Got a question, it's about something in BOTW that nobody seems to discuss. The Bokoblin camps all over Hyrule. What left the giant skulls they camp in?
So was the time travel mechanic in Ages originally meant for Courage? If so, what mechanic was originally present for Ages/Wisdom?
That's sad that she was left homeless I never finished thag quest...
Something to mention also din nayru and farore are the three goddesses throughout Zelda games the beings that created the triforce hylia aka the 4th goddess that passes it's bloodline and spirit down as Zelda and causes link to reincarnate as well....I forget the rest there's ties between the three goddesses and hylia it may be that the goddesses sealed much of hylias power as the triforce eventually it being power to being best representing each of the goddesses since the triforce is split into three It could also be that the triforce is he power of the three goddesses that they shed when they became human and the lost 4th peice o the triforce so many theories revolve around is the remaining power of hylia witch would explain why it's so tied to the hylian family in lore even showing up on royal guards shieds It's he golden upside down triforce This is going off of a theory that people in the community have had for years It's not typically refered to as the 4th piece of the triforce but I forget what it's usually refered to otherwise I'd show my source

This drove me nuts as a kid, i tried for hours to figure out how to build the third house
Likewise. I remember doing the exact same until after a while I just assumed that was how it was supposed to end. A side quest without a happy ending for everyone involved seemed weird, but that's what I just assumed it was after a while.

I've always had this theory that Minish Cap IS the third elusive Oracle game, but with changes to plot and gameplay mechanics for obvious reasons. If Farore was the Oracle of Secrets in the original idea for Mystical Seed of Courage, then shrinking down and uncovering *secrets* around the world could fit with the season changing and time travelling of the other games. Heck, maybe the book that she`s always carrying would be the item that allowed Link to shrink! Those glowing blue runes Ezlo uses in the final game would come from its pages. Vaati possesses a humanoid form and a monstrous form much like Veran and Onox.
^ i love this theory~ this game had lots of secrets.
Brilliant!
and the kin stones further elaborate on that theme as they allow you to uncover more secrets.
Go back to Mother 3 my dude
I once heard that oracle of secrets was based on going into books, and these books served as the second world kind of like how ages sends you to the past and seasons has the subrosian world. It's tragic they never got to make oracle of secrets.
Just wait until they remake the oracles, maybe they'll finally make the third one
If there is enough fan demand maybe they will!
Dustin Miller - PolyInnovator That is the game I would want to see the most! If they ever remake the oracle games I would want them to finally make the third oracle game. Maybe if they remade the Oracle games and then remade Minish cap we would finally be able to finish the quest. Would be nice anyway.
I hope they don't. I want more original Zelda ideas and more reimaginings like albw

@@smalachit1571 Mess around in the game until your memory suddenly springs back, and let's pray that your memory wasn't misremembered
Capcom did try to make it up for Farore! If you decide to give her a house, she'll make a charm that gives you both Nayru's and Din's charm's abilities in one! In the end, it's the better/most strategic option to give her a home, even though the game encourages you to get them for the first two :) I think it's a pretty neat detail Edit: ok ok I wasn't aware of the lowered strength that farore's charm has, but to be fair, they don't really make it clear in game, especially for younger me who thought she tricked the system lmao
But then they don't match!
Valoo gee I didn’t realize that. She was my favorite so I chose her for the first house.
If you give Farore the blue house Farore hangs her green clothes on the clothes-line :P Using her charm gives Link purple clothes.
@Zachary Erickson I also think since it is both din(red) and nayru(blue) rolled into one=purple :D thanks for the chat :)
While Farore's charm does boost both attack and defense, it does so to a lesser degree than Din's does attack and Naryu's does defense. I personally only ever use Din's since the enemies in the game don't do that much damage anyway.
According to TCRF there aren't any missing assets relating to that third quest, so that also lends credence to the idea that it was omitted on purpose, especially considering how many random unused assets *were* left in.
@Vexa Grimwoe do you have evidence?
Minish Cap is my favorite Zelda game. I hope they eventually have a remake and fix this quest. Would be nice if they remade the Oracle games too and finally made the third game.
An individual with fine taste right here - TMC is godlike
Zeltik Yeah it’s an amazing game. Thank goodness they have virtual console games so we can all enjoy them because I haven’t been able to find an original copy yet.
I remember loving Minish Cap, but I also remember spending hours grinding to Cucco minigame so that I could buy the shells needed for the figurines, because you can't get the last damn heart piece without every figurine.
This was my first Zelda game before the NES Classic one on GBA. Vaati is still my favorite zelda character, this game is awesome, I finished it at 100%, figurines and everything.
Yea my favorite hand held besides (link between worlds)
Cruelest joke of all, Farore is that sibling who ends up being the butt of every joke. Hopefully that's rectified in the future some how, even if it's a new Oracle game. :)
Tsukikumoon yeah. I hope we end up getting the 3rd Oracle game and get a remake of Minish Cap where we can finish the quest. Farore is my favorite out of the three so she got the first house. Hehehe. I think I left Din at the hotel.
Phoenix Layton I left Nayru because a defense buff seems pointless when you have so many hearts

