Yeah I worked for Chanel and the reason that they have to check the authenticity at customs is because most of there bags are made in china and then shipped to Italy or France to be labeled so they can legally say made in Italy

I love your channel so much and this video validates a lot of what I have been telling people-the hi low fashion issues. For me, I buy my vintage LV bags from Japan-I’ve actually spent less than what super fakes cost. Ive sent some of them to LV for Vachetta replacement and still comes in less than a new bag. A few years back my husband and I were watching *suluxs* company Personally, I would buy a superfake of a Pochette Metis but I’m too lazy to research the super fake market.

This is nothing new honey, been going on for 20+ yrs. When I worked as a United Airlines flight attendant in the 90’s, we used to all go down to Canal Street in Manhattan and scoop up all the Guccis and Fendis. Some of the best purses I ever owned…were fakes.

And employees of those luxury brands are sometimes gifted the bags, and they will most likely sell it cause each bag can be sold for thousand dollars. Some of these bags somehow found a place in the counterfeit market in Europe.

Not sure about those that cost thousands of dollars but the smaller and less expensive items are often neither designed by nor made by the "luxury" brands at all. I personally know someone who manages the office in Hong Kong that sells so-called genuine "small leather goods - meaning wallets and handbags, etc." for multiple "luxury" brands. The said items are designed by my friend's company and made in mainland China or other Asian nations. Besides handbags, you probably already know that almost all the "luxury" branded eye glass frames are designed by and made by one company in Italy. That has been reported multiple times over the years. That being said, I don't believe the counterfeits are made in the same factories as the genuine products. As this video already said, the counterfeits are indeed different from, sometimes better than, the genuine products. Handbags are not high-tech. You can take them apart and make copies pretty much anywhere else.

1. Most luxury items are not really worth the money. They are a way to make people feel like they have made it in life. 2. The manufacturers sell other products that you can't buy and those are the "real" products. 3. if the only differences are the location of the tag or something minor, the product is just as good as the "real " one. A billionaire is probably not going to spend $3000 on a purse that anybody else can buy. Either they don't bother or go custom. There are way more people that are not billionaires that will spend $3000 on a purse and that is where the money is.

This is nothing compared to Shanghai, China. I saw some “super fake” Chanel and Gucci that took my breath away. They looked and felt like the real thing. These bags were never displaced out in the open, but tucked away in a secure place. The sales person would always asked if you wanted to see a higher quality designer *esluxs* than the ones they displaced out in the open. If you said yes, the sales person stepped away and brought you a designer bag that looked authentic.
Bought a knock off LV duffle, had a weird superglue smell inside that was hard to get rid off. The handle starting to tear off a year later. You get what you pay for.

Honestly, I'm not surprised people are buying : second hand , knock-offs and dupes . The BIG luxury companies mark up luxury bags by 70% or more compleate with playing a waiting/ buy more of our products to get a shot at your dream bag game. It's ridiculous! Why waste 100s or thousands or become a target for theft for a bag when you don't have to?! As for me I'll go to my local leather smith to get a customer bag built to my custom color shape leather thickness etc for $200- 400.

I work in fashion and they've been producing LV and CHanel bags in china since the late 90's and then ship them to paris for some final stamping and engraving/finishes and then just slap the "made in Paris" stamp on. For made in Italy is one of the strictest, the product needs to be made Italy by an Italian craftsman. Made in America, 50% needs to be made here. It’s amazing how people are obsessed with “luxury” and extravagance; there’s no difference between a $300 dollar bag and a $30 dollar bag and this video is proof of that, it’s almost identical to the point where is very hard to identify the fake and the real one the only difference is that with the $300 dollar bag you boost your fragile ego and you feel a little less insecure about yourself and allows you to think that you’re better than others just because you can afford a very expensive bag and with the fake bag it allows people that can’t afford the real one to feel like they belong and think society will accept them just because they carry a luxury bag.

@@juicysmith38235 You would be correct. A $300 bag is like a Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Coach, etc. These are nice bags, but not luxury brands. Luxury in this context would be Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Valentino, Hermes, Saint Laurent, etc. These bags are over a thousand dollars. Hermes in particular is known to be especially expensive. Its most famous bag, the Birkin, is known as the most expensive and sought after bag. It can cost anywhere from $8,000 to $650k depending on how rare it is.

