I swear, I have no idea why "Why is Gamora" funny. I'm a serious comedy fan, have been forever. I can get why so many jokes work, even the ones I don't exactly like, but that one always confused me. Of course Drax takes words literally, and that's his character. Many jokes about that works. But that joke in particular is not funny. Ah well, enjoy it.

Fun fact, the I am Iron Man in Endgame was also improvised. Feige basically told RDJ something along the lines of “This is your exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You are dying now. You want some memorable last words. Make it count.” RDJ improvised it 13 years ago to kick off the MCU, and it is perfectly fitting that he improvised such an iconic and grand-finale-esque callback as his final goodbye.
Killmonger's "Hey Auntie" is a greeting in every black person's household so for him to use that line as a burn is so nice.

No one gonna credit the camera man who was able to react to the "Why is Gamora" so well. Like he didnt know he was supposed to record it but managed to perfectly anyways.
He probably said that line and they laughed then did a retake to get the camera on him for it

I feel the most plausible explanation is the fact that they just used multiple cameras and could get different angles. that way, in editing, they can take the angle they think fits best, and nobody yelled "cut!".

I really like the “Hey Auntie” line. It’s just a little touch that really highlights Killmonger isn’t just African, he’s African American and more deeply connected to his lived experience as a Black person in America than his Wakandan heritage.
Killmonger is a joke… but because BLM was a thing at the time..is why BP was forced in. Good is we all now know BLM was a scam. Thus none of these dumb characters will be seen again. Maybe start new interesting characters that happen to black.

Saddest thing about Peter Parker’s “death” during the snap is the reason it took so long was because of his healing and also he could feel EVERYTHING so it was very painful.

@@loz1991 The only thing close to Madrid up is me talking about the suit, which because it's an advanced suit made by Tony stark, I figured it'd probably have some kind of healing ability, maybe to stop blood from flowing out or something of that nature. But Peter does have an advanced healing factor. It's how he recovers from bullets, broken bones, cuts and etc so fast. Kinda part of the spidey superpower set, in every incarnation and version but zombie
“I am Iron Man” is one of those eternally memorable movie quotes like Keanu Reeves “I know Kung fu” or Arnold Shwarzeneggers “I’ll be back”. I find it hard to believe it was improv.

The I am Ironman is my favorite and how they used as Tony's last dialogue saying it before doing something that actually is the most selfless thing in his life is just PERFECT. I actually had goosebumps when i first watched it. Like it was just so satisfying seeing the same words uttered in different points of Tony's life.

Only reason he didn't is the original purpose of the Iron Man armor. There is only one other movie that has made me cry that much han solos death and that's hard to do!
My favourite improvised scene is the scene in endgame when vision says to Wanda “you could never hurt me.” They were told to improvise the scene so we got real emotions in the final take.
One of my favorite ad-libs came from Robert Downey Jr in The Avengers. Tony's line, "That man's playing Galaga" was improvised on the spot. Joss Whedon liked it so much he added an image of Galaga to the computer screen Tony points at.

It's also a trademark Waititi very clever stupid joke. It's a dumb story, but it's also derived from a typical Loki story from Norse folklore. And if you've seen Waititi's other films, you can almost hear him tell it in his NZ accent.

As much as I love RDJ, the real King of Improvisation was Robin Williams. I suppose since he passed, perhaps the title needs to find a new recipient. RDJ is great but there is no one yet who can top Robin.

Tom Holland hugging RDJ is not only funny, but kinda sad when you think about it. Spidey just wants a hug! Fr tho, that scene just shows how much of a father figure Peter thought of Tony.
And it eventually set the drama for their hugs in Avengers Infinity War and Endgame.
It helps that we've seen Uncle Ben die a couple times, so we can feel the unspoken implication. Kinda heartbreaking. It honestly never occurred to me before that Raimi's Spidey 1 and 2 are both about Peter looking for a new father figure, only to have it go horribly wrong. "Is success my new daddy? Is science my new daddy?" Now I think about it, in Spider-Man 3, rage becomes his new daddy.
as far as i know, they taped that scene four or three times before, and Holland came up with this to mess with RDJ, but he over-messed him.

Another great unscripted moment was the Wakandan’s chanting in Infinity War before the final battle. They had just wrapped Black Panther, and the Russo’s had no idea what they were doing, but it was so charged and exciting, they were blown away by it. Love that moment. Wakanda, forever. Long live the king. ❤️

Endgame’s “I am Ironman” was actually a suggestion by an editor when they felt like the scene, where he wouldn’t say anything, didn’t feel finished.
Tom’s improvised line for Spidey really had us crying and wanting to bring him back. Whatever it takes.

