My daughter, Kassidy, and I love this song. My beautiful Kassidy died on Oct 10, 2021 from Covid pneumonia after she fought courageously for 2 months to stay alive. She was 35 with 2 young children. A BIG piece of my heart died with her that day. This was the first song I played at her funeral. It’s a beautiful song and it captures the love I have for her. I have loved you Kassidy for a thousand years and will love you for a thousand more.

My wife loved this song. She sang it to me when we got married in 2017 and God she could sing. She literally saved me after my divorce in 2011. I lost her on March 27th. This song crushes me with memories of her every time I hear it. For you Vicki, we will see each other on the other side.

I had asked my wife to listen to this song when I first heard it. After nearly 45 years of marriage this song brings back the day that we me and started dating. The good ones seem to be taken first...always too soon when you love someone but the death of your child just feels heartbreakingly unfair. I have no words that could ever make that loss less in any way, all I've learned to do is to not ask "why?" and to try to accept what life throws up, not resist it in relation to the events I have no control over. You will always have your special relationship with your son, nothing will ever change that ❤
in the beginning of I lost my wife of 29 years to heart failure. Later that year I met a woman who lost her husband to Covid. She is 15 years younger and many did not or do not agree with me moving on. But this song mean so much to me as the first time I met her she stood alone outside her work and I told her I was going to stop and say hello. When I met her she was crushed after being married 25 years an alone for the first time in her adult life. I simply asked and gave her hug and told her all would be ok. Never expected this would turn to a love story of the ages. I was so happy with my wife who passed but I have entered the final chapter of my life and I feel so happy in my heart and its because of this wonderful woman and her amazing soul...
My mom died when I was 11. I always listen to this song when I miss her. I feel like it really just expresses how I feel for her. My Nana "her mom" is still recovering. Your never supposed to lose your child. To any of u out there who has lost your child just know it will be okay. If you want to know what happend and how she passed read more. She was in a motorcycle wreck. She was on the back of her/boyfriends motorcycle. She was riding with two other people. Her dad on his motorcycle and a friend on his motorcycle. Her dad's motorcycle malfunctioned and he couldn't stop. The motorcycle she was riding on flipped over and she fell off. Her friend on his motorcycle ran over her head. She had a broken jaw. Her skull was cracked open. She was in a coma for 7 months. Her brain was messed up. The doctors said that she probably wouldn't wake up. They said if she did that she wouldn't be able to do anything on her own. She would have been paralyzed. They gave her medicine to try and help her wake up and it helped a little. She started moving her eyelids. She then just stopped. Then passed.
Tell me I'm not the only guy that has tears welled up in his eyes. I don't connect the song to any past lover, any child etc... I'm just overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of it. After watching the studio version, which floored me, I found this clip and I'll tell ya... for me the Earth stopped rotating on its axis for ten minutes.

in 2009 my dad died from cancer, it was around his throat, in his lungs and the treatment pretty much made him unable to take care of himself. it was a very painful loss given i just became an adult as he died. I will miss that big lug, one way or another. it's very sad.. we tried our best to give him a long life but this decided to take it all away. he was just turned 50 when he died.. still far too young, despite being a normal age to die 200 years ago. it's still way too soon. My heart goes out to those who lost anyone. please take care and don't worry.. They are still with you every day.

It's been 2020 for the past 5 years, so yeah.
After getting divorced, it sucked for a while but then I found the best girl. We had 2.5 years together before she was diagnosed with kidney cancer that she battled for nearly another three years. She passed away in 2018 at the age of 45 with two kids...this song always gets to me. Hold on to what's important because it can be taken in an instant.
