Lipless Crankbait Tricks You Need To Try!! ( Stop Losing Fish! )

Lipless Cranks are amazing!! Today we're showing you all the tricks you need to know! These crankbaits catch great numbers of fish and they catch giant bass too! They can be hopped, ripped, or steady retrieved in open water, around cover, or along the bottom. With so many ways to fish them its easy to get lost, but not after today!
The lipless is one of our favorite bass fishing techniques. It shines in the Spring and Fall but can catch fish any time of year. Our two main methods are hopping the baits on bottom (what we're doing today) and steady retrieving them in the middle of the water column. The two methods utilize completely different baits and today we're explaining why.
Below you'll find links to the exact baits discussed in the video. We've included our favorite colors for each, the rods and reels we use to fish them effectively, and the components we upgrade to keep our fish hooked. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

  • I watched Tim’s video from about a year ago last week. Picked up an LV500 and absolutely crushed it Saturday. Never have seen to hop a lipless. Caught two 5,12”s, three more over 4 and three over three. One of the most fun days I’ve ever experienced. Learning a lot from you guys, thanks for putting these together!

  • I watched this video and immediately grabbed up my son, hit the lake for a quick trip. We only had 2 hours till dark and we crushed em. Your retrieval worked perfect. I did keep a top water tied on to throw at the ones I seen busting and got one on that. Side note… it was a wired bite they hit every one on the fall and the first 3 I wasn’t sure was a bite lol. Thought I was in the grass are something. Anyway thanks for the tip. Also we only got one little guy 1.5 lbs. the rest was 3 pounders and up to a 4pounder that really had a 6 pounder frame. He was built like a greyhound lol. Thanks again.

    @drivenbyarchery8676@drivenbyarchery86766 ай бұрын
    • That's awesome!! And that's not a weird bite, they'll do that to you a lot. They tag it on the Fall and your next lift turns into an unexpected hookset. I think we only feel that hard thump when they hit it head on instead of running in behind it.

      @tacticalbassin@tacticalbassin6 ай бұрын
    • That makes sense. My son was begging his mom to let him skip school today so we could fish all day. It was his first time catching them on a lipless, but he was unsuccessful well that battle lol. We will be after again next week though. He’s out for a week for thanksgiving and already sent me a list of colors and sizes to pick up for him. Lol. Thanks again we will be watching for more tips.

  • Am I the only one who wishes they sold crank baits WITHOUT hooks and let us add our own? It just makes sense to offer the body and let us upgrade the hooks. Maybe they don’t add much of a cost, but it sure seems like a waste to put cheap hooks on a bait. Take the Stunna for example. The stock hooks are absolute garbage and break off much too easily. If I’m spending that much on a lure, give me the option to put better hooks on it or simply give me better hooks to begin with.

    @live2fishofficial@live2fishofficial6 ай бұрын
    • Not everyone has hours & hours a day changing hooks for 1 reason...2) Megabass vision 110 hooks...u think they are good? Sharp, but they bend out...quality jerkbaits have lightwire, sharp hooks for a reason...use the right line & set the drag correctly for those type of baits

      @andybales7318@andybales73186 ай бұрын

    @cooletti@cooletti6 ай бұрын
    • They only recommended upgrading 2 of the baits. Some just don't have high quality stock hardware but the action/sound/profile is still what you are after. Some stock split rings bend out easy, it's just the reality.

      @Hiphopopotomous@Hiphopopotomous6 ай бұрын
    • Also, these guys always want to be prepared for double digit bass, and it would be a shame to miss out on the fish of a lifetime for a few bucks. With that being said, you were absolutely right. It’s ridiculous that bates cost as much as they do with crappy hardware.

      @ratbird3290@ratbird32906 ай бұрын

    • The 6th Sense Quake comes with really good hooks. In my lake a 7# fish is colossal so I’m comfortable with them. Any hook on a trap or cheaper 1/2oz bait I immediately change along with split rings

      @raytubach8988@raytubach89886 ай бұрын
    • @andybales7318 some of them will barely stick into my finger even if I put pressure. Gamakatsu nano trebles will get stuck in my skin by accident. If I have a bass swiping at a bait, I'd prefer the hooks that are sharper!
