Авторитетное автомобильное издание Top Gear опубликовало рейтинг «три лучшие погони в кино». На первом месте - фильм Ронин (Ronin) 1998 года. Легендарная вечно-живая BMW M5 E34 (5-серии) уходит от погони. Одна из самый популярных моделей автомобильной марки BMW.

  • I love how they did such a good job with the engine sounds. Usually in movies when they dub them in they use sounds from a different car with a completely different engine.

  • What I love about this car chase (apart from the very cool and great sounding E34) is that they kept it clean and simple. Today its would be a mess of over the top CGI, lame sound effects, intrusive music and unnecessary explosions to make it more "epic". In this scene they let the cars do the talking, and it is so much more believable as a result. Sometimes less really is more!

  • The E34 is one of the best BMWs ever ! Exciting driving experience for a car of this age, built like a tank, incredibly reliable, nice engine sound, smooth power delivery and of course the M5 is the culmination of this fantastic car. I learned to drive in one of those as a teenager (actually it was a '91 520i 150hp) but still exciting enough for a 16 year old. I think in the movie they used a 525i for the crash scenes I hope they didn't crash a real M5 :D

  • i think its a 525i or 530i with M5 rims. No M-Technik bumpers, no M-Sportseats, no M-technik sideskirts and the exhaust pipes are to small for a M5

  • I loved BMWs from a young age, and bought a 1995 5 series when I got the chance. I think this movie had a lot of influence, and I never regretted that car

  • Hadn't realized this before but the car action scenes in this movie are very, very well made (epecially the scene when they're driving on incoming traffic). And considering the time this movie came out...really great job!

  • Обожаю автомобили марки бмв... Особенно, в кузове е класса. М3 как и м5,действительно мои любимки... Но эта сцена!... Действительно поражает! Респект и уважуха тому, кто этот фильм снимал! А я погнал гонять в дальнобойщики 2, чтоб трюкачить на е39 от фирмы бмв... Счастливо, парни! Удачных гонок наскар, дамы и господа.

  • It's a 535i (208hp). Even if the 406 uses the most powerful V6 (207hp), there's no way it can keep up with a 335hp M5.

    • 211hp if you consider civilised units, and it couldnt be 340hp(what you refer to as '335', again, civilised! units) as its prelift so its 315hp.

  • They used in film both the M5 E34, and 535i manual E34. For crash they used 535i you can see the basic 535i wheels 225 section wheels. In city high speed chase they used both M5 and the 535i
