  • The best think of this SimCity 3000 soundtrack is that it makes you focused. I think that's because the overwhelming tasks and the complexity of this game, that without the right soundtrack music, people will feel so bored to play. That's why this soundtrack is very good to keep you more focused to your works.

  • For some reason, being relatively young and having played Simcity 3000 as a kid, this soundtrack pretty much sums up the late 90s/early 2000s vibe for me. A lot of Jim Carrey movies have similar sounding soundtracks, with the xylophone and woodwind and whatnot. It's eerily nostalgic.

    • For some reason when thinking about "city" music, just listen to Fifth Ave from the Meet Joe Black Soundtrack. It actually sounds very similar. That jazzy type sound, the whole soundtrack would probably fit a Simcity game...

  • I like how the whole soundtrack is kinda tied together by that recurring motif from Sim Broadway. The melody is reused in many tracks, but it's usually subtle enough that it isn't annoying. Its quite smart actually the way it's intertwined throughout the score. (although there is at least one time where it feels unnecessary and distracting)

    @k-leb4671@k-leb46713 жыл бұрын
    • I've known about the motif for a while, and I still didn't notice that it shows up in Illumination too, starting at 58:20. It's altered very slightly, but it's the same progression, and I love the song even more now. Which song did you not like the inclusion of the motif in?

  • A masterpiece of a soundtrack, I love every track to death, but “The Howling Wind” is a totally underrated gem that I wrote off completely when I first heard it as a teen. But it just clicked with me one day. It sounds like blustery day in musical form that suddenly stops to a dead calm. Until it suddenly roars back in force like a gale that catches you by surprise and blows you to the ground at 1:37:34 for the climax and ending. It’s one of my go to tracks whenever I listen to this album.