You know what’d be neat? Oracle remakes where the two games are combined. You know what’d be neater? The above, but with the addition of Oracle of Secrets.
This could most likely happen. All they have to do is reuse the LA Remake engine along with it's assets and use it to make Seasons and Ages, and also adding that cancelled 3rd game to make a trilogy.
Obey Chris_98 It’d be one hell of a grand adventure, that’s for sure!
I really hope they don’t reuse the LA assets. I was not a fan of the plastic toy aesthetic.
Quinn Sinclair I love it, myself. That’s all subjective.
Sentient Violin It was fine for one game but I’d rather not see the entire gameboy colour lineup stamped with that style. It was more the plastic nature of everything that bothered me over the toon style but I’d much prefer something more like A Link Between World’s for future 2D titles.
Capcom: Zelda 1 is to hard to remake so instead let's make 2 games that span 16 dungeons, time travel, changing seasons, connected story to get a big ending... Yep, this is easier.
To be fair, Zelda 1 was such a unique and innovative that it'd be impossible to capture its essence in a remake.
@@zamsparkle6883 Satellaview zelda 1 would like to disagree

having played through The Minish Cap several times, I always assumed I was just lacking something, missing something, or perhaps doing something in the wrong order locking me out of completing the quest. Minish Cap is the least talked about, most underrated zelda game
I never hear about the Oracle games though. Minish cap is ranked six on most talked about in my opinion. Number one is of course OoT.
'Zelda - Four Swords Adventures' goes and quietly cries in the corner.
@@irdunk Hey hey that was practically a party game
To expand on what I said, it's arguably one of the modern Zelda games and yet it's talked about on par with some of the obsolete titles like the Oracle games
Sprit Tracks: am I a joke to you?
Canonically, the 3 oracles in Minish Cap are stated to be distant ancestors of the ones from the games. Which DOES make sense when you take into account the sheer volume of nearly identical-looking girls named Zelda in the royal family's history. Still, it's always been my personal head-canon that sometime after the games ended the three of them decided to take a sort of "vacation," going back in time to that specific festival. And as for why 2 of them decided to settle down in a house for a while, well, they'd LITERALLY have all the time in the world, now wouldn't they? And they wouldn't necessarily feel any pressure to help out with the current crisis, since that whole thing sorted itself out literal ages ago from their perspecitve.
Bowen Orcutt I’m just imagining all of the royalty having a daughter and all of them naming her Zelda hoping that she’s the reincarnation of Hylia lol Also I’m wondering if Link and Zelda (+The Oracles) truly do look super similar like that, or if it’s that their spirits recognize each other but can’t quite figure out why So that they can find each other in every lifetime? Also random but in Ages didn’t what Link do in the past remedy things in the present? So wouldn’t the present look bad until Link fixed it?
Mmmm no,The oracles are The same than The oracles of The oracles gamer.
poor Farore is also the only Oracle without a Spirit in Ultimate :(
@Vexa Grimwoe nope, Din & Nayru each have one, and all 3 animal friends from the Oracle games have Spirits...but no Farore, Veran or Onox ( also nobody from Hyrule Warriors and no Midna in her true form which just bugs the crap out of me )
@@newageBoundhippie Yeah, when I was upgrading spirits because I felt like it, I had assumed Midna would become true form, like the Marx spirit. But nope, Wolf Link and Midna.

