what if you had a"health bar" for each army indicating how many points are left? that would show pretty clearly who has more on the table. (you could probably also calculate points per wound on monsters and vehicles). Very nice video btw, I enjoyed it:)

As a player of both DG and Necrons, it really hurts my soul that one of my armies just feels so much better to play than the other right now :(
I’m new to 40K (havnt even painted my first army (Necrons) not played a game yet) but if death guard really aren’t as tank as Necrons that kinda lame. They gotta give them a slightly different version of RP where they don’t revive the dead (usually) and instead heal a good bit more.
The lichguard were great bogging down and slowly wearing away at elite combat infantry
Lets be fair, that first party of lychguard had no business surviving the pair of meganobz. First volley got through 20 total wounds, somehow hit 11 out of the twenty 5+ saves (on average that should have been 7 or less). Then the second squad completely whiffed (9 out of the 10 wound dice came up as a 1 or 2). Honestly, all things being perfectly average, the two meganobz squads with the extra CP was comfortably overkill for that squad. Just sheer luck swining a massive chunk of that game.

@@Derploop The cryptech gives them 5 FNP and when they are lead by a lord anything attacking them gets -1 to its wound rolls. They are absolutely great. I run two squads of 10 in my competative list against other like minded players. No way am I going to bring them in a casual game, lol

Michael and James are my two favorite guest players on the channel. You can tell they really enjoy playing with one another. When Michael reminded James about what the Hexmark actually does so James didn't just out right dead his unit. Made my heart swell, what a stand up guy. This was truly a gentleman's match up. Great watch.

I had my doubt for necrons in 10th, but they look so much fun to play and able to go toes to toes with most other armies !
Same. The initial reveal for Reanimation had me pretty mixed, but once all the mixed support to it was revealed, I could see their strength.
The adjustments to lethality across the board in 10th absolutely boosted Necrons from being honestly only kind of okay, up to being a real player. Personally I like it. Everything about their lore says they should be a very serious threat all the time.
People are not quite used to the amount of res necrons can pull off in 10th. Once they do, you'll see a lot more concentrated overkills and that will blunt those resurrections. I do see necrons dominate in low point games though.
@@stevens9625 the amount of resurrections Necrons can do can become a gamble if you decide to overkill. Too much concentration in to a handful of units leaves the rest of the necrons to do what they want with the board even being a slower army this edition. Giving Necrons board control is gg because theyll just hunker down and blast you off the table the moment you get close with their new shooting advantages on top of the standard shoot phase. Those free overwatch abilites were brutal. Characters have really turned the tide for this army as it should have for years.
@@foreverfornever1124I think even with people trying to overkill, they will STILL be tough nuts to crack. Especially those litch guard. Second time seeing that unit with support behind it, second time seeing it just not dying. Also with overkill, the kill ability of the game has been lowered overall, and necrons got tougher, so even overkill might not be enough.

I feel like they forgot about the epic challenge strat. definitely coulda gotten ghaz krumping the character for those assassinate points instead of them going into the bodyguard
I think people are forgetting how useful a lot of those core strategems can be.

Pity I never found 40k to be anything like this fun to get in to. Was complicated, expensive, you were financially locked in to an army as you must buy yet more models to change anything... and it's a ton of painting. I didn't get much out of that, so never really got into it. But, the universe is awesome. These battle reports are entertaining, keep it up.

I was thinking the same thing. I felt for james every time those mid board Necrons reanimated. One guy died like 4 times. So frustrating. My wife plays necrons, and I hate them
10th is more broken than 9th. Play a few games vs necrons, you wont enjoy 10th.

@@royalblue9267 Necron have one, if not, the biggest win rate in tournament right now and the recent Dataslate didn't nerf them, all while nerfing the other top dogs. Don't get me wrong, 10th edition is pretty balanced and the vast majority of the factions are in the aimed win rate change, but Necron is one of the few outlier that get crazy results rn.

My oh my, that was a beautiful showcase! I don't have neither funds nor good shop access to play the game, but I kinda want those Necrons. I'm a bit of turtler in strategy games, so this slow, but tough and very shooty army that just keeps. on. coming. back. feels like made for that! Just as they should be, those wonderful ancient murdermachines!
As a warning, they only come back if the unit is still alive, so if the enemy focuses fire one unit, if that unit gets wiped, the no reanimating.

Look into cheap, resin based 3d printers. 3d printing is a lot of hassle and is itself another hobby, but I promise it'll save you way more money than you think.

Yeah, best way to deal with the warrior bricks is just to charge them with vehicles and stuff to keep them busy since they can't fall back and shoot/charge. It's really hard to kill them all off.

Been looking forward to this match. It was really close but it's nice to see the 'crons get some glory. Played a tournament two months ago where I ended up in the Final against an Ork player and he just wiped the floor with my 'crons, so this just makes me feel so much better.

Those necrons are resilient! I like that games of 10th Ed seem to be a bit less deadly, it’s nice still seeing a load of models on the table in round 5

Really was looking forward to seeing what Necrons could do in 10th, was not disappointed! Also, that Hexmark destroyer is a unit I don't get to see too often, so that was a welcomed sight! Hitting on two's always, even in Overwatch? Nice! Also, reanimating is gonna be lit in 10th edition. :D
And that's secondary to his other power, which is a free retaliation barrage (full shooting activation as if it were the shooting phase) if a necron unit within 3"of him is shot. He only has 18" range, but dang that's potentially a LOT of shots.

Ooooooh Necrons vs Orks that seems really cool and new Tenth Edition and I bought a tenth edition rulebook to start playing and these orks give me inspiration I might get Orks and World eaters cause I have really cool Azrakh the Annihilator model so I figured I would start my world eater army with him

When I went to Warhammer Fest I got The Infinite and the Divine and it was a really good book. I could just visualize every bit of it and that last part was very intense, which is one of the reasons i like necrons a lot as a faction
A valiant effort to keep the game that close for the orks, but man alive that reanimation in both command phases (with orbs), bringing back partial models so never wasted is insane. Plus being able to do protocol of the undying legions twice per turn (after a shooting phase, and a fight phase getting hit). Just crazy, an absolute must to finish off entire units, yet that's harder to do in general these days.
1st 10th edition battle report I fully watched. Every single other one I lost interest in after like 1st round. Just a very good way of presenting your matches.

I just wanna take a moment and point out that James was able to keep a good attitude. And a great poker face because if I'm rolling that poorly and my Opponent is rolling that Hot, I'm Raging every time. Like I'm not gonna be mean to my opponent. But I might punch a steel poll.

Such a great batrep! I hate the 2+ hour batreps with every single roll, just talking, talking, talking.. you guys have such a fantastic format with the announcer and then cutting in some banter and reactions every now and then. Keep at it, yours are the only batreps I watch now!

This is an interesting one, I played against my friends Orks for about 6 games and he gets tabled every time with the new unbalanced Necrons so I'm surprised it was so close. We had literally every game decided by turn 2
