There is no controversy about Muslim getting no quota. Its simple - Indian constitution does not allow religion wise quota. There is however caste based reservation to correct the perceived atrocity of ages ago on lower castes. Muslims are still equally eligible for economic level based reservation like any Brahmin, Rajput, Jain ,Sikh . So what is the noise about ?

Smita Ji, it's sad to see you drifting away from your role of an unbiased anchor/pod-caster. In this podcast you acted more like a BJP/PM Modi's supporter, defender, promoter and a mouthpiece than as an unbiased anchor. Your alignment with the BJP Govt was very glaring in your questions as well as your demeanor. Of your total of 167 podcasts so far, I must have watched, at least, 70-80 of them. Your performance, in all those previous episodes, in terms of your knowledge base, your homework, your communication/expression, your logic & reasoning, your non-alignment, your mannerism & body language, your focus and your comprehensive coverage, has always been at par excellence. To watch your podcasts, has always been treat to the eyes & mind and, for this reason, I will not shy away from saying that I am a big fan of yours. BUT, Smita Ma'am, what happened to you during this Episode 167 with Owaisi Ji? How come you forgot that you have to play as an unbiased podcast anchor (which you always have been) and not assume the role of a typical interviewer, shooting politically-biased questions [at Owaisi Ji,]. Watch the episode yourself again - carefully & objectively please. You almost went on to justify BJP/PM Modi''s wrong-doings or even the un-ethical utterances. You went on to invent new justification for PM's unethical remarks such as "Ghuspetias", "Community with more children", "Mangalsutra snatching from Hindu women" and "Re-distribution of wealth in the society" etc. Remember, what you said? You said that the PM wanted to explain some highly technical words listed in Cong Manifesto (re-distribution of wealth, inheritance law etc.) to illiterate audience and hence he [Modi Ji] used/interpreted phrases like the above to exemplify & illustrate the matter. Wow, Modi Ji interpreted Cong Manifesto in simple words and YOU interpreted Modi Ji's interpretation! And then, on many counts, you went on to justifying BJP/Govt policies and actions over last 10 years. Why Ma' am, why? Why did you go on to display your tilt, bias and alignment so blatantly?? I am not saying that you should not have this tilt or bias with BJP/Modi Ji. Have it, by all means! But, let that be at your personal level. Do not show, exhibit or utter that bias when you are sitting in the anchor's chair. And, one more thing: the podcast was of nearly 2 hours duration and you spent nearly half the time hovering around BJP/Govt/Modi Ji's issues/policies. Wasn't objective of the podcast to explore various facets of Owaisi Ji, his background, his views, his political orientation, his contributions and his message to the viewers? Why were YOU trying to impress upon Owaisi Ji the goodness of UCC, CAA, Triple Talak, Closure of Madrasas, Abrogation of 370 etc. etc. Better would have been to know his (Owaisi Ji) view on all these issues rather than pestering him to accept all these as good. Ma'am, think, think and you will realise that you have faltered this time - unknowingly, unintentionally or subconsciously perhaps! Its sad that a senior, well accomplished and very well revered journalist like you has to stoop down to these low levels. Well, after all I have said above, I will try to brush off and forget this episode as an ONE OFF occurrence and continue to admire, appreciate and watch your podcasts.
