The landing phase officially begins at 50ft above the threshold - a "low landing" is usually the result of a shallow approach, leading to the 50ft spot height being crossed even before the runway threshold, resulting in a low approach for plane spotters to enjoy.

Fantastic place for plane spotting. I've been there this summer and was lucky to see planes taking off pointing our direction in the same place where you usually see them landing. I have a video on my channel.

I don’t understand the expression “low landing”. Aren’t all landings low by definition and if not why not?

- I think they call it a low landing because the plane is flying low over the people but then yes every landing on this airport is a low landing.

- @@eklhaft4531 No, it's the opposite: Low pass is part of any landing... Usually the low pass takes place inside the airport perimeter, unless the runway is only a few meters away from a local road...
