Chris (vocalist) wrote this song for his then girlfriend (now ex-wife) after her dad passed away. She was so heartbroken because she had very close relationships with her father. That’s the reason this beautiful song called Fix you. Tried to fix her broken heart

  • I'm 11 and I just lost my dad to cancer. This song was played at his funeral which was last week and I am fed up with crying. I'm so sensitive to anything that reminds me of my dad and I cry almost every night. The thought of him not being there for my 12th birthday is horrible and I'm going to miss him soooo much, he means the world to me. I have a 17 year old brother, an 18 year old sister and a 4 year old brother who also have to go through this. My 4 year old brother was wondering why he hadnt seen his daddy in a while and he thought that he went on a long trip but last week he told me not to cry because daddy is up in heaven now. That killed me inside. And my mum only married my dad a few months ago so she's a widow and a single mother of 4 children. Certain songs are beginning to give me strength through this time - they are My Emortal, Fix You, Human and Full Circle because that was my dads favourite song.

  • Nobody understands how much this song means to me. I lost my father back in October and it took such a big toll on me. On his birthday, April 25th, I had ordered wishing lanterns, which you light up and send into the sky kinda like a mini hot air balloon, and I was going to write a message on them and send them up into the sky. When my friend and I were preparing the lanterns this song came up on my playlist. The lyrics "lights will guide you home" and "tears stream down your face, when you lose something you cannot replace" mean SO MUCH TO ME. When we were releasing the lanterns these lyrics popped up in my head. I was wishing that they could reach somewhat close to wherever it was that my father was. My father was home to me and he could never be replaced. I miss him dearly. But THANK YOU Coldplay for making this beautiful song. I will be seeing you in August and cannot wait for this song to play.

I loved someone for 20 years-then cuz I got diagnosed with a mental illness after having our 2nd daughter, he filed for divorce and I spent almost 3 years fighting for my kids in court-WITH NO ATTORNEY! Thank God for karma. He thought I was too stupid and poor that the only way I'd see my kids is with supervised visitation. On September 6, 2017, I won getting more often and consistent time with them-NOW UNSUPERVISED. I also won the religion war-and I loved watching him squirm in his chair. I love karma-especially when you don't expect it. 😀😀😀
