    • @@noahsabel2115 acetone peroxyde made from HCl tend to be more stable than made from sulfuric acid, I Don't know exactly why but other people have experienced both and I think there are also studies that shows that. (And the cooling helps to form the tri acetone peroxyde, when its under 10°c otherwise it forms the di acetone peroxyde which is more sensitive)

      @adrixyn@adrixynАй бұрын
    • @@adrixyn This is not exactly true. Best results can be achieved with citric acid as a catalyst. There is a simple explanation, why stronger acides (higher Pks-value) make TATP more unstable: Reaction goes faster and TATP-crystals are largerr and formed more irregularly. Crystals with dendrites or needles tend to break easily, where enough energy can be released to initiate an explosion. Weaker acids produce smaller crystals with no irregularities. 😃

  • Congratulations 👏🏻 if it is done safely and without being fast and distracted, the risk of explosions is also reduced :) for example it is important to pour the hydrochloric acid (much safer than sulfuric acid) one drop at a time, always mixing well. Interesting idea of ammonium nitrate..I'll try it since I still have some! Last thing: don't you use baking soda to reduce acidity at the end? Thanks and congratulations ❤️

    @federicodeluca3748@federicodeluca37483 ай бұрын
    • Well done bro ;) I read that sulfuric acid remains trapped in the crystals and those 50 degrees of the radiator are enough to make it explode. I believe that all things are dangerous, but the risk is reduced in the hands of those who have a minimum of foresight and good intentions. It's now the 10th time I've made it and it has never given me any problems! I wring it out when it's wet, I even roll it out with a rolling pin. Even when dry it does not react when subjected to LITTLE friction or low IMPACT. The heat, however, activates it very well :D every now and then I like to have a nice bang in the mountains and hear the echo. Gunpowder is expensive and not even close to that.@@kylehowat6775

      @Playfulchemists@Playfulchemists2 ай бұрын
    • eh, but if you do not define the temperature, you gonna have a lot of problems with people who try it out in real life. They will be doing dangerous stuff. So, it is up to the one who makes the video to at least define what he means. And, i was not planning on doing anything like this, but it is very important to know if it is celsius or fahrenheit. I hope you agree. @@Playfulchemists PS: i do love to know why you think i do not know about chemistry and its problems? Because it seems to me i know just a tiny bit more since i would not have made that mistake in my videos. Because it is important. Especially for a video. Because you can bet that people are going to try it. And if they think it is fahrenheit, things might go wrong. (i know that in this case it would probably not matter that much, but if you are doing chemistry, define the stuff. Like if you use weights, define if it is grams, pounds, kilograms, what ever. Makes it a lot easier for everyone) PPS: my chemistry teacher explained it to me when i was young. I always wrote down the numbers but forgot to define it. And so he would always ask me what i meant, cows, chickens, etc..... It stuck. He made it stuck, and it is important enough to stick Otherwise it is a brilliant video sir, has to be said as well.

    • It's just basic chemistry, and it is open knowledge. Only a dictatorship would censor scientific information. Also making explosives doesn't mean using them to harm people. It might be illegal to perform these reactions but it really shouldn't be. Illegality makes it only worse and more dangerous.
