This was a really nice episode! Thank you from Berlin for all these nice lessons! My English pronunciation has improved so much! Not only that, I search for terms much less often! And I really like the humour and your short dialogues from the "side stage". Another ninja coming out of the shadows :-) I am a conference interpreter for French and German and lived in Paris for a long time. This podcast brings back a lot of memory and enjoyment I used to have for Sherlock Holmes series. Thank you so much. So now I'm rewatching all seven seasons played by Jeremey Brett, I used to watch the dubbed version when I was in primary school on my small TV. And what makes me even happier now is that I can understand what the characters are saying better.

Hi Luke. Your channel and this video that KZhead recommended me is one of the best findings on the Internet for a long time. After ten minutes of watching I have recommended it to my students. Because you read the story and explain it very well and there is also a text in front of the eyes to help. That makes understanding it quite easy even despite the 19th century language. I feel like my storytelling skills have improved a lot😊, since this time I guessed right from the start what was going to happen. I remember well my teen self being frustrated by how wrong my assumptions were any time I was reading those mystery tales. Fortunately, I don't retain anything plot wise about these readings, then I can't spoil my enjoyment! And now I repeated to myself "If it were me...if it were me..." and it played out as if I was writing it myself😂 Adulthood is scary at times, isn't it?

Such a brilliant story and comments 👏 I enjoyed a lot even though listening to those old-fashion English words was really challenging, specially at the beginning. Also, concluding the story, Luke emphasizes that Sherlock did his work "to escape common places of existance" which is a beautiful and somehow sad metaphor. It reminds me also dr. House, popular serial and character with a brilliant mind, who also was depressed and unhappy in his ordinary life.

But I would like to suggest you for something that you can do while narrating the story is to also explain meaning of difficult words so that next time whenever we listen to these videos again our understanding improves.
