Everyone loves the Subaru BRZ/FR-S/86 (especially the new 2022 Subaru BRZ and GR86). They're fun, agile, spacious, usable, and relatively inexpensive. But they always needed a little more power, or in the owner of this car's case, a lot more. He's put a lot of time and money into his Subaru BRZ to make it as fast as a lot of famous sports cars. Was it worth it?

  • Hey everyone, glad most of you are enjoying the vid! Zack did a great job. So happy I could help kick off bringing tuner cars back to the channel. As far as the smell of fuel in the cabin, that is coming from the factory fuel pump behind the drivers seat feeding the surge tank in the trunk. It could be sealed off better and there could be a panel to replace the missing rear seat. But please remember just because this car has plates does not mean it's a "street car". While it's not a racecar because of the lack of a full cage, I would describe it as a very comfortable track car. To be fair I did warn Zack not to drive with the windows up 😂 I understand why he did to capture good audio but really, what kind of self respecting car guy drives with the windows up? 😂 After all I did ditch the AC in favor of a dry sump anyway... kzhead.info/sun/htJqZJGKeXtpdHA/bejne.html&ab_channel=GrabTheWheel For those saying LS swaps are boring and played out. Please watch some track footage. There's a reason why I have Lambo owners telling me how good the car sounds. I know I am biased but I don't think there's a car new or used for less than 100K that's as engaging or fun to drive on track as this build. For those complaining about the price, I'm sorry the car is not for you. I know it sounds crazy but I'm just trying recoup about 1/2 of what I have into the build. I know that project cars are obviously not worth what you have into them...

    @grabthewheel4217@grabthewheel42172 жыл бұрын
    • First, I'm sorry you have to sell this car. I'm guessing there is a family involved and it just has to be done. I've been doing 'project' cars for decades, and I have two going at the same time right now. Mine are not nearly as expensive as yours, but one big problem remains when considering a modified project car's market value -- it's never even CLOSE. You mentioned trying to recoup 1/2 of what you've spent. I take that to mean hard dollars on parts and outside services for this particular build, with no dollar value placed on your time, nor on all the previous attempts you've made at building the ultimate BRZ -- the attempts that taught you how to get it right with this one. I'll bet the true, fully accounted-for cost of creating this super cool car is staggering.

  • The BRZ/86/FRS steering wheel actually can be pulled out a bit just using the steering adjusting lever, you can push it in or pull it out, I accidentally found this out while in my car.

  • Why get this over a Camaro 1LE? You can see out of this car. I won't be trying to purchase it (I am broke) but it'd be an amazing ride. I'd have to fix that gasoline smell in the cabin though. That'd drive me nuts REAL fast.

    • No doubt. I test drove a 1le prior to my 997 purchase and the 1le visibility is horrendous. I can't believe gm designed that car that way. I'm 6'4" and the 997 fit me perfectly and the visibility is superb.

  • As this conversion is a possible project for me, info on turn in would have been useful. I assume that it's not a lead tipped arrow from what you didn't say but some description of how the front end behaves would have been useful.

  • spent about the same on the brakes as he did on the engine? What can you spend on brakes that is the price of a built engine?! they don't look carbon ceramic. or do you mean price of the mods only, not including price of the engine itself? Does the airbag still work? I've been looking for a steering wheel extender that retains all OEM functions.
