    • The Halo TV show isn't solely Microsofts fault. Maybe the people who signed off on the project should've held out for better talent. But in the end it's the showrunner and awful writers that ruined it. It's shows like Halo why I don't agree with writers strikes. Why should they be paid more to ruin potentially good IP for awful TV and movies?

I stopped after ep 3 realizing it's only going to get worse and worse and for everyone praising it I guess there's no decorum of thought needed. Just once again like every other show turn your brain off and consoom. And also, the whole lore thing is not why I wanted to watch the show, I just wanted to see an adaptation that the show would have benefited from, but now I realize anything like this would only have worked in the 90's when those kinda shows were way more popular (star trek, star gate, etc.) rather than now where it's not about the characters and their plot but something so inane and time wasting. Why bother attatching a fake leg that doesn't work? Why does the automated turret miss every shot? Why are characters finding each other so easily? Why is there only 1 mention of this magical dog factory that does something? Why do ghouls need magical piss drink to live? God damn such a bullsh-t show. The ghoul is the only good thing from the show but even that's only because he's a ghoul.

  • For the game engine Unreal Engine 5 that would be the best way for Microsoft to have it done still though it would be a build setting difference from playstation, switch, pc, andriod and iPhone. Yes unreal can make for all platforms. So you could say a less optimized version could run on xbox and windows with 0 changes as the xbox chip is still a custom chip not standard x86. Some extra instructions taking out some that are redundant with others. For example comparing the Intel Ultra 100 chips to the Intel 13th gen chips. They added in something but also took away a lot that is just redundant but that will break programs with explicit programming for L1 instructions so 1980s and 1990s programming before APIs were used. This relates to the xbox as how the xbox handles data is it has a custom set that includes most of x86 like the Ultra 100 but the xbox and playstation chips also have custom instructions for their chip that will not work without a translation layer on the generic x86 chip alike to trying to run NPU code for the Ultra 100 on the 13th gen CPU. it will just crash the program if it is coded properly or crash the system if not. They could make a setting to make a game not use the special instructions on the xbox so to work on both pc and xbox but then it will run slower on both x86 pc and on the consoles. The reason why is the instructions are in L1 to make it go quicker so remove use of them and takes longer. In reality maybe a frame or 2 slower during an action scene but if a frame or 2 is enough to bring it under a consistent 30 fps then it is needed.

Win 98SE fixed problems that 95 and 98FE had, ME fixed what wasn't broken and threw in a load of new bugs, stretching the 9x DOS-based system far beyond its limits and pushing users towards NT/2000. XP solved those problems by going "NT" and worked OK (mostly), Vista brought in new features that didn't work on most new computers of the time, 7 fixed Vista, 8 was as bad as Vista but this time it was designed for the predicted downfall of the PC and its replacement by tablets, 8.1 was basically a Service Pack that fixed most of 8's most egregious problems when non-Apple tablets didn't take up Win 8 and PC users basically revolted against it. Win 10 fixed those problems that remained in 8.1, 11 threw in a lot of new bugs and problems that will hopefully be solved with 12- and so on, for ever and ever, Amen.

This time it is Microsuck. Porting the Windows OS over to a new hardware instruction set is not that hard. However I think they will quickly discover it will also be a major financial blunder. Why? Because though there will be a few idiots buying these new ARM powered laptops they will quickly discover that none of their software that they own will run on these new laptops. The reality is there are billions of dollars of software that will only run on X86-64 PC's.

  • Mint and Zorin are two beginner-friendly Linux distros that don't need the command line to install or use (though it is there). Both can look more like Windows than Windows! I use both on my old laptops and will stop using Win 10 at end-of-life in 2025. Free, no ads, free upgrades, works on older hardware. What's not to like?

  • xbox as a pc you are missing info consoles have shared resources pc's don't have shared resources what this means the cpu/gpu/ram is combined on a console for the pc they are separated however there are plans on making it possible for pc's to be also able to do this if you put a pc game on a xbox it basically goes like wtf is a gpu what is a processor what is ram? wait wait i have to send this to this how? i never learned how to do these things you are requesting file explorer is currently in a broken state on windows 11 i mean it works but behind the scenes it is shitting bricks litteraly icons turn pixelated then black on alot of people's pc's and microsoft is aware of it and the update is currently in the beta channel to fix file explorer i am currently using onecommander to solve the problem when the icons turn black they stay normal in onecommander even while i am using the iconcache and thumbnail cache of the file explorer which should indicate you enough that it is the file explorer that is faulty as the icons are intact

  • halo tv series is still horrible in 2nd season. Fallout tv series isn't doing a perfect job at matching stories from fallout games , there are some odd inconsistencies, BUT here's why I started playing fallout 4 again: the game got a serious "next gen update" which I'm interested in seeing what has been done to improve it. it just happens to have released around (near) the same time as the fallout series.

  • Win12 could not give a shit about, Win11 is actual shit, upgrade to Win10, Win 10 is also shit so upgrade to Win7 but that requires old Skylake hardware anything before Win7 is too much trouble.

    • Microsoft isn't concerned as much with where you play the games, just that you play them. For gamers, this is a great thing.