Many cheap-expensive name brands items, are made in the same factories, located in the same countries that procures cheap labor, with materials made/build/produce/melted @ same locations. There are imitation that are cheaply made, that will fall apart within days, and there are others that can’t tell the difference, because it is probably made by the same skilled laborers whom made the originals and with the same materials. Often as costumers we are bombarded with opinions by many individuals whom called themselves experts, but many (not all and depending on the subject )are nothing more than a glorified sales person with a sales pitch, with a product build by a third party. Finally, I have family and friends whom often say “Good, cute, and Cheap!” But have also witnessed those things go up in flames (kitchen appliances, cars, electronics, etc…) and get rashes from jewelry imitations too, thus cutting corners might not be a good idea either, and cost you lots more.
That’s not true. They’re not made by the same people.

ONE warehouse had close to a BILLION dollars worth of fakes? What the actual hell. How do people get away with this... It's honestly so sad. I grew up in the fashion and modeling industry and have historically defended fashion brands, but the way these fakes are nearly indistinguishable from the real thing is extremely concerning. And on the other side, if the quality has gotten this good, let's maybe give credit to the workers being underpaid to me these fakes and allow over seas companies to start their own new lines using these, obviously, extremely talented seamstresses and craftsman to make original bags. I think in this day and age, people are willing to deviate from house names and invest in small businesses. The bags are being made by someone. The fact the fakes have gotten this accurate means they aren't being made by machines anymore. In the 90s when I was growing up, you could spot a fake Louis, and especially a fake Chanel from a mile away. Nowadays, even I as someone who grew up in that world and had sisters who both modeled for LV, I legitimately cannot tell the difference anymore without inspecting it in full. At a passing glance, you'd need to be a brand employee to notice anything. I have a trained eye and I can't even tell. That means true leather good experts are crafting these. This counterfeit drive needs to stop. These are extremely talented craftsman, and it THAT was recognized instead of their amazing ability to copy other brands, and they started a whole new brand with new designs, I think it would work. Peole are more invested in brand stories and the people behind the products than ever before.
Just imagine, millions and millions of these new products being incinerated and destroyed and sent to the landfills on a regular basis all in the name of protecting copyrights.
That’s part of it… and you would care if it was your products being counterfeit. It stops the flow of money of which they have found was used to fund terrorist organizations. Guns and bombs and to train men to fly jets into skyscrapers. Do you get it? 🤷🏻♂️

For me, I buy my vintage LV bags from Japan-I’ve actually spent less than what super fakes cost. Ive sent some of them to LV for Vachetta replacement and still comes in less than a new bag. A few years back my husband and I were watching *suluxs* company Personally, I would buy a superfake of a Pochette Metis but I’m too lazy to research the super fake market.

I used to spent on auth for more than $80k before. I was so regret and wished I would know about high quality repliacas earlier so I could save a lot. I have bought more than 7 bags from suluxs and really cannot distinguish the differences between them.
I bought a new LV 2 months ago, and I found that the quality was no longer as good as before. On the contrary, the DIOR my friend bought for me on *hotdups* three years ago is still in good condition.
So I was watching a film called House of Gucci and the issue of fake Gucci bags came up in movie. Basically what was in the movie was that yes fake bags are “bad” but the problem was tolerated….and was very, very lucrative. I was asking how it was known that it was so lucrative by such a legitimate fashion brand? It almost seemed like the fashion houses were involved in this shadow business. So it kind of seemed like some of these legitimate brands were double dipping. Getting thousands for their legitimate merchandise and getting thousands for the not so legitimate merchandise. Is this true? I don’t know, but it’s an interesting idea…..
I've wondered the same for quite a few years now. I also find it sad that people defending luxury brands don't realize how poorly they pay their employees. A friend used to work for one of these luxury brands and had to work a second job just to make ends meet. She couldn't even afford to buy their products, even with an employee discount.
@@flohough1870 it’s crazy that your friend made so little money for selling luxury merchandise. I’ve been in some of these luxury shops and banks don’t have some of the security these shops have. A luxury goods shop in Atlanta had an armed security guard. You had to give them your identification in order to go into a room and look at a bag that they had locked in a glass display case and the bag was tethered to the base of the display case. There were cameras EVERYWHERE. Now if they can do all of that then they can pay their employees a decent salary.
