Angus: print it in clear My brain 5 seconds before: GET A HAMMER
This thing looks insane! My first thought for solving was to map out the maze with tape around the outside, but using a magnet seems more fun :) Thanks for the shoutout on the Lock Puzzles!
Haha the first version did have the path on the outside too but... Too easy!
@@MakersMuse how do I put the ball back in after solving it
Chris Ramsey would be proud of that intro.
He should send this puzzle to Chris Ramsay, I'd love to see his video on it.
so true
@@rexdavis8086 definetly...I love to see Ramsay solving Puzzles that I already solved in less time than him X-D and I'll be getting this one for sure!
I was just thinking the same thing!
And to get a proper rating he could also send it to Mr. Puzzle.
You should send one of these to Mr. Puzzle and Chris Ramsay! They love solving puzzles!!
Is this an escalating puzzle arms race against MakeAnything? :D
Wonderful design Angus! 👏😎
This is amazing, I am definitely printing this myself.
Angus, this puzzle is awesome! Great job! Your mechanisms are always inspiring.
Yup this is the puzzle I asked about in the 700k AMA!! You made use wait quite long!
Awesome design. Very well done Angus!
Nice! I saw the video where you used the new puzzle to talk about the elephants foot. Awesome to see it in action!
Thanks! Can't wait to print a few of these for my students to try.
Awesome work Angus, I plan on giving it a try as soon as time allows.
It'd be cool to see the lockpicking lawyer tackle this
Nice click out of ball one..
"The unseen path" sounds kind of mystical.
Another great puzzle Angus! I can't wait to print this!
That is an AMAZING design both visual AND engineering! I really enjoyed 3d-printing optimization and it is lovely to handle HOWEVER! it came out a very simple puzzle like 3..4/10
Love the Mamath Unbox Fox in the intro. My missus has a big one sitting right next to her PC and I had to do a double-take when I saw it.
Did this for my bro for Xmas. He solved it in two minutes...need a harder puzzle. Fun stuff, love your channel
Given the fact that Angus has teased this puzzle in some way for months, I am still impressed.
Hehe yeah sorry for the delay, needed to get some real world testing in due to the fact it's a 24hr print in place... don't want it fusing on people!
@@MakersMuse 24 Hours! Holy Crap!
@@170makes9 0.15mm layers and lots of small details! hehe
My prints are on average > 24 hours because I do zero ornamentals. Got a new name for you: Maker's Fuse.
@@MakersMuse I own an Ender 3 and over the past 3 years I've gotten it super dialed in thanks to you and chep!
underated chanell. this is truly amazing, just got myself a ender 3 for christmas. am exited to try your stuff. greetings from germany
Awesome intro, and AMAZING end product! Great work Angus!
That's diabolical, I love it! Nice work :)
Very good design and printing. Great job. Like your design and models. I also start making models last April inspired by you and other designers. Thanks a lot. Have a nice day.
I love this, what a fantastic idea! =D
That's really awesome thank you.
Ahhhh I look forward to trying this print, it looks so fun!
This looks awesome! I am going to print it as soon as possible. Super excited to solve it
Got mine printed and solved. Ended up almost solving it by accident just rolling it around and got it open. My mom was also able to get it open with a similar method. I really would love one with a more complicated maze style path with dead ends and such. Great Puzzle!
This is your most impressive production to date. Just awesome. Of course the Ender could do it 😈
Yay, some design again finally! :) Awesome stuff
OMG... I just printed a modified sphericon just a few weeks ago, this is amazing.
The music on this one is amazing!
This is so awesome!😲 Totally blown away by how much effort and thought you put into this. Truly a next-level PiP model! 👍😎
very cool! nice work!
You should send one to Chris Ramsey
Would be cool if the „key“ was stored inside and accessible once you could unscrew it partially for the first time.
That idea has potential, good thinking!
