    • I think with us short goalkeepers is that positions matters more to us than to anyone. We are prolly better goalkeepers at futsal as the goals are much smaller and we would be faster getting down

  • I used to be a Keeper when growing up but I was tiny (at 15 years old I was 5ft 6) But I was the best keeper in my College and in the League I played in for my club. I won player of the tournament in a county 5 a side tournament but I still got overlooked for my college team cos the guys at 6ft 2- 6ft 3 were being picked ahead of me. It didn't help one of them was the chairman of the football clubs son, but that's another matter. It was gutting watching guys play ahead of me that I knew I was better than, eventually id give up on football and my local club team knowing id never be able to go any further with it cos guys so much taller would be picked ahead of me. By 19 I was 6ft 2 after a massive growth shift and it always makes me wonder what would have happened if I kept playing and didn't give up.

  • you don't need to be tall to be a good goalkeeper, you just have to not be short (any size below 1.70)
