  • Honestly i wasn’t mad about the Rose V Carla fight itself. Boring fights happen so be it. I was more confused by her corner and Whitman trying his best not to contradict her husband coach and really thought it was laughable how she yelled I’m the best at the end of the fight like she was going to get a champions decision on the entire fight. Her post fight I could also see rubbing people the wrong way.

If the fighter not agree with the "calibration" of the scale, there are 2 more available so it eliminates the "bad scale" complain.

  • I 100% agree w/ Ariel about appreciating these top-tier fighters even when they have an uneventful fight. My main complaint is that it should have been a draw. Same with both Schevchenko-Nunez fights. The judges should have more of a right to score 9-9 and 10-10 rounds and more fights should be called a draw, imo. Woodley-Thompson 2 should have been a draw. And Rose should retain the belt!!

    @bazdaniels7420@bazdaniels74202 жыл бұрын
    • I felt he was way too defensive of the inactivity in this fight. Most of that coming from Rose and Carla being "legends". Regardless, the fight was genuinely awful. If its a 3 rounder on the prelims, ok, nobody notices, nobody cares. But for the stakes they were fighting for I feel some if not a lot of the criticism was completely warranted. It wasn't just a bad fight- it was probably the worst title fight it modern ufc history imo.

      @bazdaniels7420@bazdaniels74202 жыл бұрын
    • @@bazdaniels7420 oh I know tbh no one deserved a W in that one. The reason I don't think a draw would be good in this match is because someone if not both deserved a punishment and that Loss serves as that. I'm harder on Rose because as the champ you have to dominate or fight hard and show why you're the champ. Although Carla did do more "damage", barely, I don't think l she earned the belt and the crowd let her know. However if it was a draw, Rose keeps her belt and the only loser really is Carla. I think to call it a draw or no contest and strip Rose of the title would've been the best way to go about it.

  • I don't understand what the confusion is regarding the 155 belt. The issue is that the UFC has not been consistent historically. The way I see it, whenever the champ enters the cage, the belt is vacated and the winner gets it. Because of the weight miss, Oliveira was ineligible to win it and Gaethje was. Because Justin lost, the belt is vacant. Charles is still the No. 1 and will fight for the belt in his next contest.

  • Of course two non-fighters who only watch this sport for the wwe storyline’s have no idea why rose caught the most flack. So let me explain, Rose showed in that “fight” that she had no problem stuffing take downs and was by far the better striker. So the ball was in her court to make something happen and she didn’t hence why she lost. At least Carla tried things, failed almost every time but she did try much more than rose did. Rose literally coasted and while they both deserve flack there’s no question roses performance deserves more. Now is it all roses fault? No her coaches could be to blame too, I mean fat Pat Barry was literally telling her that the crowd booing means you’re doing the right thing 🥴

    • Good take. probably some residue/flashbacks from the first fight. That "I'm the best" chant from Rose is just cringe now to me. she thought that takedown at the end won her the fight or something. happy wedding to carla🎉

  • The part that makes the least sense about Oliviera missing weight, is that he was the exact same weigh an hour later. Like not even 155.4. Or does these pre-historic scales only work in increments of 0.5? SMDH

    • Carla is super overrated, she is still in the game because MMA-judges still overvaluate takedowns with zero control or damage. Look at her last 5 fights, 3 SDs and one MD, if you watch it back, you see that she didn't won those fights, she got them gifted by the judges. She is a paperchamp and very delusional. It was a disgrace rewarding her with the title, as the most passive contender ever.

  • I actually think people are being too harsh on Pat Barry too, not just Rose and Carla. They trained to take Carla's best weapons away from her, which they did. People booing does mean that what they trained for worked, and it also showed that Carla had no plan-B. I know a lot of people thought the comments from Barry and Wittman were contradicting, but were they really? Barry was happy with the defense game, and Wittman gave Rose the thumbs up to increase the output. Rose and her team did their homework. Carla won due to octagon control, which still doesn't mean that you were more dominant in a fight, either. Rose didn't want the center. There was no fight for that octagon control. Carla spoke in the post-interview that she's had a few of these type of fights. Carla is lacking the ability to adjust or implement a plan B. Rose had the ability to throw more, and she easily could have... Rose lost to Rose.
