1976 was the year that introduced me to Formula1 and then hooked me the 12 year old me on it. Being British I cheered for James Hunt but, secretly, I preferred Nikki Lauda. I thought he was a much more complete driver. I wonder if Hunt would have won the championship that year if Lauda hadn't had that horrendous crash, I suspect not. Many years later I was fortunate enough to meet Lauda at Silverstone. I was just one person in the crowd so didn't get to chat but I said Hi and he nodded at me. Not much but it made my day. When you see this film you have to respect the guys who strapped themselves into what were essentially bombs and tried to make them go as fast as they could. I have been fortunate enough to drive an open wheel racing car. It was one of best experiences of my life and at the same time the worst. Best because .... Just WOW! Worst because it teaches you how hard these things are to drive and I realised I'd never be good enough to drive an F1 car.

Simply put: People love this movie, Men and Women. However, us Men in particular love this movie and this particular soundtrack so much because it speaks to our Inner Masculinity. In relation to Brotherhood, to Competition, to Honor, to Mutual and Recognized Respect, to the greatest Rivalries that later become the greatest Friendships, the desire to be The VERY Best and impose your will upon the world with your own two hands, might, heart, and mind despite what anyone else believes as long as you wholeheartedly believe in yourself! It's the essence of Our Masculine Souls with a perfect visual and auditory encapsulation on the Silver Screen. A Perfect Man's Movie! That's why we love this! And this particular soundtrack encapsulates the Masculine Mood. For those who were wondering why, but couldn't quite put your finger on it. It's the embodiment of the Masculine Experience. Unique to Men. The same way the Feminine Experience in this world is unique to Women, the Masculine Experience in this world is unique to Men. I'm sure women have a similar experience with a film, or films, that speaks deeply to their Femininity. Something that most women would inherently understand.

Many years before I introduced Hans Zimmer to her, she had already developed a profound admiration for Hans Zimmer's music. She shared with me her deep affection for his compositions, such as those from "Interstellar," which she frequently enjoyed in solitude. Today she introduced me to this soundtrack, I hadn't listened before I don't know how, it's so beautiful, so yeah "Lost But Won" indeed for me.
@shivangshukla3982 ай бұрын
"lost but won" is not just a song. It is a philosophy in life. Sometimes we feel that we are at a juncture in life where everything seems uncertain. Everything seems lost. We feel that nothing is working in our favour. But it is when you are truly lost you find a version of yourself that teaches you something about yourself. You realise that there have been many before you and there will be many after you but there will be nobody like you. When you feel lost, don't despair, because that is when you have truly found yourself. And when you have found your true self, when you actually find what lengths you are capable of scaling despite falling, failing and "losing", you have not failed but actually won. There cannot be a greater win in life than finding your true self. And you, have not lost, but won.

Twenty five drivers start every season in Formula One, and each year two of us die. What kind of person does a job like this? Not normal men, for sure. Rebels, lunatics, dreamers. People who are that desperate to make a mark, and are prepared to die trying. My name is Niki Lauda, and racing people know me for two things. The first is my rivalry with him. ..... I don't know why it became such a big thing. We were just drivers busting each other's balls. To me this is perfectly normal, but other people saw in differently. That whatever it was between us went deeper. The other thing I'm remembered for is what happened on 1st August 1976, when I was chasing him like an asshole... - NIKI LAUDA

TeteBruleeFR .Couldn't agree more, every movie he touches, he enhances. He makes everything EPIC!!!
True

I started to hate Oscars after Daniel Bruhl didn't get one for his performance....Extremely rare to see such finesse and panache portraying a living legend !!!
Fuck Academy theyre stupid
I wish this movie was made after Civil War Daniel could have had a bigger chance to win an Oscar i bet. He was not so known when Rush came out... also as far as i know this was not a Hollywood movie as the director Ron Howard said it in an interview so that’s maybe another reason the movie was completely ignored ....unfortunately
He'd have won it if he was "diverse enough" by being a person of colour or from some poorer country or was born to an immigrant couple. If this movie showcased some racial issues or gender issues, this would have won oscar too.... Welcome to Hollywood.

I've seen Rush movie like 12 or 13 times I guess since it was first released. and every time I watch it, it still moves me. it's one of the very few that I really love. :)
Agreed. I've seen it about a dozen times and I feel the same. The 70's and 80's were the best in F1, imo. I still sorta kinda follow it today but it doesn't grab me near as hard as it did back then. Of course, being Canadian, Villeneuve's death took the wind out of my sails and when Senna died, well, that just about ended it for me. Just didn't have the enthusiasm much after that.
Genuinely is one of the most inspiring pieces of music ever recorded. I always listen to this when I need to get myself in the mood for writing. Bravo Hans Zimmer

That final scene literally gave me goosebumps
Many years before I introduced Hans Zimmer to her, she had already developed a profound admiration for Hans Zimmer's music. She shared with me her deep affection for his compositions, such as those from "Interstellar," which she frequently enjoyed in solitude. Today she introduced me to this soundtrack, I hadn't listened before I don't know how, it's so beautiful, so yeah "Lost But Won" indeed for me.
@@bharaviyadav8510 Thank you!! Means a lot.
Hunt : So in many ways, I feel responsible for what happend, Niki : You were... Niki : But trust me.. watching you win those races while I was fighting for my life, you were equally responsible for getting me back in the car.

How Daniel Brühl did not win an Oscar from this baffles me, unbelievable performance.

Don't mention that mindless crap in the same sentence with Rush.
do not compare F&F and Rush - one is CREATED story inspired by illegal races in USA made for fun, other was made to share the very touching TRUE story of Niki Lauda and his rivalry with James Hunt.
@keagan snow Also, F&F was never meant to be serious. From the start, it was silly and ridiculous with little touches of seriousness to keep the movie from being an outright comedy. Rush would better be compared to a movie like Hacksaw Ridge. They're entirely different stories, but the core of them is the same. They're about one man, a legend, who was determined to succeed in his field by any means necessary
