I Can't Believe How CHEAP Trainer Gallery Pokemon Cards Have Become!

In today's video, we take a look at Trainer Gallery Pokemon Cards. The Trainer Gallery was a subset that Pokemon introduced into their Main Series Set Releases starting with Brilliant Stars and including Astral Radiance, Lost Origin, and Silver Tempest during the Sword and Shield Block.
These Pokemon Cards feature stunning artwork and almost feel like Alternate Arts to many Pokemon Collectors with the stories they depict on the cards. With Pull Rates being slightly difficult on the back half of the trainer gallery, it is somewhat surprising to see how far many of these have fallen in price. Is now a good time to collect Trainer Gallery Pokemon Cards? Let's talk about it!

The modern card sets are becoming larger, so it is great to have higher pull rates.
He posted this during a live showing? THIS MAN IS A BUSY GUY.
Lower pull rates made more sense when Holo's where the primary chase. Even if you get 10-12 "hits" per booster box they are almost always just basic v's or ex's. Maybe 1 or 2 will be actual hits.
As a TG collector, this makes me happy :) Galleries should be about the Art! not the value (Personal opinion)
I get to fill up my binder for cheaper. I love it lol
Except it still cost a shit ton to open packs, so somebody (ie the person buying the packs) gets screwed. Pokemon company has gotten way too greedy, why are packs so expensive. Bandai for example provides standardised pull rates, with booster boxes being affordable.
Very interesting. Been slowly trying to collect all of the TG sets, maybe now is the time to get aggressive about it.
Love the data. Thanks for sharing Danny! Exciting to get some!!
Generations Radiant Collection is another that has dropped quite substantially recently. Flareon has gone from its highs of $50 now down to $35
I just recently finished out Brilliant stars, Astral Radiance, and Lost Origins. Currently working through SIlver Tempest and then moving onto the Gallarian Gallery. I've been considering double dipping on some of these cards to hold onto as extra copies because some of these cards hjust have the absolutely most breath-taking art. I'm a little disappointed so many people complained about the high pull rates in SV Base, because each subsequent set after has been ridiculous with their special illustration pulls. Kind of absurd that even just some of the "standard" illustration rares demand 5 or so dollars.
Pull rates? I was extremely happy with S&V up until 151 and PR. Those sets have rekt me. To the point where I don't actively seek out PR anymore. For me, the other S&V sets were challenging as far as pulling chases (still a lot of key cards I need), but they would at least give up something. The earlier mentioned 2 sets have been very stingy to me. While 151 consistently does me just as dirty, one does not simply stop ripping 151, hahaha. I'm on the fence about how you say all rarities are printed equally. If that was truly the case, I wouldn't have over a dozen Classic Collection Blastoise and Venusaurs from Celebrations sitting in front of me while the Zardy boi is all by its lonesome. Just one example of my ripping experience.
Higher pull rates are better IMO! I'm a collector and love the art. The easier it is to get cards I'll enjoy the better!
I prefer tougher pull rates but not because of the value really. I enjoy those because of the chase. I feel much more accomplished when I pulled the Moonbreon and the Blaziken Vmax Alt art more so than when I pull the Miriam out of SNV Base or the SIR Zard from OF. Yes the Moonbreon and Blaziken are significantly more expensive but also way tougher to pull. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt....not pulling nice looking cards in every 3rd or 4th pack! Just my humble opinion, thanks for the video Danny!
Agreed makes the pull even more special for me
There should be both. I say there should always be 3/6 cards tht are SPECIAL hard to pull but also we should be getting full arts nd illustration rates often.
Good info sir 👍
I've never met anyone that said, "i like spending 1,000$ trying to go for my master set". I'm glad we are back where we started in the 90s, where a BB had about 11 or so holos.
I like the pullrates, although for sets with so many secret rares, you'd like to pull at least 5 from a booster box. Even if you pulled perfect, you'd need a few cases at least to pull them all.
Thanks for the data as always
I love the Trainer Galleries and am trying to complete then all. I just won a Phanny Pack in your live stream and you pulled me the Professor Burnet TG. So now the last Silver Tempest TG I need is Friends in Galar and it will be complete :) Thanks for the pulls!
Love the TG cards… wish there was value in them. Just too much supply available
Thats good because they never shouldve been that expensive in the first place. From 120 TG cards, 10 being from $15-$40 makes perfect sense
Awesome to know. Thanks Danny
Black and Gold Pikachu, Mew and Rayquaza are my favourite trainer gallery cards
I also think that TG(and GG) cards are going to perform way better long run than the IRs from SV sets.
Thanks for the vid, very interesting again!
Paradox Rift removing the double bangers is a mistake Pokemon need to fix. Pull rates are in a sweet spot pre-paradox. I miss the trainer gallery, and I'm very excited to see what they add later in S&V to shake things up
Overall we are just feeling like the SV era is tough because of bad luck. Actually SV Base was pretty good. Pulled many of our "chase" cards pretty quickly. But, since that that time, it feels harder. The TG cards felt easier pulling I guess. But also hit different... Even the normal lower level TG cards. Top that off with too many Pokemon we don't really care for in the SV era as wel, makes it feel tough and weird.
