This is good content choice. Why don't you review Transformers Prime. Rank characters, consider favorite episodes from that show. What portrayal of Megatron was your favorite. That Optimus may have been one note, but his strong sense of justice and morality was great. The Optimus in ROTB was fun. This is war, so Optimus is going to kill. I do feel that the deleted scene where is executed that Decepticon was too ruthless. Your points on why he went after scourge were right.

He was extremely intimidating and the fact he would have been able to actually beat Optimus if not for Sam doing some trolling is actually quite terrifying. Then he became a fukin Disney villain with a gun for the next 6 movies. He really REALLY should be cooked up by the reboot before showing up. Hell I won't mind the third reboot movie only teasing his character and instead have something like the DS Transformers game where it's a small but deadly group of cons being sent to infiltrate earth.

Alot of people forget that Bayverse Prime was pretty chill in the first movie and it's only after he came back to life in the second one that he became a psychopath. I'd like to think it's because he saw his more 'heroic' version led to him not being able to save his comrads and ultimately led to his death so he had to be a little more aggressive.

Also, opimus should always be trying to convince the decepticons to join the autobots, a perfect example is prime trying to convince dreadwing, skyquake, megatron, and starscream to join the autobots in prime, optimus's strongest weapon is his words, and him not trying to convince or reason with a single decepticon to join the autobots shows that both him and the decepticons are poorly written for the roles they play in the story

Although I have not seen Bumblebee or RotB, I can already tell from the clips that his viciousness is justified. Like the clip of him killing Scourge shouting "I'VE HAD ENOUGH" sounds more like he's just become completely fed up and snapped in the heat of battle, whereas Bayverse says "give me your face" and rips off the Fallen's face as if he actively enjoys killing there.

I like bayverse prime, I got into transformers through the movies so he’ll always be my boy (plus the memes are hilarious). But reboot prime has more of a character and gives me some idw/tfp optimus vibes, and that’s pretty neat.
I think Bayverse is more realistically written. The way he acts and the way he fights reflect on how heavy this whole war thing is on his shoulders.

I honestly like both, I grew up with bayverse prime however the rebooted prime feels more accurate to the animated series and feels like an actual character rather than a killing machine.
Bayverse Optimus almost always goes for the head and that is the most mercyful death because it's quick and painless!

Bay Prime had a strict code of honor, and started out a lot softer. Only after enduring a lot of different losses and hardships over the course of multiple films did he slowly deteriorate into a violent and short-tempered psycho. ROTB Prime, on the other hand, is shown in a deleted scene to be actively hunting and killing Decepticons (and dumping a giant pile of their corpses in the river). On top of that, he’s ridiculously hostile towards humans out of some stupid, out-of-character xenophobia, and he immediately develops a bloodlust against Scourge during their very first fight. ROTB Prime is literally a psycho from the very beginning, and yet people are seemingly praising the new one for being more in line with the original G1 depiction? Bay Prime was an honor-bound veteran commander with a lot of emotional baggage. ROTB Prime was a poorly written simpleton who responded to anything he didn’t like with threats and violence. Gotta love that giant exposition dump Mirage has to give us just to explain Prime’s feelings and motivations… rather than just, you know, letting the audience work it out. God, I hate ROTB. They somehow managed to take the same generic Bay movie formula, and made it substantially worse.
The reboot definitely showed alot more emotion, but I must say Optimus in ROTB was defo nerfed cus he was taking on multiple decepticons, doing flips, with quick reaction time but in ROTB he was lacking.

As I respect for the Bayverse Prime throughout the years since childhood-teen years, now as an adult, I think we all know this round goes to Reboot Prime. This feels like this is the Optimus that we all know in his time, and it’s more courage, bravery, strong heart/caring, leadership, and not too violent unlike the Bayverse Prime. Yeah, both killed Decepticons and Terrocons, as well as Sentinel Prime and LockDown. But reboot gives a credit to win this round.

