We have dealt with more mud than a pig in a wallow! Thats why today we are putting in concrete path from the driveway to our house. Im going to take you through step by step and show you how to build them. At the end I will give you a list of what we used and how much it cost.

Yeah, I was sneezing on my walk today. The cottonwoods are blowing their seeds all over. Looks like it’s snowing. Oregon.

Look into dry poring your cement for a project like this. It works surprising well, after screeding you use a DRY paint roller to flatten and create the sandpaper like finish, mist the concrete with super fine mist several times until the top layer slightly crusts over than water about once every hour for the next maybe 6 to 8 hrs. No babysitting needed, no troweling, comes out every bit as well as wet pored pavers with less skill needed.

Crandall you did an amazing job. Have you heard of doing a dry concrete walkway? You set your forms up, pour the concrete in right out of the bag and wet it down. Then finish up the top of the concrete. I'm not sure if it works or not because I haven't tried it yet but I think we're going to try it for our slab to set our chicken coop on. Thank you for the DYI projects. Maverick is going to have so much knowledge when he grows up. Much love from our family to your family 💞

Another fun day on the farm Marci, Crandall. Crandall, I felt bad for ya, when the concrete mixer fell backwards. Maybe next time on your next concrete project, make a place so where you can put Gooose in for the day, so he won't step in your wet concrete. ❤ ❤ 😊

Oh my goodness when that cement mixer fell over I yelled I’m sure everybody watching yelled as well. And then you hurt your finger. You know, I was watching Maverick help you level the cement and I am sure many years ago Crandall as a little boy was doing the same thing with his daddy You both have taken so naturally to parenthood. I enjoyed this video. I’ll never build my own sidewalk, but somehow it’s kind of relaxing to watch a young person. Do a good job.

35 miles from a town! Holy cow! That’s just too far for me. My brother and father would love to live that far out. I gotta be atleast 20mins. At the most. Yes! OSB was expensive when my father and I went to Home Depot. Over $20 I know. Ridiculous! Kitchen looks beautiful! I love it. Can’t wait for the living room. 😊 2 concrete bags at once. Wow. Marci, you need some flonase for your allergies. I used to get sinus infections every change of the season. Since I take Flonase twice a day it works wonders. I get stuffy but at least it don't turn into an infection now. Hope you fell better soon.

Great job Crandall. I remember doing this with my dad many years ago, he would coat the wood with dish soap before pouring the concrete.

Love seeing the boys.. my dad always did his own walkway pavers, but he added pebbles to the tops, for traction as we have winters with ice and snow..

Goose left paw 🐾 🐾 prints. My landlord is doing a project. He has a few loads of rocks in the driveway. He co- owns the cement plant here. Not sure what tho. Our sidewalk is crumbling from winter ice melt. I thought for sure you would need rebar. Only cement work i did was for the floors of grain bins. I used build and erect grain bins in southcenteral South Dakota.
Right on that’s cool! I thought about using rebar but decided it wouldn’t be needed

Hi guys. I call them stepping stones. Do you have a country babysitter? Lol I don’t see the boys. Oh Marci I went to Aldi today I think I had 15 bags plus a box. I figured out many times a person handles them 1 off the shelf, 2 out of the cart, 3 out of the cart again, 4 bag them up and put back in cart. 5 take out of cart put in car, 6 take out of car inside, 7 empty the bags and put away. Isn’t that crazy? And I shopped for 2 months. Poor Crandall he is losing his mind lol. Woo hoo Marci I love your idea. He should buy one. Happy Mothers Day Marci! gooses paw prints in the step was cute. You did a great job Crandall, my husband is in construction I have seen him set forms up for concrete. From small to big projects. Every thing you get done is one more than finished and you can plan for the next project. Even if you get one curb build every month you will eventually have it as you want it. I think white gravel in the eight inches would be beautiful. When you get grass growing it will be beautiful. I couldn’t remember what kind you said you was using if you did!

My sister bought floor tiles with bird prints. They lay them out to dry and they get walked on. I think it gives them character. Not big prints.
