Tribute to Cali

Cali was always a very beautiful cat. She was generally very quiet and sweet, although she and her siblings would often tussle. On hot days, she liked to sleep with her belly up, and would cutely fold in her front paws in to her chest. One odd thing she used to do… instead of drinking out of a bowl, she would dip her paw into the water and lick it off. I’m glad I managed to get a video of it!
In her older years, like all the others, her health began to decline. She had surgery to remove a being tumor near her ear. She also took twice-weekly trips to the vet for SubQ fluids, with three other cats, to help with kidney disease. She was usually very calm, unlike her sister, who would get very upset.
After more than twenty years spent with cats, in the end, it was just Cali. I know she was lonely and missed her siblings. She would often wake up crying, and she clung to me for comfort. She didn’t usually sit on me but beside me. She became my little snuggle bug.
I miss her deeply. I long for the day when I will meet her, and all of my other cats, on the other side of the rainbow bridge. I know they wait for me there. They were all a very big blessing in my life, and I am forever grateful that they spent all of their lives with me.
