and downs, and it would always come back to the middle. that's how the life works, it's the balance, just give yourself enough time to overcome the pain and be the best version of you , eventually it's going to be alright, you just have to feel the pain , face your fears , learn how to overcome those , get stronger and get up back on your feet!!

She basically brought back sometimes conversations about her, to her and she was talking too much even it was real and deep! But in same time, she brought a kind dynamic and authenticity between them. We knew more about both of them deeply and so on. But she kinda took all the light, the lights were on her.
