Chris Price founded the Croydon Boxing System, a unique and effective style of fighting that combines elements from old and modern fighting systems, focusing on the traditional English method of mixing boxing and wrestling. He developed his system at the Croydon Gym in south London between 1978 and 1988, as a response to the harsh reality of street violence in Croydon, a place notorious for mob fights and knife attacks.
Price's system is not like anything else. It is based on his personal journey, research, experimentation, and results. It is a testament to his passion, skill, and vision.
In the 90s Chris was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, and in the 2000s he closed his gym to pursue another passion of his, long-distance sailing, before becoming too weak for it. With time and the progress of medicines, he was able to cope with the illness although in a weakened state and a partially paralyzed leg. In 2017 he became active on the website Quora where he shared his knowledge to avoid it being lost, his elaborate answers got millions of views, and he started having online and in-person seminars.
Chris Passed away in 2021 after his long battle with Cancer, but before passing he shared Practical Boxing with Coach Walter.

  • So it's a Renaissance of Classical Pugilism? That had punching, kicking, throwing and joint locking? Nice.

  • Its crazy how one style can lead you to another before you know it. I was influenced by guys like JCVD, Bruce Lee, and Jackie Chan which made me lean towards karate. Then Steven Seagal movies got me into joint locks and throws, which helped my friend to convince me try jui jitsu with him, which led me to doing mma, which made me fall in love with boxing and wrestling...wow what a wild ride 😂

  • At 12:40, from a Mushti Yuddha perspective, I would generate power from above around my head using a swing, landing on the back of the head in the region of the occipital lobe.

  • Holy crap the swings mentioned at 10:15 are so similar to the ones I have seen in Mushti Yuddha, which also has fights against multiple opponents! The parallels between so many systems are crazy!

    • If you follow Karate Combat, Luke Rockhold actually KO'd his opponent with picture-perfect swing on their last event.

  • Still in living memory, it was considered a civilized way of settling a dispute. Or more like two angry people agreeing that this is worth a little scrap, but not dying over. That manner of solving problems has died out in a lot of places because it’s learned amongst children.

  • Hello Master! I saw your upper body muay nam stance in your website,I saw a few problems. I just wanted to ask if I could fix those problems and make a similar stance and call it my own?

    @Nebula680@Nebula68017 күн бұрын
    • Adjust the stance as you wish, the stance is personal and based on you and your way of fighting. There is no right or wrong stance as long as you know what you are doing and it works for you against competent opponents.
