  • Came here after reading that Calvijn, the reformer, had written a commentary on this very book in the mid 16th century. It's fascinating how these words have transcended time. Yet disheartening how they are still relevant to this day. Thank you very much for this reading!

  • I try to learn a lot about the roman emperors.. I feel like Nero was the one that really tried the hardest to be a good emperor despite his character. Time after time, when he listened to advice he tried to adjust to critism. By the looks of it, a man with strange demeanor but with great wisdom and humble in listening to people that know better... He truly is different than the rest of the roman emperors.

  • Concerning Book 1:23 I wonder if the "War on Drugs" and other "wars" were established as a way to convince people to use and/or sell drugs. Specially in areas with greater vigilance. Too many people behind bars for putting thing in their bodies, as if it were a crime. Yet nowadays crime, it seems to me, can be better defined as: That which a governing body deems as punishable, regardless of wether or not it is harmful to another or maybe even one self. More or less. The ancients had such knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge which has been passed down through millenia, only without successfully transferring the wisdom to accompany it. Thank you for such wonderful reading.