Yeah, Minish Cap has always been my favorite Zelda game in the GameBoy lineup. (Original GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance.)
Good Zelda, not as good as the Oracles. I'm not too fond of the Kinstone mechanic.
Minish Cap was my first Zelda game and will always have a special place in my heart and so I am always so happy when you talk about it. It has gone under the radar so much and it deserves so much more. Thank you for caring about this game.
The line being removed about removing the cats suggests to me that they had originally intended to include the house. However, that doesn't preclude them later deciding to leave it out as a reference.
A little detail worth conveying is that the oracles themselves are meant to be reflective of the goddesses mentioned in Ocarina of Time, with each being associated with a certain piece of the triforce. Din = Power (Red), Nayru = Wisdom (Blue), Farore = Courage (Green). This is why Farore would have been associated with that uncompleted game "Mystical Seed of *Courage."* However, given the fact that dialog suggesting the possibility of building a new house existed but was removed, suggests that the quest was unfinished simply due to time constraints. That said, it's also theoretically possible that, knowing that completing it would be impossible, they changed the color palette for the house's roofs to make them reflective of specific goddesses, and thus the games they were associated with. Then again, then again, it could also have just been a coincidence, who knows? ... Well, obviously the dev team... Also, they show up again in Twilight Princess as the fangirls outside the circus tent minigame thing. And were presumably retroactively responsible for why the Hero's clothes always turn out to be a green tunic and hat, because green is the color associated with Farore, the Goddess of Courage, whose piece of the Triforce became irrevocably tied to Link. And why the colors of the other tunics in Ocarina of Time were the way they were, as opposed to something like a lighter shade of blue for the Zora Tunic to match their whiter skin, brown to be closer to the Goron's skin, or just something like Orange or Yellow for the Fire protection tunic.
What a coincidence, I just played through this game last weekend. The Picori/Minish are so adorable.
This irritated me to no end when I was a Kid.

I'm disappointed you didn't make a Missing Link joke.
@@UnknownFlyingPancake you shoulda made an independent comment and made that joke yourself instead :P
I suppose the joke extends to the charms they give as well; Din's Charm doubles your attack power, Nayru's Charm halves the damage you take, and Farore's Charm gives you extra attack and defense, but to a lesser extent than the other two. Because the boost Farore's Charm gives is so negligeable, you'd rather have either Din's or Nayru's charm instead to decimate opponents or tank through hits, rather than awkwardly being slightly stronger on both ends.
I don’t think they’re ancestors to the Oracles in the Downfall Timeline, I think they’re the actual Oracles after the events of their games. After all, Nayru can time travel, so it’s possible they either were escaping some disaster in the future, coming to warn the Royal Family of events in the Downfall Timeline, or they’re simply on the weirdest vacation.
OH MY GOD. I literally stopped playing because I thought I had soft locked the game forever

You know, if the Oracle games ever get remakes, it would be cool if they also made a new game following the same style called Oracle of Secrets, where Farore has the ability to look into peoples dreams & uncover secrets. You would be warping from the real world to the dream world, & the gameplay is all about thinking outside the box, trying new things, taking risks, & sometimes blind faith, with things such as dark room puzzles, being given an item & being very subtly hinted at where to use it, though quite indirectly. It could also involve memory related puzzles. It would be hard to design, & it would mess with the crossover aspects of the game, but I think it would be really cool, & this game would also have a stronger focus on plot.
very nice idea!
The room you find them in is even thematically Green Toned. Poor Fayore... :’(
It’s a mixture of the three, there’s a green carpet, fire and blueish walls
Jamie Parsons The walls are green-toned, maybe a teal at most. (And a hearth fire doesn’t really count.) The other two stand out and clash. Fayore blends right in.
What's funny to me, is that I never realized you could get a second house, and ended up moving Farore into the first one since she gives you the best charm.

Oh my god... you've just blown my mind. I remember having a 99.9% completed minish cap file, where I'd done absolutely everything, except for ONE kinstone fusion. I tried re-visiting every single NPC you can kinfuse with in the entire game, and yet Tingle insisted there was one left, and IIRC I was missing one goron in that special cave. I never knew which one I missed... until I just read about this glitch. I'm now 100% certain that I tried fusing with him, couldnt, and never realised that I'd glitched the game and could no longer kinfuse with him. Wow.

