Dude, I always feel so bad for Jamie. I feel like Joe’s kind of a dick to him.

They built the franchise around this guy, that tells you how good of an actor he is. I doubt they will be able to replicate the success going forward.
They will still be successful, but spider-man is going to be their last HUGE success in my opinion. The new generation of MCU will never be the same without rdj.

The good thing is that there is still Guardians of the Galaxy 3, another Doctor Strange, and a potential return of Deadpool, but it's not looking anywhere the same as it used to. When Rogan said "How many gdamn Batman had it been?" Then the RDJ responded "Right, I wanna see how Pattinson does." Implying the subtext that he reminded him there's another batman in the making, then he finalized to save the topic by saying "I like that guy" to 'endorse' and support instead of what it was been said to the topic that we had too many batmans. 4:47 “I like that guy” and suddenly I have more respect for Robert than I ever thought I could, you don’t judge the kid because he was a sparkly vampire but on his abilities within the movie it’s self which btw if you haven’t seen the new Batman trailer go and watch because he looks incredible, I called that when he was announced that he was going to be a Oscar worthy Batman.
Dude remember when they announced Heath Ledger for Joker back in 2007, the internet lost their shit. “The guy from 10 Things I Hate About You can’t be joker!” That’s why I always give actors a chance. I wasn’t alive yet but I heard the same thing happened to Michael Keaton when they announced him for Tim Burtons Batman since he was known as a comedian in the 80’s he seemed an unorthodox choice. But he proved everyone wrong as well. So especially around the Batman franchise, actors can surprise us.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Pattinson does in the role. What I think Joe may have been missing is that the role of Batman, as Christian Bale once said, is a torch to be passed on from actor to actor. It's a role that's bigger than any one actor, in particular. It's just like Superman and James Bond, in that respect, so if Joe understood that(which I can see that he doesn't), he wouldn't even be asking how many goddamn Batmans there have been.
The most imoprtant thing for every Batman actor is to have the right jawline and Pattinson nails that one.
Pattinson is becoming so good at acting he's becoming unrecognisable in his films

Smart hulk was actually a character from the comics. He just made it sound like Feige was the one who came up with him. He first appeared in comics in 1991…
"Faster alone, further together" I like that
The phrase "soup to nuts" is a slang term meaning "the entire process from the very beginning to the very end". It stems from a ten course meal, where you would start with the soup course and go all the way to having a handful of nuts as a kind of after dinner nibble with your digestif.

Captain Waffles or he got too high again before the interview. You never know with him lol
i think it’s mind boggling that these actors aren’t fully invested into the source material universe. some have given great performances and don’t even know the major comic stories of their characters. i just don’t get that. i’d be so involved with the stories.
I was wondering if he knew that, thanks for the insight.
@@InvaderG it always bugs me these actors are such normies and don't even understand any of the lore of the movies making them millionaires.

I actually really loved the Doc Green or as its also known Professor Hulk storyline to me that was one of my favorite stories of the modern era. So I was blown away when they finally put it on screen.
It was cool how casual the convo was. I liked it!
This is what makes JRE so great. He can get almost anybody to relax and have good conversation that often has moments of laughter and stories and others of serious conviction or beliefs.
It’s a formula he mastered
Feige didn't invent smart Hulk; writers like Peter David did it in the comics in the '90s. The movies lift almost every last idea from some old comic plotline.
@You Ain’t Shit not really
You Ain’t Shit Oh I thought you meant comics
I had no problem with the idea of smart hulk, it’s just the way it was executed
A little clarification: At 4:25, RDJ was referencing Marlon Brando from "Superman: The Movie" (Original Theatrical Title, btw), not Brandon Routh. Fun fact: When Adam West-the actor who portrayed 'Batman' in the 1966 TV series-arrived on the set, the producers once jokingly announced, "Here he is, the idol of millions!" Nobody's joking in regards to this 'Ironman!!'
Marvel owes a great deal to Robert Downey Jr.
It wasn't completely made up by the writers, "Smart Hulk" was actually in the comics. Look up Professor Hulk comics.
Hollywood and its people have a habit of being given and taking credit for things that originated in the source material. Magneto being a Holocaust survivor in the "X-Men" films was taken from the comics, too, but on the DVD commentary for that first film, Bryan Singer's pal sitting in with him on the commentary gives Singer the credit for that past. And, naturally, Singer does nothing to set the record straight.
Also the Maestro
@RJ i was clapping when widow died, cheering!
@You Ain’t Shit That wouldn't work cause they needed hulk to put on that gauntlet, its the main reason why "Professor hulk" was chosen. If they went with world-war hulk after nat died, thor would've put on that gauntlet and they need thor for the future, they cant injure him at such a critical moment in the franchise.
@@solarydays It still doesn't make this an original idea by the writers. My point stands. The writers didn't invent him. They took from the comics, like many of the movies have and do. Sure they are not 100% true to the source material but they still have the source. Outside that, though I do agree that people do forget that the movies are their own thing and not a carbon copy meant to be true to the comics, as is evident by many comments on this.

I didn't know it bombed. One of my favourite movies of all time next to A Scanner Darkly.
He was great in "U.S Marshalls"
He was good in Wonder Boys as well.
He was best in Tropic Thunder xD
I was really hoping Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was going to be a franchise
No one's talking about how RDJ is wearing a pendant around his neck that has that Tony Stark powercore heart placement and resemblance haha awesome
Hey ^_^ Watch the whole proper uncut interview. They basically start with it.
I think it’s a roller blade wheel
Its a custom made glass peice, more than likely worth around 20k
We are now lol. Holy hell didn't notice that
Joe Rogan brings it up right at the beginning of the interview if you go watch the full thing.
Such an amusing and gifted person to listen to. Seems like a genuinely good person.
Notice how downy is a super respectful person. Not many guests turn as they are speaking so that he talks to rogan and Jamie. Not that other guest are disrespectful but their attention is mainly to joe (his show obviously), but in this vid Downey is constantly directing his responses to both . Just something I noticed.
"I wanna see what Pattinson does I like that guy"
Kevin Morales that got me hyped for it
dude you're literally called like a Colombian friend of mine

The most important actor in the history of Comic Movies. Not only did RDJ usher forth the resurgence of Comic Movies, but he was also the absolute core of the MCU that just couldn't work without Iron Man. I get that he had to end at some point, but damn there was so much more they could have done with Iron Man.
He agreed for only 3 solo movies and other crossover movies with over 10 appearances in MCU movies
I love how he looks at young Jamie as well while he's talking to include him in the conversation
