  • Most of the disrespect is deserved. I respect their talent for sure but they have or had questionable habits that need acknowledgment. At least with Dwight Howard, he redeemed himself by taking a lesser role with the Lakers and winning a championship in 2020. He wasnt a superstar anymore but played a key role. Still athletic and was in the best shape of his life.

He's a good dude who works his ass off and put up some monster seasons, he's flawed but does what he does well, well. The only bummer right now is for him to get a ring, Harden has to get one too....

  • About KD: no one should question his talent - if people look at talent over production they are living in a video game. That's why people love an underdog story, the guy who out hustles and out smarts and out plays the guy who is "supposed" to win because of talent. As for harden, he found a loophole in the rule hook and exploited it. The nba refused to acknowledge it and adjust the way the fouls are called for years. Then they joined up and flopped. Both men haven't made it out of the second round of the playoffs in almost a decade. All of their "talent" didn't get them better than thr #9-16 team in the nba. • You went too easy on Westbrook. There are dozens of videos of him boxing his teammates out, and everything else he could do for another stat point. He has a lot of holes in his game. He is a great for sure, there are just a whole lot of complaints people can make that are more reasonable than any other player on this list (other than green but he definitely deserves all the disrespect)

  • I fear James won't ever get his respect any time soon, 2 Game Winners and 2 40+ Point games vs the C's last year IN THE PLAYOFFS as someone who's NOT the first option. Did all this as a 2 at the age of his and all they'll bring up is his shortcomings not hmmm maybe if the current NBA MVP matches Harden then they get past the 2nd round for once?

  • Most people just hate Embiid because he is a 7"0 acting tough all the time, but when he plays he flings himself like a 5"6 guard under any contact. Harden was more respected because he was also a guard and he hunted fauls, whilst flopping a lot less or atleast less blatantly most of the time.

  • They changed BPM not because it was Russ, but because Russ’ season wasn’t so incredibly beyond the league that the BPM number being as high as it was indicated there was a problem with the equation - some aspect of the equation was given too much value… and so 30/10/10 in the old BPM model looked significantly better than 29/9/12 even though you can make an argument it’s less value added depending on efficiency and context They changed the stat because Russ’ astronomically high BPM didn’t match what we know to be the case about his relative status in the league’s hierarchy, highlighting a problem with the way the stat was being calculated… if he truly was as good as the old BPM was indicating, it would have been obvious Imagine if some advanced stat said Luka was the best player in the league BY FAR… we would all know immediately the stat is flawed… which wouldn’t be a criticism of Luka, but instead a recognition of the fact that he obviously has statistical competition for that #1 spot (Embid, Jokic, etc.)… if a player has “arguably” the best season in the NBA, we shouldn’t see stats which say they had BY FAR the best season ever… Using a historical example: if a stat consistently said Ewing was way better than Hakeem, then we know immediately the stat is just flawed, because we know he wasn’t way better… he might be marginally better (he wasn’t) but we know FOR CERTAIN he wasn’t way better… so why is this stat saying so? Because it’s poorly calibrated - some aspect of the equation is being given too much value
