It does matter. DJ is just the GOAT
Didn't he retire last year?.
Then just be a goat. EZ
@@ddssrr1614 how much of a casual are you?💀
@@jeffrey3329 asking a question automatically makes you a casual now?
It did matter. DJ’s skills was the equalizer or more of it.
That 4'11" guy's a tank!
Demetrius Johnson, he's one of the GOATS of MMA.

It's crazy how big of a size difference this is. You can see on DJ's double leg, he literally couldn't finish it due to his opponents size considering how deep he was. DJ is just the goat.
this is not size comparison actually. It should be their height differences
0@
Size does matter, so much, that's why these are so impressive...
@@jojo2767 Moraes definitely have weight advantage, too, lol.
@@zorioncosima7786 Incorrect. Moraes weighed in at 134.5. DJ weighed in at 134.75. Actually DJ was slightly bigger than Moraes. Again, alot of you are equating height with size, which is incorrect.
Dj is forgotten about over there in one by a lot of people but he's right there at the top of the p4p list. Dudes an animal and as skilled as a fighter gets. He's fighting guys that outweigh him by 10-20 pounds right now.
Way more then that. I am 5'8" and I was walking around at 170. DJ walks around at 140.
@@EricGraham1987 how is this relevant
@@frenchfries2424 How is the weight difference relevant? I hope thats not the question.
@@EricGraham1987 you said you 5’8 and walk around at 170 idk how that’s relevant
@@frenchfries2424 Because I am the same height as the first fight and there is a bigger difference than 10-20 pounds. I can't believe I had to explain that.
Bro games 3 hours a day and still dominates in the ring
True gamer lol, has a family too but makes time for games
It's always insane when I see Gustavo just walk down and bully a guy twice his size
Gustavo balart vs Chan Rotana height difference is crazy but incredible resilience and determination by gustavo
He looks like Rousimar Palhares...
Gustavo is greco roman olympic wrestler. The guy is seriously talented in wrestling
There is no way they are the same weight makes no sense
Did Balart win?
This honestly proves how much it does matter. DJ had to use his tools so effectively here, and he’s so damn good
He kept his chin up to much and didn’t have good defense
@@newportsmoke3972 it's hard to have ur chin down while fighting a taller and longer fighter. That's also why size matters.
@@KhanalSush who the hell told u that lol?
@@newportsmoke3972 Bigger target, you look down you only see his legs.
DJ is a legendary short king
Of course size matters because it brings more physical advantages. What it does not do is make one more skilled. We wouldn't need weight classes in combat sports if size made no difference. Even if combatants are the same weight, it's still advantageous to have both height and reach in your favour.
Weight classes were created for a number of reasons, the primary one being increased revenue opportunity for both promoter and sanctioning body (latter been in boxing)
I think this video is talking about height not weight lol thats obvious a 200 lb 5'7 guy would win against a 140 lb 5'10 guy. Height is less of a factor because you can use your skills in different ways to counter.
@@SanctumROTMG I’m 230lb , 6ft 4…. I got beaten by a 140lb dwarf at last weeks David V Goliath event in The Elah Valley!

One of the sickest K.O's ever. D.J didn't even look when it landed. No follow up. Knew it was over. That's badass
It's more the weight that makes a difference. That's probably why the taller guys decide to stay in the weight class because they know the heavier weight class fighters will demolish them. They also have the height and most likely reach advantage as well. That's why it's a bigger deal when shorter fighters beat taller ones.
Nobody wants to fight at their real weight division. These fighters are cowards.
That taller guy has the height, reach, and weight advantage. They only weigh the same during weight in. After that he has way more room on his frame to fill up.
A lot of people have this idea that great height = great weight when it is not always the case. I've known plenty of average height or tall dudes who are surprisingly lightweight for their size, and then many guys who, despite being short (5,8 ft or less), are built like a tank, so they can be tough fighters.
@@Sextus70a 5'8 guy built like a tank is a 6ft 2 guys normal weight
Gustavo ballard is a true champ.. being that high and putting on the gloves.. my deepest respects and admiration.
DJ vs Morales 2 will be one of my favorite fights of all time.
Size does matter, but when you're DJ it matters significantly less
DJ is such a phenomenal fighter though. Such a pleasure to watch.
Height doesn’t matter. I’m 5’5 and I’ve beaten guys 5-10 - 6 ft in street fights. Short guys packs power once we close in on the range. Tall guys are like baby giraffes in close quarters.
Bro, stop being delusional because you beat up some weaklings.
This. Too many people mistakenly think you need to be 6ft and 250+ lbs. to knock someone out. In reality, it really doesn’t take that much. Speed and agility are what really makes a difference.
@@eftichismalandrakis You’re underestimating bro, until you get knocked out. Hahaha