Traveling through the seasons is close enough to time travel
5:27 "...such as the time travel theme MOVING to oracle of seasons..."
If they made a third game, "Oracle of Hours" would have been perfect, and could have a gameplay setup like Majora's Mask with a 1 or three day cycle.
I also never found the last kinstone to match, although I combed through all areas time and time again. I thought that with the last one I could build her house, that made me even more obsessed with it.
Having to make exclusive selections like this for different rewards is a common element in many games. It's a way of providing a realistic sense of choice, and in some cases also add to replayability.
I really hope they remake the oracles series and maybe finally finish the trilogy giving Farore her game
After the huge success of Links Awakening, this would be amazing
It took me awhile, but this same thought thread eventually donned on me as a kid. The Oracle games were my introduction to Zelda, so I was very familiar with the fact that Farore got shafted in those games. So after spending roughly an hour trying to figure out a way for her house to be built (after moving Nayru and Din, cause color co-ordination) it finally clicked that Farore just probably didn't get to get a house at all. Just like she never got to have a game back in the Oracles.
I don't know if I would say Farore is useless, in Oracles Combined; I personally got a lot out if improved gear in the more action-oriented Seasons, after playing Ages, and Farore made that possible. 😁 Where Din could control the weather of a place, and Nayru the time of the place, Farore could manipulate what would be in that place, bringing items from another reality, or at leastv managing them for you.
Thanks Zeltik , it's really nice to see a video referencing more than 2 seconds the Oracles of games. I never understand why in the world these two masterpieces (especialy Ages) are so underrated and unpopular. I swear, even the CD-I games are more referenced and discussed by the fans (thanks to the meme and YTP) than these two. But the thing I really don't get, it's how that Link's Awakening is always portrayed as the best 2D Zelda and always rivaled with Alttp and MC. I mean, COME ON ! The oracle of serie is basically LA but better in every freaking aspects ! The dungeon and overworld mechanics doesn't even hold the comparison, same thing with the world map wich is larger and interactive (Seasons, best time travel mechanics of the LoZ serie, underwater and underground world, the animal friends trio...), and the scenario is a little more polished, the game is longer, introduced really nice character (Din, Nayru, Ralph, Cap'n), etc... I get how LA has a special place in Zelda fans hearts (it's actualy one of my first video game, and I fucking love it) and why it's their favorite. But I really don't understand how someone can say that LA is better than the Oracles games in terms of gameplay, and that LA is still portrayed as the golden representer of the 2D Zelda game. That's unfair. Because of that Nintendo doesn't pay them any attention, and lot of Zelda fans think's they are dispensable games of the serie and won't even try them.
They should’ve added more things for Farore in the zelda series seriously so underrated especially when she is one of the golden goddesses my opinion I hope we can find out more about them in later on zelda games
That side quest really bugged me. I really wanted to get houses for all of them, and I was pretty disappointed when I found out I couldn't. I spent quite a lot of time trying to get that third house too.
I'd love to see remakes of the Oracle Games using Cross-Save reading to mix the stories....and the release of the intended third game. Oracle of Ages HD and Oracle of Seasons HD could easily be made to be played in any order, with the new Oracle of Secrets game being intended to either stand alone OR be the finale when Linked to the other 2.
This is one of my favorite, yet saddest easter eggs Don't worry Farore Your secrets are very helpful to me
I like this talk about Oracle games. Maybe Nintendo ninjas see this whole conversation and see an oportunity to develop a remake.
I’m playing it right now and it’s kind of comforting and disheartening to know that I can never find nayru a house, side note I think the goddess of courage is always the mother of every incarnation of link
Never played any game with the three in there, but hearing this made me really sad for the lone one out. If i played minish cap i’d never be able to do the quest just knowing one is alone. At least the three of them can be together in the inn
I hope we get more remakes the new links awakening art style would be perfect for minish cap as it would make the minish and minish link look like toys
How about hoping for more NEW games? Remakes like LA are nice, but I'd rather have new games...ALBW was basically the last half-new 2D Zelda and ir's already 6 years old...
