  • The turmoil in Haiti should serve as a lesson to all countries over the world, not to engage in civil war just to ruin and devastated the country.

  • How do ppl see this ànd say leave us alone let us chose our own way? Without outside intervention Haiti will never be properly governed. Never been will never be. At the moment who is in charge? Will the workers be paid this month end?

  • I am Dominican and lived in Haiti 1 year after the EQ. Have many many friends in PoP...blacks whites blancs poor rich educated uneducated...all kind of friends. Haiti really needs the help of USA and France and Canada. Haiti needs foreign investment and jobs to fight poverty. But without law and order rich countries look the other way. I am sure that if something does not happen soon there is a big chance that our beautiful Dominican Republic will become another Haiti...or worse yet there will be a carnage of Haitians trying to cross the border which is totally militarized by Dominican soldiers. Time is against Haiti and against the DR.

    • No external help won't help anyone. That has been tried several times already and lead nowhere. The only way forward is for Haitians to fix their country themselves. No one else can do that for them.

    • The DR must defend itself no matter the cost. And yes, these foreign powers that have arrogantly tutored Haiti and failed all along must change the script, help Haitians rebuild security and order ONLY, stay out and let them cleanse their inner demons on their own...investment and growth will naturally flow again, simple.

    • Doesnt mean it will get better. Ever since their break with France, Haiti has been rocked by violence. Between 1804 and 1957, Duvalier's coming to power, only 1 Haitian president completed his term. I think it was Sténio Vincent in the 1930s.
