  • I had a cool idea for a much better, more “permanent” UV tank! Start with a fish tank of the appropriate, useable size. Clean the glass on the outside of the tank thoroughly, removing any and all residue (fingerprint grease, soup, label adhesive, or whatever is present, it’s very important to clean the surface of the glass first). Then, apply a silver mirroring paint (which available in many places that sell spray paint, as well as online) or, if you want to be fancy, a 2-part mirroring kit. You can cut the lid of the tank to accommodate the lights, of make your own from another sheet of glass of clear plastic, with the same mirroring technique used on the rest of the tank. It would be 100% reflective, and so more uniform and effective, and safer to use, as all IV light would be contained.