I love how there are so many payoffs that come from improvised lines. My absolute favourite is the fact that the “we’re not there yet” line about hugging is brought full-circle when Tony interrupts Peter’s breathless recap of his return on Titan to just wrap him in a big hug. That nearly had me in tears in the cinema 😭
The hug is just a footnote. Big part of their Endgame hug is becuase of Tony's strong affection for Peter. His first words once he came back to Earth was, "I lost the kid." And 5 years since the blip, after having turned down Steve for the time heist, seeing that photo of him and Peter changed his mind.

My favorite unscripted moment never makes lists like this. It was in Thor when Odin is about to banish Thor and Loki steps in to try to reason with his father. Odin just growls at him. That response was unscripted and the look on Tom’s face just seals the whole deal. Love Loki in that movie…

As Nick Fury starts to dissolve in the trailer scene for "Infinity War", he says "Mother-". I think Samuel L. Jackson holds the world record for number of times someone has said the MF word in movies.

The last time he said that it was also a last minute change. I forget who it was but allegedly they had tried a bunch of different comebacks to Thanos saying "I am inevitable" and after the first day of trying to shoot that scene someone other than the screenwriter, director, or Downey came up with it, told the brothers running things his idea, and they immediately got back together to do it. It was so perfect. The way they put everything in place over all those movies was so well done.

The hug adlib lead to one of the best moments in Endgame. Heart meltingly brilliant.
The "I don't wanna go" line was also based off of an acting technique Tom Holland used. He said that when he needed to cry for a scene, he would repeat a phrase in his head over and over. He said it out loud in this scene and it made it into the movie.

In GOTG, Pratt accidentally dropped the orb containing the power stone, but he was still in characters so the directors kept the scene in the movie.

As big of a fan as I am of the MCU (and I’m a massive one), I somehow never knew that “I am Iron Man” in the first one was improvised. Iconic.
I think there's a new number 1: Webb-verse Peter telling his other counterparts he loves them. Garfield add-libbed that one. And it carries a lot of weight: Its a Spidey telling the others he loves them. Its an actor showing appreciation for his fellow actors. Its a Spidey actor showing love for his successor and predecessor. And its a Spidey fan telling two Spidey actors he loves them, cause Garfield is a big Spider-Man fan.
I absolutely love how you can see the confusion on banner and valkary's face as thor is telling his snake story. Its so funny! and then it pans back to loki and you just know he's trying to hide his laughter.

Another “adlib” can be found in Thor when Odin is banishing him to earth. Loki is trying to appease Odin by telling him to be lenient and Anthony Hopkins just barks at him to shut up. Stuff of legends

Ya, but you forgot the part that happened afterwards😂😂 Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, was genuinely scared for a moment there. When he was backing away, the look on his face was 100% real
The saddest moment in the MCU ? "I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go. Sir, please- please, I don't wanna go !" Dammit. There's something in my eye 😢
That part had me because Spider-Man has been my favorite since I was a kid in the 90s and he's supposed to be just a kid in that scene and his Spider Sense was going off, making it feel 100's times worse. I was balling.
i think about the "i am iron man" scene almost every day and knowing that it was improvised in the first movie makes it better. like that line is the first and last line for iron man
Taika Waititi could be the best thing that happened to Chris Hemsworth. Chris seems to be a genuinely funny, wacky personality, Waititi can put him to really good use.
"Bitch please, you've been to space!" and "I'll do YOU one better. Why is Gamora?" may be two of the best gag lines in the entire series. I am so pleased that they're improv.

Iron Man had so many ad-libbed lines, given that the script wasn’t even finished while filming. I’m surprised there aren’t more Iron Man entries here. Some of my favourite were “Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave with a bunch of scraps,” “Well I’m sorry but I’m not Tony Stark,” and “I’m being responsible for the company.”
I like when the actors not only throw in a joke moment but the directors say "eh what the heck, let's roll with it" and add something onto it later on, like Wong listening to one of Beyonce's songs following Strange's Beyonce line

One of my favourites is from RDJr. "I'm gonna sit here, so you move the leg" in Spiderman, when Tom Holland forgot to move his leg out of the way😁 and they left it in the movie.

The idea that peter didn’t wanna go is a good canonical fact that peters spider-sense told him something was wrong and thats why he knew he was dusting before anything happened. Also in far from home his spider-sense wasn’t working because the dusting was so traumatic that his mind made that the baseline of his sense of danger
I feel the "I am Ironman" line was more than just a line to the in-movie audience, it was a line to the world that RDJ was Ironman... and now he will forever be seen as that.
"I am ironman" was scripted in IronMan. it was improv in Endgame.
Going from running from the police with a revolver and cocaine and also breaking into a house...then getting clean...then this big comeback with Iron Man. Man that is such a great story.
@@kingsharma1310 actually wrong, it was improv'd in both. They had to re-film the scene with the press so they could get them to act suprised and immediately start firing off questions to fit it into the movie. He was supposed to recant the story and hand it back over to Rhodey. Even Terrence Howard confirmed that in a press junket.
