    • ^I can confirm here, although not with as much confidence. I've taken some ASL courses and what she was saying was really quite appropriate for what was being said. I couldn't pick up every word though, since I'm not as proficient in ASL, but I can indeed say that she used many correct signs, such as the sign for time (tapping on the wrist before giving the time in hours and (if applicable) minutes, the sign for area (right hand open facing the floor and moving in a small circular fashion), the sign for cop (the letter C where a cop's badge would be), etc.

  • The person that was signing knew most of the right signs and was actually some what accurate. I'm a asl student in high school so I'm not super fluent. But I definitely recognized alot of her signs

  • She didn’t make it up. It wasn’t random hand movements. She was signing real signs, real words (mostly), but not proper sentences. She clearly overestimated her ASL level. Dunning-Kruger Effect.
