  • Craig is totally right. It's not only Spurs, but also Liverpool fans. If you told Liverpool fans that we will finish 4th this season, we would have been delighted. But once we saw the title as a possibility, everything changed.

    • Dont talk daft. P.s we finished last season 15 games unbeaten and in brilliant form. It continued in to this season. Wouldn't of been delighted with 4th at all. I predicted we would be cities nearest challengers and got laughed at 😂 by Utd fans...who else😂 I knew last season was a blip and the quality was still there. 3 champions league finals, a league title, runners up 3 times, 90 odd points each time. Bit of respect please.

    • Can I just point out bad refereeing has cost Klopp and Liverpool a title this season. Liverpool have lost 9 points due to terrible inexplicable bad decisions that VAR did not correct. The Diaz disallowed goal, The clear handball not given against Arsenal and the kick to the chest in the Man City game. Head of referees has apologised for all 3 wrong decisions to Liverpool, but Liverpool never got the points. With these points lost due to referee massive errors, Liverpool would be 7 points clear with 2 games to go. They claim bad decisions even things out, but other title contenders haven’t been robbed of 9 points due to referees. It is not the first time either, 2 seasons ago Man City won the title by 1 point and Rodri in one game against Everton did the most blatant handball in the last minute in the box a PK should have been given and ref missed it and VAR didn’t give and we had another apology from the head of refereeing but Man City kept the 2 points and won the title by 1 point. The Media keep talking about Nottingham Forest hiring a referee liaison as if this is massively dodgy, but nothing about the entire EPL refereeing and VAR team constantly going to the UAE during season to be paid for appearances in the country of the Man City owners. It is funny how Man City are always the team that always benefits of these huge mistakes. Conflict of,interest.

    • I'm not sure I agree. I commented the same above. After 30 games Liverpool were favourites to win the title and most could not see where Liverpool would drop points. Certainly not United, Everton, Palace or West Ham. Note each of those teams their highlight of the past month has been the game against Liverpool. Those 4 teams have been poor against the rest of the opposition. We have been in freefall and it does not make sense.

That felt like something unsustainable and as Kasey Keller put it, required 3 Ngolo Kontes performing their best to protect when Spurs were losing possession. Ange's Celtic had by far best players in Scottish league so the style worked well, but it's different story in EPL. I do not think even ManCity would be able to win it all plaing Ange's way. • The fact is that many of my fellow Liverpool fans don't realise that we're in big trouble defensively. Van Dhjk can't defend anymore, which explains why he always plays highline with opposition's strikers. He can't face them to take the ball from them. The success rate of strikers getting past him is 90%, letting in goals cheaply. We can't win any trophy with Van Dhjk, still our no 1 centre half. Quansah is trying but can't handle skilful strikers. Konate is on downward hill his performances of late have been mind troubling. We need at least 2 young top cetral defenders in Europe if we want to challenge for the title and win any trophy next season.

MacAlister the Argentine has proven to be a world class signing once he no longer had to play the 6 and Elliott played so well too. Spurs lost (again) but dominated the ball yet again, however, not enough chances and shots created. Liverpool played so well in both ends that no matter what Tott did Reds were going to win that match. Maybe Jurgen will change his mind like Xavi? Nope. Whatever club or country gets him to sign on for them (if any) next, is going to be very lucky. One of the very best managers the EPL has ever seen.

For the record I completely agree this Craig, Ange needs more time and Spurs were never going to jump from 8th to challenge for the title. However, if you look at transfer spend this season and over the last 5 years Spurs have been allowed to spend big

    • The team has spent a lot relatively but it's also a team that has needed a rebuild for a while. It needs time to be shaped especially with the drastically different nature of Ange's tactics. When we had Conte he was a practical manager and we saw that implode last year so a manager being given time and funds to reshape things is clearly necessary. Expectations at the start of the season were low from everyone and now that the reality of the squad have caught up lots of people want to attack Ange for not having been humble being that he's managing Spurs and the fact that the media like him for his honesty. In no way has he been a failure when no one even dared to predict a European place for a Spurs side that has only one consistent scorer that isn't named Harry Kane

