You have to listen to this with headphones to hear how intricate her layered background vocals are. Her harmonies are heavenly.

Like I’ve literally listened to this song thousands of times by now and have never realized the pre chorus was included in the final chorus as well. I can hear the obvious “gimme your loves,” but the “boy, if I Dos” are a lot more subtle, but they’re there. It’s crazy how I notice things like this in her songs many years after they come out. What other singer in popular music even comes close to her background vocals and how her vocals melt into her songs? Now I can’t stop playing this part on repeat. I remember when MTV had a show called “Making the Video” to show the behind the scenes of filming of music video. This one was especially funny to watch. Oh the good old days.
I remember this one as well. I was just telling my husband the other night that shows like "making the video" or "FANatic" etc were pretty awesome back then.
The series started as an ABC TGIF show when it first premiered around this same year.
