    • Then how did Eddie Hearn, a man who knows more than both of us, score the fight 3 times (2 of them with intentional bias towards Fury for the sake of argumen) and score it to Ngannou by 2 rounds each time? How does a man that promotes fights get to that place? how do 9/10ths of the boxing community, both competitors and pundits, get to this place? I Disagree with Uncle Chael in one way here. Boxing is exactly what the said it was. MMA is just that much better. It produces stronger more capable fighters. In this instance, Francis really is the better fighter through and through.

      @HoldForHardFail@HoldForHardFail6 ай бұрын
    • @@HoldForHardFail No idea how you came up with the theory that Eddie Hearn knows more than me, as you have no idea who I am, but that's ok. While I'm not sure if I wrote it or not, but Hearn has been wrong an inordinate number of times picking winners and losers prior to this. Usyk, Teddy Atlas, etc., also scored the fight for Fury much like myself, but in the end, the scoring will always be subjective though this wasn't as close as people pretend. Moreover, who ever said boxers are the best athletes in the world? As American football players and basketball players would be much more in that lane. As boxing is a very specific set of skills and if you have a good punch, as well as a dedication to the art form and being strategic, you can do quite well. When, of course, the more athletic you are, the better.

I also knew 3 people who actively kick boxed as amateurs. Going to a boxing gym or a kick boxing gym for classes was a common thing in the 90's. Maybe it was more common in the uk due to us not having any combat sports in physical education. • If you've watched Furys career fully not just Klitschko & Wilder trilogy, you would know he's had very average performances multiple times (ie Mcdermott,Cunningham,Wallin) he also takes for granted his talent and is lazy with his training & nutrition year round. He's currently over hyped just like Klitschko who reigned 10 years, but beat noone majorly credible with his boring style having been irrelevant in Lewis era & losing too 3 nobodies! What I would say is history shows Fury normally vastly improves in rematches too. Fury took Ngannou lightly his shape & weight gain showed that, his motivations would appear to be money too. Based on round by round punches landed Fury won 6rounds,round 7 was draw and Fury landed more & was more accurate, so its not the robbery most feel regards how boxing is scored, unfortunately a 30% power jab scores same as a 85% power hook which breaks a nose. Boxing needs to evolve its scoring to reflect/reward damaging punches over just nothing punches.

How about Muhammad Ali, who was almost finished and ridiculed by Henry Cooper ? (and basically saved by the bell and his corner who bought time for him to recup). How about prime George Foreman who lost to Jimmy Young ? (who was average at best). Speaking of Klitschko, how about Vitali ? Basically a kickboxer (originally), like Ngannou (for MMA) who decided to give boxing a shot, next thing you know, he forced Lennox into retirement. How about Tyson losing vs Buster Douglas ? (at least that guy was a boxer, still...mediocre in terms of talent). I could go on and on like this. How about Mayweather winning questionable judge decisions ? (vs Luis Castillo, he clearly lost their first fight). And how come McGregor was doing way better than expected when he fought the guy ? Isn't Floyd supposed to be ATG caliber too ?

  • One of the nuances in this mix is surely strategy and preparation,logistics Francis and his trainers has an abundance of video footage of Fury to analyse weaknesses and strengths so as to neutralise and exploit, Fury on the other hand has nothing for Francis what so ever. There's one element. As for boxing, numbers you're from the country with the largest middle class in the world, and boxing is a sport traditionally which has popular participation in majority working class countries like UK, or take that to extremes Cuba, which is likely why you never met a boxer until 28, Just a speculation might be wrong. but it seems common sense. Middle class people value education more,hence you have college sports. No such thing exists elsewhere in any sort of scale comparable.

The military has seen a trend where more recruits, even those that aren't fat, are breaking easier (more shin splints, broken bones, heat casualties, etc.) and it's apparently because kids in general aren't developing their bodies while they grow to the extent previous generations did since they are much more sedentary now. But Fury started boxing at 10 so I don't think he had that much of a deficit when it came to having a capable body as an adult.

They r friends & yet Ariel found a way to even drive one of his buddies crazy with this approach he takes on these things. I wish Ariel could see how he twists these things around to the point where no one wins, and everones loses.. fun approach Ariel 👍🏻 It seems like a big issue Ariel has with a lot of these "issues" is that Ariel focuses way too much on getting back at "the haters" like he thinks he's going to earn respect from people that way?? Idk why Ariel sticks to this tactic? It's not a good look. Right or wrong, it's not a good look. I wish Ariel could be a little self aware & see the little things he does that rubs people wrong. Francis Ngannou is a world champion combat athlete who specialises in striking, an expert in many of the fundamentals of boxing and who has then prepared to years to specifically box, and going to heavyweight, the wildest most unpredictable power-intense striking division, to fight Tyson Fury who is very good, but so is Ngannou, and Tyson Fury had got fat again and clealry relapsed with his addiction problems. The whole thing isn't that surprising and doesn't beg any sensationalist questions. Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury are both extraordinary combat athletes.

  • Its actually simple, this days the higher the weight division in Boxing, the lesser the Boxing Skills are since they rely on Power. Nothing Fury does has much technicality like comparing it to Mayweather for Defense or Pacquiao for Offense. And for Ngannou Camp, in a few months they teached him Boxing Fundamentals. So he closed the gap immediately given that Ngannou also fights in MMA so he really only needed the Fundamentals.

  • The score matters in boxing. It was a close fight and if a judge gave it to Fury by one point, ok, you can see how some close rounds could be Fury, others Francis. If they say EVERY round was Fury, especially if it was a round he got kd’d, they got paid.

  • I think rounds 1/2 Tyson was trying to go for some feints and set ups, wasn’t working. After he got knocked down in round 3, he didn’t want to trade with Ngannou anymore
