    @oddlyn25@oddlyn2515 күн бұрын
    • It's clear heat culture isn't working because every postseason they have the most injuries because they work their players so hard during practice. A lot of players don't want to go to the heat like for real their best players spend most this season injured because they work so hard during practice

      @Lemonpepperwett@Lemonpepperwett15 күн бұрын
    • @@Lemonpepperwettnah man. heat culture works, because the heat took a game of boston (of all teams) without their star im not a miami fan amd this will be a hot take: but butler never was THAT guy. he is really really good in the playoffs, but his lackluster season guaranfees bad playoff spots and makes other players stretch their health. then he stretches his health after christmas to compensate for them, and then, everybody is hurt when it matters. butler had that one super great run against the nuggets, but he never gave y'all half of what he is attributed to. 27/7/5 isnt good enough when youre the only real star on your team, as harsh as that sounds.

  • Thats not the entire story though: While its something for a blockbuster movie. I dont know what Kidds strategic brain orchestrated before or during the game but Kyrie led the team during (atleast) the first half, which is why they werent trailing. It didnt help PG couldnt buy a bucket but neither could the rest of his team (although Harden and Kyrie seemed to be playing chess). That the Clips were defended by the dogpack didnt help ofcourse but Kai really was an emotional leader. He had like 12 pts by that point but the things he did to show the Mavs to the light were priceless (and his finishes at the rim straight up fatalities). Luka on the other hand wasnt the superstar people tell in post-game, he had a cold and looked feverish, his knee a serious injury cause he was limping and grimacing in pain the whole damn time during brick-shots. Yelling at the refs nonstop and almost went haywire during a beautiful steal by Kyrie where he passed back to Luka but his knee gave in and he fell hard. Kyrie got the ball back made a awesome pass to a big following the pack and finished it. Just before Luka wanted to go mental to the ref not calling his fall, Kyrie was there to guide him to a win with a hug, Luka looked so happy, like he realized how close he was to getting a tech or worse and realized what was at stake and how easy it is to focus on reality and positivity with good reliable teammates that help you get up and carry you when you need it. Something I bet Luka was not used to since he had to carry so many so often even at his young age, only to fall hard when he loses balance. They were very consistent and strong and just played awesome basketball. And before you knew it, they were 20 ahead. And stayed ahead. Luka turned so happy he seemed to actually forget his knee pain. And his jumpers started falling through the net again after a lot of painful forced bricks. He shouldve left the game in the 4th but I guess he wanted to savor every minute of what was maybe 1 of his favorite games ever. I just hope it doesnt cost him his knee and game 6. Cause they could win it all the next time in Dallas. Well, the first round ofcourse, but as everyone knows who have been actually watching more than highlights, this series was special. And if they win against OKC, The Nuggets, and The Celtics. Man oh man, thats gonna be a movie for the ages, AND I CANT WAIT!

    @JuliusSpin@JuliusSpin15 күн бұрын
    • even from highlights i could see parts you were describing.. but thanks for the long recap.. i can totally see some things you are mentioning.. luka needs support and he can go a little further.. but.. it really must be very hard for him... coming this far, with a better team and effort and chanegs they did in the last few months.. and he ends up with this injury, sth out of his control.. not being able to ride the wave properly.. must feel soooo frustrating.. i think he is also pissed as he feels he was deliberately targeted for injury.. (who knows).. i would love to see them going further.. and celebrate this moment with them.. for all of them, kai, luka and others.. but.. i have a terrible feeling this is not going to happen.. since his injury will not get better if they keep playing, plus it will get only more intense as they would potentially move up.. even if they win this Clippers series.. what then? Rest Luka for a couple of agmes with OKC..is that even possible? ...i mean ... they almost need a bit of luck from the basketball gods.. maybe.. who knows... but...

  • every time Superstars try to join teams they only get worse with team quality. it will only harbor what role players are capable of while decreasing defense capabilities with superstars. it will also make people un aware making it seem the league is only getting better when there are only so much possessions in a game on both defense and offense. Spurs was pretty good about it back in the day a long with Celtics. Clippers trading players for more offense when only needing 3 pointer players, few tall players with a play maker. its like NBA is trying to test things around and its not working until an under appreciated teams shine using basic NBA teams. Kawaii on Raptors was a good team to beat having it all. some players having more in their tool belt is nice but to help with what their capable will ease the stars but also lose more possession's on shots when it matters.

    • Finding the right mix of talent and teamwork is key in the NBA.

      @GOATiology@GOATiology12 күн бұрын
    • yes, finding teammates with more under their toolbelt of skill weather your moving the court, pacing, court awareness, knowing when to help, increasing the teams offense and defense percentage and presence, increasing opening options, ect. also overvaluing stars can also punish energetic talent to having a team that works together. Defense now a days is undervalued shutting down players another thing young kawaii did before he got paid the big bucks. back when teams make a lot less was when nba was goated to keep trying their hearts out. now its all about the bag. @@GOATiology
