Self-healing materials are so widespread that clothes lines and tech companies are already applying them to different products.
Now, a research team at the University of California, Riverside, has developed a new type of self-healing material that is conductive of electricity, highly elastic and almost entirely transparent. The lead researcher has revealed that he drew inspiration from Marvel's Wolverine character.

  • This seems like a very poor demonstration, every clip in which the material "heals" looked edited (the video cuts and the material is fixed) or they cover the hole while it's "healing". I'm not calling this guy a scammer because he is a legitimate doctor and scientist and I'm sure this is a very real technology, but what I will say is that whoever put this video together did a poor job because all the footage, of the demonstrations, looks tampered which raises some serious red flags in my mind.

    • Dude they have to push it around because usually, when you rip something,the cells break. However, with this material it doesnt break instead it actually pushes out to make space for the object being forced into it. Therefore it is needed to rub the hole so then the cells would move back into regular form.

      @Freddrick-hi4gv@Freddrick-hi4gv5 жыл бұрын
    • Part if covering the hole is because that's how you fix it, the heat/friction of rubbing the hoke is like buffing out a small scratch on your phone
