Some fans pointed out that Akuma dishes out the damage, but also takes more damage. Capcom did say that Akuma, and even Oni, needed to have this handicap for gameplay balancing purposes. However, I don't recall them saying it's canon that he takes more damage. I guess that explains why fighting against an AI controlled Shin Akuma and Oni, as hidden bosses, in SSF4 was tough. They didn't seem to have lower health pools.
Remember Gouken said you can't fight the influence of the Satsui No Hadou and there's no turning back. He was correct on the no turning back, but the overcoming it was kinda wrong. Gouki managed to overcome it. It only altered his appearance but not his overall personality. Notice that he doesn't attack the weak nor the defenceless.
Finally. Someone that gets the character. In SF Assassin’s Fist, Gouki even mentions that the old masters had it wrong. They gave in to the Hado. Gouki controls the Hado. He has achieved what he set out to do and has mastered the way of the Satsui no Hado.

Street Fighter x Darkstalkers: One thing you may not have considered is that Akuma's base form is literally his older self from Street Fighter III: Second Impact & Third Strike. Who's to say that he hasn't had the time between SSF4:AE and SF3:2I (including SF5) to train further and gain control of his Oni abilities?
It's going to be wonderful seeing Akuma interacting with all our avatars. The look on his face as all sorts of bizarre entities with the most inconceivable of proportions waltz into his cave. And that's before he has to do ballet with Manon or buy Blanka-chan dolls.

The only issue I have with Akuma lore is that like 90% of people hit with the Shun goku satsu are still alive after or have had literal hacks to survive it. Love his character though and use him in whatever game that has him

to this day I wonder if somewhere, someone was able to play as Ryu and not be hit *at all*, and then being able to fight Bison without ever being hit there for ten rounds. Its absolutely ludicrous to think this could be real, but you can bet your ass tens of thousands of players attempted it. Imagine being that gamer and finding out it was a joke. Surprised you never covered the hidden Japanese text Shin Akuma has in Super Turbo II X. It's overlooked since most people play the american version which does not have it.
Assassin's Fist is the definitive portrayal of Akuma's origin in my book. If anyone here hasn't seen it, I highly recommend looking it up! It's free to watch on KZhead. The finest Street Fighter live-action film, hands down (admittedly not a high bar). The canonicity to the games is debatable, but it's as faithful and loving as an adaptation can get. For anyone who doesn't care to see it and wants SPOILERS (not my recommendation), I'll mention that it suggests that Ryu, a foundling, is actually Akuma's son, conceived after his father transformed into a "demon" (perfectly portrayed by Joey Ansah), explaining Ryu's mysterious innate connection to the Satsui no Hado.

@@TopHatGamingManChannel Thats not how names work. Sure, other words can be pronouced in several ways, but names have one correct way of pronoucing them. It's Ree you, not Rai you. Just like John is pronounced Jonn and not Joan.
Sure it is, my name is Richard and when I visit Greece they role the R. I don't complain about it though and the way a Scot pronounces it to someone in the South East is very different too. For the record, a Frenchman pronounces John very different to Brits.

There ARE different ways to pronounce the same name, but each person has one right way to pronounce theirs. If a person is born in France and is called John, then the french pronunciation is the right one. If a person is born in England and is called John, then the english pronunciation is the right one. If the french person went to England, and I called him John in the traditional english pronunciation, I would be saying his name wrong.
@@TopHatGamingManChannel This comparison is just entirely false because it's not an accent issue, it's a pronunciation issue and those two things can be related but they aren't inherently related. Usually when accents result in an incorrect pronunciation it's a result of the person with accent having a native language that is incompatible with the correct pronunciation. Your accent here isn't incompatible with the correct pronunciation, it's just that the incorrect pronunciation was just sort of normalized in western countries. I grew up in the states where "Rai-You" was also the more common pronunciation when I was younger but it's not because of the American accent, it's because people looked at the spelling and went "Y makes an EYE sound". Tldr, it's not an accent thing, you're just saying it wrong.

You kind of forgot about Akuma being featured in Resident Evil 2 as a special character to play and in a special mode Maximilian dood actually paid off a couple modders to dig deep into the file and they ended up finding it and made a mod for people to try it out on originally you had to play the game six times beat it six times get a rank and everything and you had to do it all with a knife once you've done this you had to go into a computer in a lab and type Akuma and then you could start playing with him apparently he shoots Fireballs he can punch instead of knife he can even do a shorter you can and when he's pushing objects he's doing the tatsumaki senpukyaku he's even strong enough to kill Mr X in 5 hadoukens and apparently they like to put three Mr x's in a couple rooms and with this mode there's a special ending you can unlock by killing eight special NPC zombies which includes characters from the Resident Evil 2 game like irons Leon Claire Sherry Annette Aida is a really interesting looking at game it's funny that a lot of people were left thinking that it was only an April Fool's joke only for it to actually be true sadly we're only finding it now because the final product of the game had a glitch in the code so no one ever really ended up finding it even if they did the conditions

You have no problems pronouncing Gouken, so why do you pronounce Ryu as Rai-yuh and Akuma as Akuuumah? You spent 40 minutes on lore and canon crossovers, yet there's no mention of his fight with Gen, and most importantly, his real name Gouki?
You mean his Japanese name. Akuma (which he's pronouncing correctly) has always been his only name everywhere else. And Ryu is not an easy name to pronounce if you've never heard it pronounced correctly, because the spelling doesn't match. I used to pronounce it the same as him.

What if Satsui No Hado was used not by human being, but some… object, like katana? I have an interesting concept for new Street Fighter character: Tsumiki Arikawa - the last member of the Arikawa clan and the wielder of katana, cursed by Satsui No Hado energy. The Arikawa clan is a clan of assassins who eliminate anyone who use Satsui No Hado techniques by the cursed katana, currently owned by Tsumiki. As the last descendant of the clan, eighteen-year-old Tsumiki vowed to end the hunt, began by her ancestors, and kill the last known and the most famous master of Satsui No Hado - Akuma. Tsumiki’s cursed katana has “Raging Shogun” - a technique similar to Raging Demon: Tsumiki ran through the opponent, slashing him by the katana, and after when she put the katana back in the scabbard, opponent is being hit by numerous attacks and one powerful blow in the end. If the opponent is defeated by Raging Shogun, the ten (heaven) sigil appears in black screen with Tsumiki and her opponent. Yup, Tsumiki is supposed to be Akuma’s rival.