  • craig is absolutely right about these fans making these unrealistic expectations of a manager who is new to the league but reason why a certain group of fans are mad isn't because he's been found out. It's because there are issues with his gameplan and tactics that leave the team vulnerable in attack and defense that has been evident for about 10 games that he doesn't want to adjust let alone address. the starting 11 hasn't been working and some players are either out form, inconsistent or not good enough but he keeps playing them. there are people on the bench could be put on and make an actual difference. I mean like did Dragusin turn down bayern only to get 2 appearance this whole time. maddison hasn't been himself but you prefer to kulu out of position instead of lo celso. I mean come on. why not have Micky at LB and have Porro move into midfield. The whole game plan from the start of the season had been fucked. we understand that it can happen since it's your first season. but what we can't understand is why you can't try or switch to a plan B when plan A has been utterly and totally fucked 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

London manager of the year is crazy but that aside, if Ang ball is to completely neglect any meaningful defensive strategy and wish on a prayer that you out score your opponent week in week out, then may Tottenham play Ang ball for the rest of my Arsenal supporting days. Attacking the fans reasonable reservations instead of analysing the managers evidential strengths and weaknesses is just disrespectful to the fans

  • Tottenham started the season off flying, 10 games undefeated they were actually playing a proper brand of football under Ange Postecoglu which was something that we never saw under previous managers and many believed that they were title contenders in the Premier League. Even though their form dipped, they actually managed to stay within touching distance of the top 4 while navigating many injuries and their players in the middle of the season were representing their countries at major tournaments: AFCON and the Asian Cup. They were outside of the top 4, they had a chance of trying to overtake Aston Villa in the race for champions league football. In typical Tottenham Hotspur fashion, they’ve bottled it once again during the most crucial stage of the season. As a wise man once said “it’s the history of Tottenham” and obviously everyone knew that they weren’t going to end this long trophy drought, now they’re out of contention to secure champions league football because they’ve won 2 out of their last 8 league games and have now lost 4 consecutive league games. 4-0 loss to Newcastle, 3-2 loss to Arsenal even they came back from 3 goals down it wasn’t enough, lost 2-0 to the worst Chelsea team we’ve ever seen and also their “Stamford Bridge curse” continued and also lost 4-2 to Liverpool who their season has unraveled themselves and are no longer competing for the premier league title. Since they’re in 5th place, had English clubs been doing much better in Europe this season, that alone would’ve been good enough for a champions league spot, but will have to settle for the Europa League.

    @ryanwade2824@ryanwade282412 күн бұрын
  • No matter how poorly the season has ended for them, Tottenham have massively overachieved under Ange Postecoglu. Why, it’s because last season they were a mess as they finished in 8th place in the premier league meaning that they weren’t going to play in any European competition this season, the managerial situation was a circus for them as they had 3 different managers in a month and literally sacked their assistant coach. Not many people had high expectations for Tottenham especially after losing their talisman and greatest ever player in Harry Kane last summer. They started the season off very well and obviously you didn’t think that they would really challenge for the title, they were playing well to potentially secure champions league football or even Europa League at best, because Manchester City Arsenal and Liverpool (before their season ending collapse), 3 teams were competing for the premier league title and Aston Villa were flying. They stayed within touching distance of the top 4 for the most part of the season despite being plagued with injuries and key players on international duty. What Tottenham usually do best is crumble at the worst possible time. As they say, “Typical Tottenham” and a wise man once said, “it’s the history of Tottenham”. No matter how well they were playing, everyone knew that they weren’t going to win a trophy as that’s been the same story for them every season, a run of 2 wins in their last 8 games and 4 consecutive defeats means that they’ll officially be out of contention for the champions league places by the time they have to play against Manchester City where surprisingly they have to help Arsenal win the title winning some points off of them. Their record in that stadium isn’t great, Tottenham’s form doesn’t make people believe that they can take points off of Man City. I think that Tottenham fans shouldn’t overreact by saying that they need to sack Ange Postecoglu. That wouldn’t be a wise move from them they shouldn’t consider sacking their manager absolutely not because yes they wanted a top 4 spot, but considering the injuries and players playing for their country in the middle of the season combined with them literally losing their best player last summer, their season has some positives that we should be able to take and they can obviously strengthen their squad when the transfer window starts as they’ll be much more expectations on them next season.