Pull rates are fairly good, but it's sad that PR removed double-hitter packs
That Starmie V (TG) is the best card to release for all the Trainer Gallery Set. I need 6 more from Silver Tempest for a Completed Master TG Set... And i need 27 More From the Crown Zenith Gallerian 70 Card Set. That has been my go since i completed Evolving Skies Master Set 😊
Thanks danny for all you do!! Thanks for the phanny pack giveaway today as well !! I know pull rates are better but it doesn't feel great or as exciting anymore to me
The only problem with paradox rift was the removal of double bangers. I really enjoy the higher pull rates of SV era. Packs aren't cheap so unless you're loaded or can get packs at wholesale (or both) then buying packs feels hard to justify. The larger sets in general justifies the higher pull rates. Paradox rift has 34 art rares alone. If we still had early sword and shield or earlier pull rates then opening packs wouldn't be worth it.
The high pull rates are good for the kiddos who only care about V cards and above but for us adults it really fucks up the value of the top end cards.
I do think that in the 5 to 10 year range these are going to get more and more valuable but short term they will continue to drop. I currently have 19 master sets and am thinking of selling the majority of them but will probably hold onto these ones as I really do thing they will be worth quite a bit in a few years time! Great info as always! Thanks for this and thanks for being you!
As a collector I feel like there should be a medium between value and high pull rates. I like the higher pull rates but at the same time I don’t like how it devalues the card. For example the flareon EX from x&y generations (which is now a 7 year old set almost 8) is still worth on avg $5-$10 I know the market fluctuates but still you know?
Personally I think the number of hits is fine. I do wish they brought back the 2 Special Art Rares in each booster box or 1 plus a Hyper Rare.
Before you felt so lucky pulling an alt art - and relative to the lows of getting only 5 V cards in a chilling reign booster box (peignful memories) the high feels even higher. Pokemon has essentially made opening packs more predictable. They've taken the highs and lows and averaged them out - so the feeling of a getting as SIR isn't such a high from a booster box because, well you now know you'll probably get one and it's just a matter of which one. I don't think it's a bad thing - collecting a full set is way easier on my wallet now - but for people who just opened a few packs for the chance of feeling that high, I imagine the fun factor is a lot lower. And yes, that will be amplified because the value of the best cards isn't as high, but it's not JUST the value of the cards that impacts the experience.
I am loving that you can buy exciting cards with awesome artwork for just a few bucks and super cool cards for like 25 bucks instead like $200. Best move pokemon has done for the hobby imo.
Are the trainer galery V the same rarity as the Vmax and gold Tgs and trainer TGs?
Pull rates overall are great. Just wish the quality of those pulls were better
I think they could be a little better but I’m good with them. I know it’s a special set but I like CZ and 151.
It’s cheaper to buy singles then open product right now. I haven’t opened product in awhile. Only shopping for singles.
I think it’s the best fo both worlds. You still have your chases, but also better than good for a more likely trainer gallery pull.
Happy with pull rates so my twins can get great cards for their collection. ❤❤
I like the higher pull rates and the trainer gallery, but I also get the appeal of really rare cards. I think it would be cool if they added a new rarity that was really hard to pull, while continuing to have a high pull rate of good full art cards
I mean each set has 1 or 2 cards that are the very difficult to pull
I like the pull rates on some of the newer sets, but on the other hand, as a collector and investor, the flooded market with great pull rates seems to take a bit of a mark on the prices...although Paldea seems to keep strong (please no reprints on it).
Pull rates seem inconsistent between etbs and booster boxes. Opened 22 packs of paradox rift from etbs and pulled next to nothing.
TG card are extremely underrated!! I love them!! If they are affordable now is the time to buy! The starmie V is actually worth more if it's centred because most are poorly cut! That card shud be at 80 raw anyway pure bargain right now.
Another great video
I love love love the better pull rates and am really mad that paradox rift has such bad pull rates and am praying that they dont do horrible stolen hits like half of swsh was 😒
I feel like TG cards are still rare as hell. Id take smaller sets with worse hit rates. But right now ig im happy with pull rates. I dont do master sets(unless i win one 😅) but i usually can pull my chases pretty well. Skipped paradox rift so if double bangers really are gone then thats pretty shady imo
My opinion on "hits" in present sets: I don't think base versions of cards that are kind of critical to seriously playing the game should count as hits (ex, V, etc). I think reverse holos should be rarer, 2 per pack is kind of silly imo. If they had 8-12 "real" hits per booster box or roughly 1:4-1:5 packs I would be happy.
