  • Amazing work as always, something that I would definitely try was getting your first painted door design for the background and used it as a texture for your 3D object, im sure would work amazingly well Going to try something like this soon, thanks again for the knowledge!

  • This is so amazing you really nailed the swap :) Would you also do one where you change the design of shrek to fit more ghiblis aesthetic ? how would he look ? its so interesting. especially when you swap animation styles keep up the amazing work

    • Cheers! Yeah I could probably have redesigned shrek a bit to fit the ponyo style more. I feel my background was more in line with it then the character :)

  • I really like the final shot, one suggestion though. In Ponyo everything flows (in the background) and that is somehow "missing" in your shot.

  • Is this 7 frames? I didn't realize you could get a solid animation with so few frames. I know you would prefer more but weighting the bulk of your time on the background combined the 15-20 + frames the door animation provides makes those 7 shrek frames legit. It's nice little recipe you've whipped up here. Your tutorials have helped tremendously over the years. Thank you!

    • Good animation isn’t defined by how many frames it has. It’s the acting and poses that matter.

  • I think that was an amazing challenge. Most certainly a good morning exercise. I missed the chirps of birds and that in depth touch of Olof perfectionist quality but I get the gist 😅.

  • I think it need some adjustment in saturation for background… Since the character animation is like a placeholder or an idea it is sport on, like you said it could use some inbetweening and also some form shadows. This is phenomenon! All in all Awesome! But 0/10 for not putting All star by smash mouth