If I was Angus, I'd be refreshing my e-mail inbox waiting for the money to start rolling in because his hard work in designing such an amazing model and puzzle deserves it. As an evil uncle, I'll be grabbing this soon to torture.
Awesome intro Angus! well done
AWESOME!!!
In clear with the RGB looks so satisfying
wow, this is amazing!
Hello Angus and everyone else. Watching your videos got me to buy my first 3D printer. Got it yesterday, and of course the only thing i could do for my first print was the MM stress test. Had to restart it 3 time after it completed about 5%. Because of all ive learned here and on 3D PN i was able to troubleshoot early and solved the probleme i was having. Wish i could show a picture of the result, apart from the bottom layer that fused on the 0.15 and 0.2 (wich was easily fixed after the print) it came out perfect and that was on 200US printer. Next print "Easter torture egg" Keep up the great work, thanks for everything.
Excellent
Angus and Devin having a friendly war on puzzles is astonishingly cute ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A maze ing, especially the evil "I'm open - well, almost - try again" part :). Love it.
Thank you very much for this genius puzzle.I printed it and "solved" it. It's really the most diabolical puzzle I ever had! ;)
👏👏👏👏👏 I'd like to see a standalone role play video of you or someone attempting to solve it within an hour and doing an ending accordingly based on failure or success. Seems like the 100% rage quit rate so far makes a success ending unlikely.
I can solve it fairly fast now through memory but it could be a fun stream haha
That intro is epic! Great print
Best video on KZhead!
If you scaled it up to a .75" ball would it be big enough to fit a 3090 inside?
You can't fit non existent things in reap objects
@@aasid2446 what better to put into an impossible puzzle box than something impossible to get?
Printed it in polyalchemy silver and gold, and it looks rad as hell. Solved it after some frustration. Love the concept!
Great work, Angus. I do think that as a challenge to you, and as a way to make the puzzle more accessible, an unlock or alternate disassembly mechanism could be devised (pulling the inner wall in, causing the ball to drop, for instance). Unless your magnetic approach is fairly straight forward.
Hey man i bought the .stl file and i orderd some 1/2" ball bearings. I remember hearing about this project a while back and was looking forward to it coming out. Cheers!
Awesome! Good luck 😃
Nifty intro. Wish I had my printer set up. I'd love to give this a shot.
I think this channel should be called maker's maze now
By accident I took it off the build plate, moved it around a few times and up and down, and the ball came out. Took 30 seconds tops. 🥳. Will try to get it back to the beginning now. Great puzzle.
The ball isn't supposed to come out
It was a great print but I expected it to be more difficult, maybe you could add some dead ends in a v2, that would be evil! But you made a really great job and it makes a nice display on my desk.
Awesome
Nice!
Wow cool
Great full
You probably should finally try to learn OpenSCAD. Maybe in conjunction with a solidPython lib. It going to unlock craziest parametric and procedural designs!
I got it open after about 3 days of messing with it off and on. Maybe 30 minutes of actual time spent on it. I did have an example of the puzzle to look at to understand where the ball needed to go. So that was and advantage.
Hear me out, you should try printing 2040 extrusion beams and attach them to the existing machine, essentially printing the printer longer (you could also try the z screw). Ive tried it on an ender 3 and it somehow worked, and I now have a 300mm tall z axis.
Interesting. Can't imagine it being a robust add-on, not requiring regular replacements.
Amazing intro lol loved it brotha
Send it to Mr. Puzzle he will surely solve it.
I second this suggestion!
Or indeed Chris Fix
Can we get that @chrisramsay collab?
aMAZEing!
Looks awesome. Ím a geocacher and I have printed some 3d puzzles and I just wonder about this puzzle if the ball falls out when you open it and if so is it difficult to put it back to lock the puzzle. Like your videos very informative
i love watching your channel and have for years, being an orphan and child in care it was a dream to have a 3d printer but never could so watched your videos that kept me entertained, i turned 18 in august, got a job and happy to say got an ender 3 v2 3 days ago! im just curious what would people recommend for tuning? i want to purchase some kits to 3d print parts for 3d printers for children in care like i was and for a charity focused on helping young orphans, so need a pretty precise print any help would be great :)
#Chris Ramsey totally needs this puzzle! Chris Ramsey would love type of puzzle. Puzzle solving joins 3d printing world what could be better? Let’s see the video!!!!!!