The way that blonde girl(Northcutt) was like 2 steps ahead & switching her submissions so fast was amazing and satisfying to watch. Too bad she didn't get the W out of it tho, that would have been great.
That Gustavo balart guy has some of the most beautiful takedowns I've ever seen in an mma fight
Size may be less of an issue if there was no weight cutting, you saw moraes man handling dj, but then in the later rounds dj started to have more success, those weight cuts have significant effects in those later rounds
DJ is definitely the GOAT and most well rounded fighter. All those Jones nut swingers was crazy last week. "Ohhh he's the best"
So only the DJ nut swingers like yourself are right?
Lol who has DJ fought?
Jones is the goat, DJ hasn't beaten anyone really noteworthy.
The first fight is one of the best fight I've ever seen
Like Mike Tyson said that he had an advantage over his opponents because of his height. Even his opponents admitted that it was very awkward to fight Mike Type.
Not true
This fight is insane
Slipped the jab and came over with the right. Boxing 101 right there Mighty Mouse👌 👏
That Balart... dude's a walking menace. Damn.
DJ kneed him back to when Dracula was born 🤣🤣🤣
The second fight 🤣🤣🤣
Mike Tyson is my height, 5'10. I always fought people taller than me and never had a problem. I knocked someone out that was 6'5. It's all about how you use it to your advantage.
I mean if someone is 6'5, you don't even have to duck and be scared of the knee when hooking for that liver shot, I'm a small dude, but overhand in the plexus followed up with a liver shot brings most falling down to the ground. And the yes, the saying is true, the taller you are, the harder you fall. At least from my experience.
Smaller fighters just have to get creative closing the distance, but once inside are quicker to the punch
Bro that guy was really giving DJ a good fight and I’m impressed asf that DJ knew before even checking or looking that homie was gonna be knocked out
Mighty mouse ! Is something else boi ! 🤣🤣 l watched without the audio ! Its funny how the little guy took care giant easily like that 😆😆😆
Why is the first time stamp "DJ vs TJ Dillashaw😂
Love seeing fighters who need physical advantages or take advantage of weight cuts etc get demolished. Weight bullies are the worst
DJ might be the best overall martial artist that I have ever seen fight in the cage.
Dj is just awesome man!

DJ, Volk, Mugsy, and Mike Tyson are my favorite short kings❤
Mike Tyson aint short
@@Satyred A lot of people consider 5'10 short nowadays so ye hes either short or average. He def isnt tall though. Also you have to consider the opponents he fought were all heavyweight and were taller than him.
Mike's pretty average height but he was a heavyweight so pretty much everyone he was up against was noticably taller

Gustavo 💪🏾💪🏾 good lord man don't stop DJ too Flying knee 😳
I was like 5'2 a while ago and the biggest dude I beat was like 6'4"
Well all body types have advantages and disadvantages it's just what you know and how you use them is what makes you a good fighter.

dj seems like the nicest dude ever
When they were exchanging knees you can see thats when Mighty Mouse was like "Oh its over for this foo".

Weight and height are two different things.
Size doesn't matter, weight does!
This is coherent and useless
3:39 someone should do the water drop sound meme for this haha
Ppl need to realize DJ had to adapt to their rules. Man the way he finished him was vicious. I know Morales caught him with a knee in the first fight, but to get to do what he did to you but better makes DJ a straight savage.....
Nah Morales was better.

Dj vs tj dillashaw as the first chapter lol
Bro I'm short and the worst is fighting someone shorter because they are just as quick and those hits add up. It is always one of my hardest fights, its something about that low center of gravity. I also remember going full speed collision with massive guy during football I got the lowest and was able to scoop him up and put him on his back. I surprised myself and others realized there are ways to manipulate situations that can work in your favor. I believe it's more of determination or the feeling of embarrassment from losing you are trying to prevent.
Size does matters. It’s just not the only thing that matters.
Bravo 👏 DJ !! Easy money 🐐
Crazy he knees him on the head and never looks back, he knew that was his finishing move.
I train with a guy who’s 5’7 210lbs that knocked out a guy who was 7’. His fighting style is insane
How ? What does he practice ?
@Kushagra Gupta he's been doing muay Thai for 15 years. He's very explosive but knows how to use their long reach as a disadvantage to them. He works the body a lot and when they go to defend the body they almost always leave their chin open... then it's lights out

These guys had some fiercest fight i ever seen. They are both great.
There is only two factors to determine when assessing any threat and that is: Capacity and Intent. Capacity is your size, the weapons you have, the size of your army ect but intent is your intent to either kill or survive. In ancient Greece the most powerful army was the army of Thebes mostly because of a single unit of 300 men, or should I say 150 pairs of 2. Two lovers who would famously fight side by side with each other increasing their intent to survive and protect the one they love and their historical success is evidence of that. Generally an older veteran and a younger warrior where the older veteran would trade training, experience, equipment and such for the younger warriors companionship, labour and sexual favours and they would form a bond stronger than son and father, stronger than husband and wife which would translate into intent to kill or survive on the battlefield making them the most elite and successful heavy infantry unit in history. The same men who thought as Thermopylae were the same men I am talking about, the same 300 men who killed over 20,000 Persians where lovers who's intent to survive gave them the strength they needed. If you doubt that then go study the reports of Xerxes scouts who state that the Greeks were rubbing oils and making love to each other the night before the battle which is why Xerxes underestimated them because Xerxes thought they were a small group of extremist nutjobs not realising they were the very Sacred Band of Thebes who defeated Spartan many times with just a small handful of fighters. Intent is the true factor that determines a threat, capacity is secondary but still important.
Just to clarify. It does matter. It matters a lot. However skill & tactics can overcome the advantage size gives.
It does matter very much, DJ is just too skilled that it makes very little difference.
Height and size are 2 different things. But also. Jon Jones vs DJ wouldn’t be fair now would it?
