Mate a 3.5MW wind turbine costs £3,000,000 and produces 7,000,000kWh a year, in 2022 to UK consumed 275.24 terawatt hour of energy that is 275,240,000,000,000 kilowatt-hours. You would need 39,320,000 3.5MW wind turbines, as of now the UK has 11,000 wins turbines and produced 75,000,000,000 kWh we would need to we would need to x4000 our current wind electricity capabilities and it would cost (going by my 3.5MW turbine model) £117,960,000,000,000, that is £117 trillion, 960 billion, the current gdp of the UK is £2.2 trillion. So I don’t think a couple grand will help build a win farm friend

It actually is that easy, start by scrapping the most ridiculous loopholes like the one Jeremy hunt used to avoid paying stamp duty by buying 7 properties simultaneously. Then move on to the property tax caps which mean houses worth 10s of millions pay the same rates as houses worth half a million... why not broaden the scope of the tax system, what about a trust tax for all those old money families avoiding inheritance tax generation after generation.

Privatisation, low taxes for the rich, obscene levels of private wealth and public squalor in the form of crumbling and under-funded services often not fit for purpose, stagnant wages and weak unions, none of which Labour will change. It accepted Thatcherism under Blair and Thatcher described 'new' Labour as her greatest achievement. Labour is in lockstep with her philosophy and has no intention of reversing it, hence why Britain is in a doom loop.

We can't just 'rejoin the EU'. The EU has stated they won't even CONSIDER an application until the question is settled, i.e. when all parties agree and there is a clear mandate from the public we want to rejoin. That's why Starmer is saying closer alignment in the next parliament, not rejoining - he couldn't even if he wanted to. Maybe if more people had understood how the EU works, or mostly hadn't been lied to, we wouldn't have left in the first place.

Considering this is titled what you'd do differently, I was really hoping for more concrete policy. "More doctors", "more police" is something every party promises, it needs to be explained where the funding for that comes from. The super nebulous promise of "growth" is increasingly hard to believe when you're cutting back on your promises for all the big capital investment projects that would create growth. I wish you'd stick re-comitting to HS2 in full there as it would fit with the "build a better britain" theme, though I know why you don't, though I do think it's cowardly to kowtow to NIMBYs. The GB energy thing here is the only actual concrete proposal here in the whole video which is good in itself but disappointingly sparse, especially given how we don't know the way that entity would function in any reasonable level of detail.

(Ive been a lifetime Conservative voter). 1. Will you scrap the changes to the spouse visa requirements? 2. How much are you going to INCREASE taxes by to offset the wage increases?
Maybe there's little need to change tax rules, if you just stop alot of the tax avoidance and evasion. He can't say that, though, can he? - it would frighten off too many potential Tory voters.

100% If they want to "build a better Britain" they need to start by solving the issues that are destroying it in the first place. Mass immigration is the hole in this sinking ship. @Dragonaut111 when our tax system was being built it was constructed in such a way that once your net worth exceeds normal you're basically beyond the scope of the tax man, most billionaires pay lower taxes than their lowest paid employee. Its simply a matter of your accountant figuring out which of the many loopholes best suit your circumstances and exploiting them to their full potential. I'm talking about trusts, I'm talking about moving assets "offshore", and I'm talking about non dom status. The entire system has been designed to keep poor people poor and keep rich people rich

Starmer seems keen to build a bitter Britain with his current foreign policy on war crimes and his "clarifications" on his policies. His local representative is running very scared at the moment. A new non-local MP foisted onto an ultra safe Labour seat causing upset in the local machine, they will be aware of the non-local interests pursued as an MP by now. They still turned out religiously to vote for the party as per usual. This religious zeal may not be so dependable in the climate of war.

As a young person who wasn’t really taught about politics and doesn’t follow whatever party their parents did, how on earth do you decide who you want to vote for!? I look through the comments on here and almost everyone HATES labour, so I click on a conservative post and everyone commenting HATES conservative, so I start looking at other smaller parties and everyone commenting tells me if I’m voting for them I might aswell be voting conservative as they will just win on votes unless a vote labour.. how do I decide for myself?! Is it even worth voting or is this country just absolutely screwed either way?