@@Ray_2112 People can hope for remakes, why not ask for both? You get to enjoy new games and the remakes can be enjoyed while waiting on the new games.
@@speedyav46 That would be the optimal soluation, I agree. But think about when the last new 2D Zelda was...ALBW was only half new and already 6 years ago, the last new one was basically Spirit Tracks already 10 years ago...and we got LA and ALBW as half remake in that time. With the 3D ones it works - they're always working on the next new one and release remakes/remasters of the old ones in between. But new 2D ones aren't barely made anymore.
@@Ray_2112 We will get them in due time but for now we will just have to wait and see. We are still getting new Zelda titles despite them just being 3D ones for now. They haven't gone away from the 2D Zeldas just focusing on how successful BOTW was and making a direct sequel. After that one they might be working on it but we won't know for sure. What we do know is after or doing development of one game they are already working on another one.
It is a shame that Farore doesn't get much love in the Oracle games. In the greater Creation myths, Farore is the Goddess of Courage, and is thus closely associated with Link and the Triforce of Courage. At any rate, I'd love for there to be a remake of the Oracle games in the style of Link's Awakening, as well as the third game to finally be released.
I remember this! When I was a kid I played all the GBA and GBC Zelda games. Minish cap was my favorite, so happy to see something on KZhead about it.
I never put thought into this quest, but looking back now, its probably more of a balance issue. Each one gives a charm that allows stat boosts, and having access to all three would be a bit OP. Din grants a major attack boost, nayru grants a major defense boost, and farore grants both a minor attack and minor defense boost; they can't be stacked but having to choose is most likely a balancing issue
Din, Narue, and Faroe are also the names of the three goddess of power, wisdom, and courage respectively, that created the world of Hyrule and the Triforce.
It just hurts so bad to be unable to house the final oracle.
Thanks for finally laying this chapter of my childhood to rest. I had actually forgotten until now all my frustrations because of not being able to complete this trilogy of sidequests. I also had one single kin stone that I never paired despite searching for countless days upon days. I lost the game several, several years ago, so I don't know if I'll ever actually fully complete this game unfortunately.
It's funny. When I first played this, I noticed how you couldn't move them all in and thought about the oracle games. I never realized that it might have actually been an intended reference until seeing this video. Actually, this got me hoping that they'll remake the Oracle games, especially since they remade Link's Awakening. Given how the oracle games are up there on my list of favorite Zelda games, I'd love to see that.
Oh god this still haunts me you REMINDED ME
i remember this too
The Oracle games are two of my favorite, but they may also be some of the least appreciated games in the franchise. It’s nice to see someone talk about them.
They couldn’t let you double Link’s overall power. Zelda prides itself on having link and every enemy to always have some weakness. It’s brilliant in my opinion. Of course you can have link to a point where he is almost invincible but he will always have some way to fail. It just depends on who controls him. It’s like in Twilight Princess, you can only have one rare chu jelly at a time but you can have all four bottles filled with fairy’s tears if you’re willing to conquer the cave of ordeals multiple times and then one last time using only one bottle of healing stuff. But at that point, that kind of player will never even use the tears. Great video, very thought provoking as usual!
TL;DR version for people familiar with Zelda: Capcom made the Oracle games, the third of which was cancelled and also made The Minish Cap, which includes all three of the oracles but you can only build houses for two of the three, possibly a reference to the cancelled third game.
So you’ve covered Windfall Isle and Forest Haven, but what about the Forbidden Fortress? We know from Tetra that another pirate group used to operate out of there before Ganondorf and his minions seized it, but what else is there?
Good to see some minish cap content.
This was extremely fascinating!! Thank you for all your research, and for sharing your findings (not just for this video, but for all your content on this channel)!
Honestly the Farore house one stumped me I can't tell you how I ran around like a mad elf trying to figure out how to trigger. After every kinstone fusion...every temple...every side quest...I returned to try to house her and I got so frustrated I looked up a guide and found out....nothing 😭😭😭 RIP to all the time I spent in this game for that
The solution clearly is to remake the Oracle games, make Oracle of Secrets, and when Minish Cap gets remade, add Pharore's house in.