I enjoy the higher pull rates of the last couple years & even better when you pull a double banger.
urrgghhh... I'd been secretly buying out the TGs, hopefully it doesn't get more expensive with the release of this video :/
pull rates are pretty terrible in every recent set other than 151
Mabe I don't have the right to speak as I'm taking a break from pokemon. I like the obsidian flames pull rate a psa 10 zard is still 350$ I like the idea of a master ball reverse in every set. I'm sick of the auxiliary product as well. Everywhere I go, the sleeved boosters are first sold out.
Pull rates don’t exist for me 😂 but I do love having better odds.
I'm in the hobby to collect, not turn a profit gambling on cardboard. Why should the "value" of my pulls be determined by how much people would pay, if I don't intend to sell? For me the value is purely in how much I like the artwork of the card
Naw with sets 200+ they need to increase pull rates
I think the pull rate on the scarlet and violet set's are bad and that is whitout the TG
this is a great video
Harder pull rates please makes the chase better and
I really don't think pull rates are good in S/V unless you buy a booster box Which sucks, Ive bought so many S/V and can't even seem to pull a $3 illusion It makes me not want to buy, SW/SD pull rates were tough but at least I could buy a single pack and get a hit
I thought trainers gallery started with cosmic eclipse? But they just called it the secret rare of that set?
No surprise, it mostly features characters no one gives af about. Notice the most expensive is Misty... Aside from Cynthia/Garchomp and Red/Pikachu (both undervalued).. couldnt name a single one of the trainers
love these cards!
In my opinion, the people who just want value in cards are all the older people. Kids aren't thinking about value! People need to remember, yeah we grew up with pokemon but it's not just us who like them. Pokemon has to think about the kids too. Not just adults
Love the TG but gotta say the pull rate is too much these days.
Pokemon its like pop-corn in the microwave. The explosion its always at the end of a bloc! So in the end of Scarlet Violet, the last 4 sets will probably having gen 2 remake set and having characters with pokemon style card! And the sword and shield cards with characters will be more expensive because hype.
I prefer higher pull rates and more accessibility to cards.
Base set SCVL is vetter that PR.
Pull rates are fine. Keep the harder cards harder to pull
Can't pull a Trainer 2 save my life but the hit rate isn't bad
I think pull rate is fine. Its nice to not have to dump 500+ dollars into a set to get some decent value back. And anyone arguing value...you still pull cards from sets over the past year that are more valuable than cards 10 or so years ago. Prime example, Starmie V is more valuable than a Call of Legends Lugia, Umbreon, Rayquaza (all non shiny) and those cards are big names in a pack that is easily a few hundred dollars per pack. How many alt art cards in the past year are more valuable or on par with the big three from base set unlimited? Case closed. Opening packs should be fun...and if its not fun, then Pokemon doesnt exactly make profits. Pack openings spark intrigue and encourage others to buy, to try for the big chase cards. I see no issue with it.
DAnny's the best!
Over the past three or four months… I have seen a mass exodus of people from Pokémon to other TCG’s. I can’t say I blame them with the abysmal card quality in the flooding of the market… I’m seeing cards sit on shelves for months at a time… All sets. but I am loving the singles prices. Why buy a booster box when you could just buy the set for approximately the same price?
Pull rates are pretty great, I'm loving the pulls. This is how life should be🙆♂️
I rather a kid be happy now then that card in time would be destroyed then I'll have a mint one for the adult lol
Paradox rift is perfect the rest of sword and shield was wayyyy too easy
🙏Danny for President 🙏
Time to shop 😂😂😂😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pull rates suck compared to early Scarlet/Violet, but are better than Sword/Shield.
Nooooo I missed it!? 😭😭
It's impossible to pull perfectly especially if you buy large quantities! BATCH PRINTING IS REAL MY FRIENDS
TG,AR, all have saved Pokémon no one wants to pay tons of money for only a shot at a few pulls.
I like pull rates lately. Got 2 charizards SAR'S from 151😊
Buying singles . Like I’m single 😂
Go phanny!!!!!!
make pull rates harder
Man that's cheap!
Hiii danny
The definition of a hit has changed over time as well.
To many pulls. I would rather have quality than trash.
Very happy with the pull rates! I hope they will continue to do this on those coming sets!!
I don't care about the value of the cards at all. I want to see my kids open packs that have cards that they're going to love and collect. The people wanting to make money are just desperate IMO..
wooohoo!!!!
Live streaming and dropping videos at the same time. Hardest working player in the game
Here! For funn factor is ok to have high pull rates. For collection and investment is better to have very low pool rates. 😅
1st
It’s not fun to spend $5 and get little value, over and over again. Better pulls is nice!
People need to grow up. This is like the lottery. If you don't hit the lottery in the amount of packs you could afford...well better luck next time. You also don't need the 400 dollar version of a card to play the game you could use the 15 dollar non alt art haha. This generation is way to entitled and need to get a life.
How do you really feel?
I’m on the fence about the current pull rates. Obviously it’s nice to get hits and it’s nice that singles are cheaper, but they start to feel a bit less special (not necessarily because of the value but the true rarity). Thanks for the awesome data, Danny! I was expecting to see the Galarian Gallery total value too, but I still enjoyed the video. :)
