You could look into an overhead, fold-down canopy. They rest across the head of the wondscreen when stowed and sit up, overhead when deployed and are held in place by stays connected to the gunwhale further back along the boat. It prevents having rain coming inside on you and offers shade in summer. You can get them with clear sections or removable sections. They're common here in Aus because the weather can be pretty variable and harsh. At least then you could still be fairly dry on that run back home.

Wow, that's an expensive way to launce for a days fishing. Deganwy is my home town and when I take my boat out there I just love the scenery. There is a channel you can down West shore a couple of hours either side of h/w and the fishing is better off the Orme. Keep the video coming.👍

There will be days when you'll wish you kept some of the bigger mackerel. Yeah, mackerel isn't the best when thawed out. But better than nothing. If you do catch scad, they are a very good bait. I'm enjoying the videos

the fish was a nice size Pilchard or sardine. Scad have bigger scales and a slightly spikey long dorsal fin, like a bass but not as spikey. The toothy one was a Whiting, very good eating.

Looked like a great day out and good to see you out having fun. First one looked like a Sardine / Pilchard to me. Check out Fishlocker videos, he is really informative regarding tactics. For lures you need wind in to make the lure look like its swimming; wind up a few metres drop and repeat. Tends to work best near features, but be careful of the snags.

Be careful. A weaver fish look a bit like a Whiting. If you hold it the same way you get a very nasty sting. Love the videos.

Rather than a traditional anchor winch, look at getting a Minn Kota. Here in Australia they are quite common, great piece of kit.

Once you caught the mackerel you should have put a set of feathers on. They will catch a lot of species not just mackerel, tight lines

this was not the 15 october by any chance as we got caught twice in hailstone first around 10 am as we were going up in trame up the orme second in the afternoon around 5pm as we were on the west coast of Llandudno we were celebrating our 36 anniversary
