I love stories like this. My mom was living alone and a little black cat with green eyes walked into her house and stayed there until she (the cat) died. That kitty brought much comfort to my mom. I asked what was the cat's name. Mom said she didn't know. I've always called her "The Cat With No Name."

I have, what could be a feral cat. She has fit in well!! I love her!!!
Beef reminds me of my mother's cat Psycho. Us kids named him that cause he was crazy, but with my mum he was a cuddle bug. When we had to take him to the vet he wouldn't go in the carrier being a stray, so he sat on my mother's lap as she drove and this furry boy would just look out the window. The stoplights were the most hilarious because there were a lot of double-takes of this tabby kitty staring at them from the driver's seat. They had about 14 wonderful years together til my mum's passing and he missed her terribly. I'd find him sleeping on all of her clothes, blankets and jerseys until her scent was gone. I'd let him in her car and we didn't go anywhere, we just sat there missing her together. He lasted one year, one month, and one day after her passing before he crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her. I know they loved each other so very much, you wouldn't find one without the other always somewhere both of them napping in the sun having an afternoon nap.

For people who know the secret, please, share how you get your cat/s to like riding in the car? I would love a feline travel buddy. Love the bond between people and their fur-babies.
I'd love to help you, but I think that is a cat choice. Unless your cat is very young, you probably can't get it to "like" being in a car. So you'd have to start taking it in the car from a few months old. You can't make a cat enjoy car rides, but you can acclimate them to the car very young.
I think it comes down to repetition and patience. Take a human buddy with you who can drive while you’re securely holding your kitty on your lap and speaking comforting words. Do this many times and hopefully kitty will realize it’s a cool thing to do without freaking out. Hold kitty up to the window after a while to see the view. Cats are curious so kitty should be distracted. If you stop at a drive thru to get kitty a treat, that would be even better! It can be done with time! Good luck! 💕
PS - make sure kitty is leashed securely while traveling! 💕

In San Francisco ASPCA abandoned many if its traditional supports years ago, and City assumed this extremely well. Make sure the one you support has not whittled down important services.