I'm working class, I work 48hrs a week to survive no time and not enough money to live. I've just had to sell my car because insurance is so high and other bills. I can't get a NHS dentist so I have to go privet which makes me skint. But you will do nothing you pr.cks.

How? Will Labour change the laws on buy to let, then build our communities council houses and up north? So our councils have an independent income stream separate from the government that can be invested in more council housing for the working poor? Will labour re-nationalise our healthcare system and services, so our NHS isn’t being charged through the nose for the buildings they once owned but now have to lower care standards, underpay the boots on the ground just to be held to ransom to pay for rents? Will labour start changing the National curriculum to teach technical skills that used to be taught when I was growing up like: Home Economics, woodwork, metal work, mechanics and household electronics? Being able to cook to feed families, to balance the books, to repair clothing and learn household management skills are an essential part of our future generations lives. More finance and a little law needs teaching in schools over RE, sexual delusions, algebra etc. Is labour going to Bring back YTS’s? We need homes for our working class pensioners, our families. Children need stability, families need stable incomes especially when raising children or in their golden years. We need more land turned over for housing and active travel and less land turned into car parks! The health of the nation needs to come before the ever increasing size and number of personal vehicles. We need to get rid of WORKING TAX CREDIT/benefits. Why are we paying so corporate executives can have bonuses if they can’t pay their staff? A single basic income should Pay enough to cover the basics of raising children (roof over their heads, utilities, food and clothing). We need more people to have children in this country but who can afford to be a stay at home mum? Who can afford childcare? We need to go back to basics and learn from the past!

Democrats/labor main principle of governing a country is to increase taxes make more "free" government programs funded by the tax payers. And increase the ammount of benefits people get and you will pay for. Overall the working class suffers more. Conservative party usually is in favor of corporations, they have the incentive to keep the inflation and taxes as low as they can which trickles down to the working class.

Labour must do something with the private monoplanes of the utilities, inparticui the water companies. The target must be to renationalise and put into not for profit trusts. The parasitic shareholders must be removed. The so called regulator is not fit for purpose, fine these companies for poisoning our waterways, and all they do is up the water bills to pay the fine, and carry on paying the private investors.
Taxpayers can’t afford to prop up the privatised utilities any more. I don’t want socialism for private companies.

The water, energy and train companies manage to make a profit, despite the shareholders taking a large slice of the profits. This government can't even run a railway. The government subsidises all of them one way or another, while the customers get ever rising bills. The UK exports its wealth into the pockets of foreign investors, money lost to the UK economy forever. Only a fool believes that the investors do not intend to take out far more than they put in.

I and most of my family voted Labour until after Brown, as Blair/Brown did nothing for the people (except CAUSE austerity, import cheap labour / lower wages & suck up to the EU)!!! Starmer is nothing but Blairs Pinocchio, who can't stick to a policy for more that 24hrs and is so indecisive / weak he'll surrender to the EU to make the decisions for US! If you vote Labour you'll get back door open boarders, less housing, less schools places, less wages, more imported crime with Blair / Von der layen puling the strings and that'll be the LAST of the minimum vote/voice /say the public have now!

All in good time. If they gave it all way now, the Tories would promise to do more (and then do the opposite again if they get in). Starmer is playing the strategic game very well - to attract voters away from the Tories he has to appeal to them.
As a Labour voter I am astounded in the number of election promises tory boy Starmer has gone back on. Then not voting for a ceasefire in Gaza I don't know how this lot will be any better than the tory bunch.

I could not agree more @oxenford539, the tories appear morally bankrupt and need to re-invent like “new labour” did. But I cannot even get any any sense of “how” from the labour web page. “Things will be great because we will grow the economy” is just around bite. In a democracy if you have a preferred side (I don’t) it is still best to have 2 effective parties so if your side is out, at least the economy does not get quite so broken!
