What impresses me most about this D8, a fully sustained off-piano whistle, is Dimash's boldness in singing it live. In an interview, he was asked if he had planned this note and he said no. He said he decided on the spot. 😳 This song was composed by Dimash for his own voice, which means that, with each performance of it, Dimash improvises some detail... Hug from Brazil! 💖🇧🇷
he didn't decide on the spot, he tried for his usual f#7 or d7 and it didn't come out, so he tried again and sailed past it to the d8. he said it was by complete accident that he hit the d8 note.
@@neamhcridhe6475 in one of his lives, (after the DDS concert, if I am remembering correctly) someone asked him about the D8 and he said he decided at the moment. The result is the same: he didn't planned that.
Dimash wrote this song @ 19. D8 ,speaking to dolphins, lol. He also hit D8 during Dimash & Li Yugang done Drunken Concubine in China. And he goes so deep that you'll have to listen to it again. Li Yugang has a beautiful voice, he stard in the traditional Chinese operas singing the female parts. In days past only men were allowed to perform so young men with a high pitched voice played the female role. He's truly a gifted performer in his own right. Check into it, it's very different than what you're use to.
Actually that note was a F#7 not a D8 he only did the D8 once.

You guys are so funny. There is a technical term for what you call scream singing. It's commonly referred to as a belt or belting. Basically singing at maximum or near maximum volume. That "sound" is in fact a note. It is a D8. Which means a D note in the eighth octave. It is actually one note higher than the highest note(key) on a standard 88 key piano. Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande wish they could hit whistle notes that high.

Just a cute FYI. A little kid went up to Dimash on the side of the stage when Dimash was performing. Dimash picked him up and sat him next to him on the edge of the stage and kept singing. Dimash adores kids.

Not only was that note off the keyboard, he increased the fortissimo, (volume) and put vibratto on the end of it!!! He went from 'f' which is loud, to 'fff' which is really loud - 'It's called Dimash' - that's a perfect explanation - it's called 'whistle' but it is also the highest note recorded - engineers have said it's likely even higher - D9 -again, literally off the keyboard -there is a note in that section that isn't heard, and again, likely because it was higher - Dimash doesn't miss notes or make mistakes - he has 3 versions of many of the songs that were released last year and they're all different - his STRANGER performance that you reacted to, was done in competition, he was unwell and shortened some of his phrasing and the last note was approximately 3 seconds shorter - he went for medical treatment immediately after - Remarkable - you should react to a performance he did in China after treatment-told not to push his voice - the rest of us wouldn't be able to catch our breath and he hits notes that most soprano singers wouldn't - what's funny is, it took you almost 3 full seconds to react!

as one vocal coach suggested, what happened the seconds BEFORE he did the D8? was it so high we couldn't hear it, so he re-adjusted and came down lower so we could hear the note which is off an 88 key piano? Dimash himself said it was not a planned note in an interview. So, what had he planned to sing? Mind boggling.
Well, the note he usually hits there is a G7, which is seriously high itself. I was wondering if the mike had cut out, cause he waved it around a little bit before nailing that D8... which I think was a C#8-D8 slide, but he held the D8 the longest, and with vibrato. What?! 😲😲😲😲👽👽👽👽 Edit to add: Do you think it is possible that it could've been higher than a D8 but our ears couldn't fully register a sound that high...like maybe in the 9th octave (is that even possible?)

Dimash may not be one of the most popular and famous singers in the world right now due to various outside factors (although he is indeed still quite popular and famous internationally), however he is no doubt the best voice in the world in the present time. he is just one of a kind and no other singers can come close (famous or unknown).
