I stopped and said "What do you see?" "christmas stuff" she says. "What was in the season candy area when we came in?" "Christmas stuff." I left. "Wait, we're not shopping?" "We're window shopping." To home depot. Same deal. Same response. She obviously knows what's going on and is now trying to convince me to head home. "Oh no. We're far from done." • I feel like Christ would feel fine about the consumerism aspect of Christmas as long as everybody who was able to, donated food and toys to the annual toy drives/soup kitchens. I've never been religious, but the big thing I took away from mandatory religion classes was that Christ only ever wanted people to help those less fortunate than themselves, and to stay humble by remembering that, even if you're not doing great yourself, there's always someone in a worse position who could use your help. And that's a GREAT message for anyone. Buying a bunch of toys to donate around the holidays is still engaging in the commercialisation of Christmas, but at least it goes towards something positive - making a sick child stuck in hospital on the big day feel a bit happier. Meanwhile I'm sure people like Alex Jones wouldn't donate anything to anyone, and would describe it as a certain word (hint: it begins with 's'!).

I think part of it is that catholic priests have to go to school for a very long time and have to devote their whole life to be priest, as well as sacrifice their social and romantic lives. Because of this, they actually know what it means to be a true Christian. But this isolation is also why so many catholic priests are pedophiles, so there needs to be a balance.

    • The biggest tip I ever got back when I busked in Boston was from a woman wearing a hijab. It was around the holidays so I was only playing Christmas tunes. Who gives a busker $20? I talked to my Muslim aunt about it and she was not in the least bit surprised. She's from Pakistan and both her and her family love Christmas despite being observant Muslims. I was raised Catholic but I'm not a particularly religious adult and I love it, too, so it makes sense. It's just a fun thing to do, and what's wrong with that? If it means something to your religion fine, celebrate it the way you want, no one's saying you can't, but don't take a dump on the rest of us who want to enjoy it, too, and celebrate it the way we want to.

And we still haven't found a better way to find them Basically IQ for individuals isn't debunked (because it's the best tool we have to find outliers now), IQ for groups (the one racists use) is obviously debunked because it relied on using the tests completely wrong
