I did something similar once... I was snoozing in the sleeper, when I woke up to being bounced around and constantly moving back and forth, and heard my co-driver cussing under his breath. I poked my head out,"Whats going on, bro?" Looked out the window, and saw nothing but sky... Before he could answer, I said,"Lemme try." Bridge was out on a small 2 lane road we were routed down, and there was a little gravel road, going up a steep hill right before the bridge, with a sign on each side at the bottom. The road wasnt perfectly square to the 2 lane road; we could swing the trailer out the way we came in, but not the other way so we could drive out nose first. So my buddy was trying to pull up it, so he could swing the trailer around to get it behind us. I figured if we just got a little closer to the edge, we'd have enough room to swing it around, through the signs, and head back the way we came. So I backed up, repositioned, and started going back up the hill. I felt the tires slip, sideways, and felt the whole rig lean, and panicked. I popped the trailer and parking brake, and then called the fleet manager, while hanging off the driver door (idk what I thought my 200 lbs was gonna do to offset the 75k lbs of leaning machinery). Ended up having to get 2 semi wreckers. One through a cable around a tree and attached to the tractor, one hooked up to the tandems, and the slid the whole rig sideways a few feet. And then we had to drive backwards back down the hills, back onto the 2 lane road, and then keep driving backwards for 3 miles to get back to the Interstate. 😅 Was a huge pain in the azz. For reference, I was about 3 ft closer to the edge than he was, on an equally steep slope, in a tractor trailer loaded down with 2 layers of golf carts (so my trailer had more top weight than usual). First thing fleet asked when I told them what was going on was,"Is the load okay?" "Yeah, dude. Your load is fine for now. But we're about to fkn DIE!" 😅

A word to the wise You don't ever build your house on the edge of a mountain this is what happens! For starters you test the area where you're going to put your house You drill the side of the mountain all around the area where you're going to put your house You look to see that your house is on rock foundation not soft clay dirt which that's what this person did That's why I have to mountain slid down! And if you're going to build upon a mountain you build and you dig out and you keep digging and you keep digging and you make sure that you are over 150 yards from the edge of the mountain and you build inward not like what this person did and then on top of that to put a pool everything is tied in with rebar to everything what else do you expected of course it's going to come out it's going to rip down the side of the mountain
@LilyandOllieTv10 ай бұрын
The house was built into the mountain side on probably solid ground but the pool and driveway were built on the soft soil cut out of the hillside. The hill behind the house could be at risk of sliding down into the house due to minimal retention efforts and also the whole front front yard and driveway could slide down. The whole street his house is on was cut into the hillside and is prone to water issues. The houses on the opposite side of the road may be at greater risk of sliding due to being built on what was pushed over the edge. Look up Draper Utah home slide issues to see more of the shenanigans developers are doing here.

But we're about to fkn DIE!" 😅
damn that sounds crazy glad y’all are alright
Why do drivers always mention how the guy asks if the load is okay? Like no shit that’s the first thing he said.

You'd be surprised how much help them skid steers can be for us sometimes. It don't always take a lot. Just enough that our trucks aren't straining so hard on the trailer
@@Tacticalsabotage in my experience any time we've put a Skid steer behind our quads it doesn't do a damn thing lol. It just screams and nothing happens. On an incline like that if those brakes fail, that Skid steers going down with the truck. I know this comment is 3 months old at this point but I just gotta add: there's push points on the back of these trailers. Should put the skidsteere blade on the back bumper so you don't risk tipping that side dump. I've seen them tip plenty of times all it takes is to be wet.
Yea I second that. I ran side dumps for a couple years. Wasn't even close to going over. They lift the tandems off the ground all the time

Looks like the surrounding land had all the proper underbrush to contain the soil, but they decided to clear it all out because it looks better. That’s why the house is falling into the sandpit.
Money breeds ignorance, prime example, right here.
Doesn’t this need some sort of geotextile to knit the soil to the embankment to prevent future wash off. Some hydroseeding at least to strengthen the surface of the slope maybe some trees

Just another day at the office! Good job.
That is 1 crazy guy... Give that Man a Beer 🍺 ~ 🍻

That's very honest and not evil of you.
Looks like he wasn't paying attention to the road, haha.
You have to be fairly close, to dump it over the edge
That truck started doing skibidi dob dob😂
I would think you would need something like those big concrete ajax blocks they put on the coast as a sea-wall to stop erosion. Then follow up with some sort of root plants that sends out runners in all directions like the ones in Florida that stop the hurricane winds.
And when a four inch rain comes there will be a huge landslide.

Almost flips the truck, all the side dumps I ever worked with have a tendency to lift the wheels until the load shifts and dumps
He shouldn't be allowed near edges anymore 😂😂😂
You are really very hard working, your eyes tell it.
Worked on a refinery job on the Gulf in Louisiana in 2016, that was the first time they ever saw a side dump. They thought we were going to tip over with every dump. The locals were using end dumps and complained because we were doing two loads to their one. Side dumps are the way to go.