Neat I may try it once I get my darn springs for my ender bed
Oh my god ,you have to send a copy of this to Chris Ramsey and do a colab
Just don't put the ball in and reverse "Engineer" the path. Or stick it in the oven at 200 for 3 hrs (Just to make sure). Great video. Keep it lit.
Just bought the design off your website. Looking forward to getting the printing started. Can you share a link to where you bought your 1/2" bearings from? (Aus link is fine) Also - would a smaller diameter bearing (say 10mm) also work...?
I purchased them off an aus ebay reseller, they had lots in stock and shipped quickly. Can find the link later!
Hey Angus! Can you make a video on how to stop rippling on the ender 3? I got the ender 3 for Christmas and am having some issues! Thanks!
Angus, could you hide the magnet inside the puzzle? Like they have to solve it the natural way first but then it allows them to loosen it enough to access the magnet. That would be pretty devious!
Yeah you probably could! Quite devious indeed
Amazing that in 3D printing community Ender 3 became like a benchmark baseline. "If you can print on Ender 3, you can print with any printer"
Angus comes back with something amazing. Hopefully no one will put an engagement ring inside the puzzle ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Damn - thought this was going to be a Fusion 360 tutorial overload!
Chris Ramsey has to get a 3D printer now
This is so cool ! Question though- if you solve the puzzle and extract the Ball bearing, how do you reload for the next person ?
Cool puzzle! I found a half inch ball in my house so I might print this! How long does it take to print? Do you mean a day to print as in 24 hours?
Haha looks like a Chris Ramsey intro. You should send it to him.
Very cool design. But i wonder if a metric version could be made availble too. It's very hard to get inch-balls in non-USA areas. 10mm vor example is a very common size. Thx
I wonder if The Lock Picking Lawyer would be interested... You'd need to use a ceramic ball 'cos he'd immediately find that exploit :)
Actually... Ignore that. I seem to remember that he dislikes puzzles.
An analogy might be "Hey! You're an electronics engineer. Play Minecraft; that uses electronics!"... I'll get my coat.
great design ! Bravo ! about tolerance: how to improve it ? it's perhaps an idea for a new video ?
Probably a dumb question. Should I glue the base onto the part? I managed to get mine apart after about 15 minutes. Now to put it back together and get the ball bearing back to the start.
So I printed this, my friend actually solved it...but not before breaking off the knob on the bottom. However is there a way to reset this puzzle so that more people can enjoy it's beauty?
Send it to "Mr Puzzle" on KZhead.
Happy ball bearing at 1:55 :-)
If one has a resin printer so it prints upside down and will not be able to add the ball during the print could one possible print it then add the ball afterwards?
Hello Angus! I hope you'll see this, as I'd love to purchase the .stl.. I have a question regardnig the puzzle. If you manage to open it, do you need to backtrack the puzzle or is there an easy return to closed?
Hi! Yeah, the puzzle needs to be solved in reverse to reseal it
Create more of such stuff! I am willing to buy such cool things from you. It'd be cool if you sold fusion360 tutorials of how you create these models
ive just bought the files and about to slice.... should i use netfab to fix the issues in Prusaslicer or just let it auto fix the model and slice it? Thanks
Awesome design and video. Please send one to Chris Ramsay
love that intro
I made this. Handed it to my wife, with no help and without the magnet. She solved it in under 8 minutes. I need a better puzzle
Jeez calm down satan, hahaha
Can you please try to 3d print something other than puzzles, like make some 3d printing hacks or some tips or trick because I feel like you only do puzzles
