  • I love the art involved in this project. I saw the thumbnail and was a little worried the first few steps might be, “I was sent the 3D model by the sponsor and I 3D printed it in three parts because this is going to be huge.” But no, you made this thing and it looks beautiful.

  • Hey Jazza! For sculpting Perspex, it's best to use a block mould that the Perspex can shape itself around. This works really well if you can spread the heat evenly and the mould is made from a material like wood or some other smooth, solid, and high-temperature-bearing material.

  • Little tip for people who know how to 3D-model atleast basic level of making simple shapes: Make a rough model with 3D-modelling program of your choice (like Blender or Oshape (both are free)). And open the project in Blender or other 3D-modelling program that lets you to unwrap the model. Unwrap your model so that seams would be something you can cut out of the foam. Save and print the unwrapped model in size you want to make your model and use that as a patterns for making the model. You can use this method for making pretty much anything. There is also some ways to make simple humanoid character with your proportions and you can model anything on that model -> unwrap -> print -> use as a pattern for cosplay and so on.

  • very cool chap - its so interesting to me to see thought process for all of this sort of work. I love your result, with the stage and the mini and backdrop, and I think its interesting how different it would be from what i would do if I was given the same task goal. I would have designed a full 3d printable assemble model - printed all the parts from (thin, light) plastic and used the phone itself as a drone controller to make the thing fly. essentially incorporating a drone into the body of the thing. Now its fair to say my interpretation would take longer and be more expensive, and it would almost certainly be smaller than what you made. but isnt it interesting how different minds view the same task - in this case an artist (with some engineering skill) vs an engineer with (some artistic skill). keep being awesome chap.

I applaud your hard and tireless work and hope the next video hits the mark. (I still gave a thumbs up, because I know this was no easy task and a heck of a lot of work went into it, and you can still be proud of what was accomplished in the time you had) Gentle Hugs