I grew up with Bayverse prime and after watching transformers shows for the very first time I like those versions way more than the live action because of his character and father figure aspect which was lacking in the Bayverse. I mean in TF1 when he was in a rush to find the glasses he was respectful

Reboot Prime offered Transit the choice to live if he gave up his ship, but Prime killed transit because transit provoked him, and Prime killed Skurge because he killed Bumble Bee in front of him. Bayverse Prime told the big wheel decepticon to say his last words and executed him. Grindor's last words before Prime ripped off his face were "No Prime, please...", not to mention what he did to The Fallen, Megatron and Sentinel. I am perfectly ok with Optimus killing the villans and you are right, they deserved it. What I am not okay with is that the hero brutalizes his enemies without mercy. Prime could hace decapitated or stabbed Grindor in the head, but he ripped his face off. Prime saying "Give me your face" as he rips the face off of the Fallen was just unnecesary and brutal. In the novel, Prime accepted Megatron's truce and Sentinel was taken as prisioner, but in the movie Optimus choose the violent way to end the war instead of the peacefull way and ripped Megatron's head off and then shot Sentinel twice in the head while laying defeated in the ground and beaging for his life. Optimus signed a deal with the US goverment and Megatron signed of a deal with the RTF and a bunch of decepticons were imprisoned with charges, this means that human laws apply to Cybertroneans, including the Genneva Convention. Because Prime killed Big Wheel and Sentinel, this makes Optimus Prime, Mr. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, the hero of the story, a war criminal. Just because they deserved it doesn't mean that the "good guys" should rip the faces of their enemies. War is brutal, but it has rules that soldiers must abide to, like for example, not killing wounded/defeated enemy soldiers. Big Wheel was laying in the ground wounded and defeated with no way of getting back up or escape and he had no weapons. What the Autobots should have done is to take him prisioner, or if they wanted him dead, Optimus should have just shot him in the head in the highway. Grindor was dead ither way, but there was no reason to rip his face off in such a barbaric way when Optimus could have just cut his head off or stab him. Yes, Sentinel and Megatron deserved to die, but heroes are not suposed to brutally execute the villan, no matter how much they deserve it. Megatron offered a truce but Prime did not even considered it as an option and chose to axe-murder Megatron. Right before Optimus shot Sentinel, Sentinel said "No Optimus!", meaning he was beging for Optimus not to shoot him, but Optimus showed no mercy.

In rotb, Optimus was struggling the entire time, and he only managed to get the kill because scourge was distracted

Bruh bayverse prime smiled a lot of times,plus he had a reason to be brutal,like seriously he lost jazz in tf1,he got killed and lost a autobot of sacrifice to give prime a upgrade in rotf,he lost autobots in dark of the moon and earth was about to be over and with a lot of people dying by decepticons destroying everything and being betrayed by sentinel prime who was his role model who literally started the destruction with the humans dying and teaming with decepticons in dotm,he lost half of the autobots that got hunted and killed by the cemetery wind and lockdown in aoe,and in tlk he became nemesis prime and almost killed bee because of that,So don’t say that he is too creative with his kills when he lost a lot of his friends and autobots

I’m happy we’re not done with Reboot Prime just because I want to see him finish that arc. I felt frustrated with him the whole movie because he just seemed angry and not controlled. Bayverse Prime may have not have had a very moving arc but his flat archetype felt inspiring of just how dedicated he was to protecting humans and fighting for freedom. As of now, I prefer Bayverse but I’m sure it’ll change with the next film.

Transformers 2007 Bayverse Optimus Prime had to witness his first lutenist Jazz get killed by Megatron then nearly killed by the same guy. Transformers Revenge of the fallen Optimus Prime has to deal with Megatron again then dies then has to deal with the fallen who nearly killed him. Transformers dark of the moon he brought back his mentor just to get betrayed by him have his weapon specialist Ironhide killed and Megatron comes back and nearly dies and loses his arm. Transformers age of extinction his medical officer Ratchet die then deal with another powerful character Lockdown imprisoned and Megatron comes back even more powerful. Transformers the last knight Megatron comes back again even more powerful he returns to his home planet just to see it destroyed his “creator” Quintessa turning him into nemesis prime nearly killing Bumblebee sees most of his team get killed off has to kill his brother for the third time and then if we got another movie he’d have to deal with Unicron while trying not to destroy the earth so all that in the span of about 20 years any person sane enough to keep fighting for what’s right would become a pretty mean person. I know it’s not official that he killed Megatron in the last knight but the movie implies that so that’s what I put. So yeah Bayverse Optimus Prime went through more than reboot Prime probably ever has and will go through.
