I don't forget it. I remember him parading around the bleachers like he'd just Aldo'd Vitor after going the distance, only to embarrassingly get a dubious split, the judge in his favor being Cecil Peoples, LOL. I remember the almost unceasing stream of unintelligible sentences that spilled from his mouth whenever a mic was thrust in front of him. Those things brought me far greater enjoyment than watching him fight ever did, could or will. For that, I am eternally indebted to Tito.

You're probably right, but Tito can simply thank his lucky stars that he came along in that era of fighting. If Koscheck would've came around then, it's very likely he would be the "legend". OTOH, if Ortiz were to switch places with Kos (as a young fighter in a much more competitive world), he'd probably have the same level of success as Kos. Tito is a strong ground fighter, solid in all aspects of it. But as a stand-up fighter, he has as much rhythm as a trained ape.

As far as who is going to have a better legacy it's probably going to be Tito Ortiz. Koscheck is going to be known for pestering Leben on TUF and kicking it around in the WW division for a couple of years and getting his ass kicked by GSP in Montreal. Tito Ortiz was a defending champion and although in hindsight the talent then wasn't as great as it is now he has some classic fights against Wanderlei, the feud with Shamrock, Chuck, etc.

Well let's say they went the catchweight route (at a 35 lb. difference I know that's unlikely) and the fight could really happen. They're both good trash-talkers with attitude so building up the fight is no problem. Physically they're both strong wrestlers who can strike. Can Koscheck take out a guy who's naturally stronger with a good chin, like he did Matt Hughes, or will he get bullied? That's why it would interest me.

Tell that to Frank Trigg. Guys could get to Hughes but only 4 (Koscheck, Penn, St-Pierre and Alves) ever KO'd him, 2 of them at the end of his career. The key to Hughes was that Kos was active and got to him early. If you watch that whole fight, Hughes never really tried to take him down; he kept it on the feet and tried to jab like St-Pierre did. But he didn't have the power or the reflexes and Kos caught him repeatedly til the lights went out. I'd be interested to see if he could do the same to Ortiz and put yet another MMA veteran away.

4 years later, I think these guys should fight while they still can...Tito is yesterday's news and Josh is probably nearing the end of the line after 3 straight UFC losses, but they could still put on a show together and draw some money. And for the record, I would back Koscheck in this one.
I don't think it's going to happen, just that it's an interesting possibility. But I can see I'll have to throw in a needless insult to communicate on your level, so, um...you're a big meanie and you smell.
Well let's say they went the catchweight route (at a 35 lb. difference I know that's unlikely) and the fight could really happen. They're both good trash-talkers with attitude so building up the fight is no problem. Physically they're both strong wrestlers who can strike. Can Koscheck take out a guy who's naturally stronger with a good chin, like he did Matt Hughes, or will he get bullied? That's why it would interest me.
Tell that to Frank Trigg. Guys could get to Hughes but only 4 (Koscheck, Penn, St-Pierre and Alves) ever KO'd him, 2 of them at the end of his career. The key to Hughes was that Kos was active and got to him early. If you watch that whole fight, Hughes never really tried to take him down; he kept it on the feet and tried to jab like St-Pierre did. But he didn't have the power or the reflexes and Kos caught him repeatedly til the lights went out. I'd be interested to see if he could do the same to Ortiz and put yet another MMA veteran away.

Tito fights the best though cant say he doesn't, He could of easily said to Dana listen ive lost a few now give me an opponent whos not ranked in the top 15 (LWH is stacked) but no he fights rashad evans,lil nog,bader and the ones that are not recent. Give him some credit he's a pioneer of the sport. PS: They both look like albino's.