This whole concept drove me NUTS as a kid... Now it's kinda nostalgic and it's almost satisfying an unfortunate easter egg. Man I love these games 😂👌🏻
Cute theory, but you can give Farore a house instead of Din or Nayru. She gives you a charm that has a defense and attack boost and turns your tunic purple.
Love you Zeltik
Honestly, they should not only remake the Oracle series, but also take another crack at the third Oracle game
I like to think Minish Cap was a spiritual successor to the ill fated Oracle Farore debute. After you consider that Din and Nayru had game mechanics tied to each ones nature and domain, like time and seasons, then Farore would have been tied to space or rather size like the Minish Cap. Farore being tied to links triforce of courage and also himself always belonging to the domain of smaller creatures that require courage to perservere like the kokiri.
Thanks for sharing, I love your story telling and love the way you make us all think about our favorite franchise.
Finally! I knew this for the longest time, but not a lot of people mention it. Let's hope they will make Switch Remakes of Oracle of Seasons and Ages and will make Oracle of Mysteries. Maybe they'll include the third house in the remake of Minish Cap after that? 😁
Very interesting. I just recently finished Minish Cap for the first time so I had been wondering about this. The game had a few aspects that seemed off to me, like permanently missable items. Incidentally, I'm currently playing Link to the Past on the SNES Online so that I can then play the Link's Awakening remake. After that, I'm also planning to finally check out the Oraacle games. The entire concept of having multiple games complete each other in this way always intrigued me. In summary, I am well on my way to havin played every Zelda game! You can see how much I love this series, yeah? Its part of why I always love your videos. They help me get an even better grasp at the surprisingly deep and interconnected lore of the series (especially now that I already know everything there is to know about Kirby lore, which is just as deep, surprisingly)
I’ve always wondered how that quest was supposed to end. Although that is a neat easter egg if it is one, that’s still sad that she ends up homeless. I really hope they do eventually remake the Oracle games and complete the third one!
I honestly feel bad for Farore. She was skipped over in the Oracle games and in the Minish Cap, even though Din and Nayru both did get their own game.
5:28 “Such as the time traveling theme moving to Oracle of Seasons,” Excuse me?
Ages* lmfao
It’s all good
Wow. This is a fantastic game. I never put much thought into that remaining girl at in the inn. But now it’s bothering me! Haha. How amazing would it be if Nintendo remade it for the Switch.
Currently playing the game for the first time and I'm so glad I watched this video because otherwise I would of gone mad trying to complete the quest
The Capcom Zelda games are some of my absolute favorites in the series I hope they remake them some day😭
Since they've been remaking all the older zelda games, I always hoped they would remake the Oracle saga. And even though I know the odds are slim, I would love to see the unmade seed of courage game. Unlikely, but not impossible. Nintendo does like to bend the truth a little when talking about their potential upcoming titles. Majoras mask 3D, and Banjo in smash are the first to come to mind. But they do like dropping hints. (Majora's mask in in your house in A Link Between Worlds) Imagine, the next game they release is Minished cap. And their hint that they are working on the Oracle games is the inclusion of the third house. And not only a hont that they are working on them, but the third game will be there. But all of this is just wishful thinking. Again, the odds are very slim. But one can hope and dream.
I always assumed this was just a call back to how Farore never got her game. In this game she never gets her house.
This side quest drove me crazy since i tried to finish it- thanks for this explanation!
I actually didn't know that Capcom worked on this game, since I never really played it. I'm surprised they haven't tried to place Minish Cap link into their roster with Capcom versus Marvel? That would kind of be a really interesting thing to see
"finishing" the quest to give 2 of them houses is the least satisfying outcome, as you not only are left with 2/3 of a quest but also have one of the 3 sister standing aorund in the inn all alone.
A Switch remake of Minish Cap or both Oracle of Ages and Seasons would be awesome. 😧
I'm SO happy for this video, I was pulling my hair out trying to get the third Oracle a house. Glad to know it wasn't my fault I couldn't get it built.
Excited to see Minish Cap content! Like most people, I'd love to not only see the Oracle games get remade/remastered but for the third game featuring Farore to finally be made. 💚
omfg thank you this always bugged me i spent ages and seasons trying to find out this! yes pun intended
I prefer the legend of zelda: the magical hat
The Birb hat
Fytos Birb? I think you mean Bird
They prob ran out of dev time and game pressured to go gold
The hat on head
뿡뿡! ^__^ woooosh
I find it funny that Farore, Oracle of Secrets and potencially the Godess responsible of the Triforce of Courage, most related to Link, is the one homeless. Symbolizing Link's eternal adventure.
U know what would be amazing? If Nintendo remastered the Oracle series like they did with Link's Awakening and then released mystical seed of courage along wit them, now that would be cool 🙏
